never heard of drills in colleges till this video, as our college does the safety drills in dorms only, and i don't think the whole campus does in (Sault Michigan).

Wouldn't it make more sense to not have the blinds closed but have the lights and doors locked? I say this because if all the rooms are like that the shooter would know that people would be in there

yeah, if I were the shooter and I saw the blinds closed I would know somebody was in there compared to blinds that are open

@@tea-vw1yi Not really. If the blinds are closed, the shooter wouldn't be able to shoot anywhere without possibly wasting bullets.

This is what I do at my school in the lockdown drill; we go run in the back except for the teachers and we stay sting and we close the light and the teacher has to hide somewhere else

I had an emergency lockdown drill in 6th grade. I remember the day it happened. On October 27, 2012, the intercom went off with this exact sound and the computers the teachers had said almost the same thing. “10-27-12, Lockdown drill at --am”.

thats the entire point. A dark classroom with blinds shut gives the shooter less vision and ability to aim at innocent students. If a light is on and you can see straight into the classroom, the shooter would just shoot through the glass striking anyone he sees. If every classroom has their lights off, blinds closed, and doors locked, he will most likely try to go to another room with the lights on, blinds open, and door unlocked. That is also why you should exit the building if you can, leaving lights on, blinds open, and the door unlocked. So that if the shooter goes into an empty classroom that you were once in, they waste time and will more likely to be caught.
