It wouldn't surprise me if the Mando movie has a post-credits scene that shows Thrawn to tease the next movie in the Mandoverse. I can't imagine Thrawn having a big role in this movie. I'm excited to see more of this Shadow Council, though, as they were maybe the most interesting part of Mando S3 for me.
Two things can be true at the same time. It’s both true that a number of Disney Star Wars projects have been bad, and true that a number of actors have been disgustingly harassed online in specifically misogynistic and racist terms.
The issue with the prequels is that the story is too long and full of details for only 3 movies. That's why they had to make the Clone Wars: a big part of the story didn't fit in the movies. Lucas had to ignore most of the training of Anakin, between the FM and AOTC... Then he had to ignore all the war itself. You know? The movies still hold and they're great... But he should've take his time to tell the story.
Yeah it's just some bad fan fiction... Actually I don't think Lesley Headland's a fan... So... It's more of an offended woke social justice warrior nonfan fiction.
I get the feeling Jonny Coyne's character will be part of the movie's opening act. He'll be the Imperial that Din and Grogu are after to establish who they are and what they're doing. Then maybe we move on to a more threatening Imperial as the movie's main antagonist. Possibly Thrawn (though I think he'll just be teased and saved for later) but I think it'll most likely be a new character. Possibly Sigourney Weaver.
I feel sorry for the cast of The Acolyte, but Lesley Headland (or however her name is spelled, I don't care) deserves no pity. She set out to make something while not giving a damn what fans want, and she certainly achieved something fans don't like. Criticizing the atrocious writing is completely fair. If anyone takes issue with her for some aspect of her identity, that's nasty and nobody normal is justifying that.
The problem about the racism thing is the worst the actor is they are more lightly to get attacks. I have no doubt they got a lot of racist attacks, but their acting was trash. Some people who recognise they acted trash will use racism to attack people. You can just recognise they acted bad and stick to that.
In my opinion, the reason the prequels could be elevated by TCW was that they were stuffed full of good ideas poorly executed; with several seasons of space to air those good ideas out, the prequel era became one of my favorites even with all my gripes over TCW. From what I've seen, The Acolyte had no good ideas, and what thoughts there were weren't well-executed either. So the whole thing just falls flat.
Two things can be true at the same time. It’s both true that a number of Disney Star Wars projects have been bad, and true that a number of actors have been disgustingly harassed online in specifically misogynistic and racist terms. Those of us who want good Star Wars should still call out the latter, as it’s not productive.
Third true thing: The studios and activist producers/directors/actors have overplayed the harassing messages to paint the larger fanbase with as broad a brush as possible. It is only a significant minority of the fanbase (and likely outside trolls as well jumping on the wagon) sending those kinds of messages. It is indefensible, but it is also an unfortunate reality of the current internet culture (aiming in both directions). Using these messages to deflect from valid criticisms and complaints is just as bad as the messages themselves.
@@JoRoq1, I take your point, though I think if we're being clear minded, studio "activism" is way overblown as an idea. Studios DO NOT care about progressive causes; they care about money and they're lazy. There isn't a single Disney Star Wars property that has featured a detailed subplot taken from a modern Progressive theory/talking point. They have indeed been casting a wider array of races (which is obviously fine, I'm sure you wouldn't disagree). Primarily though, some of the producers and cast members have thrown out pandering one liners about diversity during press tours. Again, it's not as though they're getting up on stage and reading Progressive manifestos. Rather, they're just saying simplistic shit in the hopes of drumming up viewership from a wider audience.
Yes, it's true that just because people stop making videos going after The Acolyte doesn't mean they actually like any better. We've seen the same thing with all the other Disney/Lucasfilm SW failures.
Ah, diese lovenly Naboo newsen! Hah! 😅❤🎉 I think it's about the story. If the story is good and engaging the characters will have good roles to play in the plot line that makes sense... Hayden Christensen's acting was fine in the prequels btw.
hey thor - are you going to do an acolyte treatment? to fix some of the motivational inconsistencies, the selfish ending being uwu glorified, and the odd treatment of the jedi? not to mention things like never mentioning what supposedly made the witches selfish/bad, or dark side, and why they couldn't teach children? (i'd insert a trollface emoji here if i could 😹)

I highly doubt that The Acolyte will become anything like the prequels. Not gonna happen. If it ever does, hopefully I'm long gone by then.
entertainment these days is picked up and dropped so quickly by the masses that nothing besides things of true value will retain a legacy.

The Acolyte is the absolute worst thing I have ever watched in my life, and I'm 52. I am not exaggerating in the slightest bit when I say this.

Thanks for the video, Naboo and Thor, and thank you for the update on the Lego advent calendar, Naboo!

In order for The Acolute to become like the prequels, it would need a redo

We didn’t know any of the other warlords from the shadow council accept hux and palleon did we?

There was no AT-STattin in the advent calendar
...RDJ as Thrawn...?

That is not an Venator it is an Acclamator.
You mean TINO - Thrawn In Name Only.
