    Thank you so very much. This gem had been my devoted companion since Oistrakh and Stern recorded in 1959 and it has been my steadfast companion lo all these years!

    Un grand merci pour vos fidèles vidéos qui nous montrent bien tout le génie d'Antonio Vivaldi. N'auriez-vous pas dans vos réserves, l'exubérant Concerto per la Solennità della santa lingua di sant'Antonio di Padua (RV 212). Il faut croire que Saint Antoine de Padoue était particulièrement loquace !

      Oui, le manuscrit est conservé à Turin, mais il s'agit de la deuxième mouture (RV 212a), qui est comparativement peu jouée. Il y a Scimone, à la fin des années 60, sur instruments modernes, et plus récemment, Dmitry Sinkovsky pour la Vivaldi Edition, qui ne me tente guère...

    Remarkable how little music notation has changed in 300 years compared to text in handwriting. My handwritten scores are as equally readable-or probably - less than those of Vivaldi centuries ago.

    Diferente essa obra. No Andante ouvimos sutilezas que nos lembram Boccherini. Um compositor posterior.

      Vivaldi seems to have used it more as he aged. You can see it used extensively in later pieces!

      Arthur Vale - Música I think they were surprised because during the Baroque Era, articulation was usually entrusted to the performers.

      Oh, I didn't know that. It's kinda strange how music notation got more "specific" as times passed, I mean, during the Renaissance many works didn't even notate accidentals, the performers were supposed to alter them based on the rules of counterpoint. Then, when we get to the Romantic period, even pedaling is a lot more specific.

    Do you think this was a reworking of a trio sonata? no orchestra at all in the second movement.
