*SO* Onew is the Leader of K-Pop group *SHINee* (you have already reacted to SHINee's Taemin). This is his the title track from his first mini album "Voice" which is a special gift to fans before his 2-year mandatory military enlistment (he enlists on Devember 10).You *must* react to SHINee's Jonghyun aswell. Onew and Jonghyun are amongst the top vocalists in K-Pop of all time. In fact, SHINee as a group (debuted in 2008) are considered the Princes of K-Pop and have been nicknamed "Kings of Live Performances" and "CDNee" because they sound -the same- even better live than their CDs even with vigorous dancing (yes, they are all great dancers and remember, Taemin is the group's main dancer!).

onew has one of the most recognizable and unique voices in kpop. he is so talented. he can even sing opera.. i suggest onew - nessun dorma. also, check out more of his group, shinee! but really, his entire album, voice, is a masterpiece.

You guys don't realize this but this is actually beautiful timing. When I recommended SHINee's debut "Replay" from 2008 I said that their leader Onew has to start his mandatory military service in a few days (on Dec. 10th.) He will be gone from the music industry for almost two years so this (and his first solo album) was like a gift to the fans. You have now watched two members of SHINee (Onew & Taemin, the oldest and the youngest) so I hope you'll check out the full group someday.
If you'd like to hear Onew singing opera please check out the video [HD] Nessun Dorma (ONEW SOLO) - SHINee - Tokyo Dome. There's also a video out there called "onew's 40 second note duration" where he held a note for that long. He & Jonghyun are SHINee's main vocalists. If you'd like to hear another beautiful ballad song please check out the Jonghyun video "Before Our Spring" which is a song that was released after Jonghyun's death. After Jonghyun's death I really thought SHINee would be over and I was so happy when they decided to still carry on as a group & released some albums earlier this year. "Good Evening" was their first music video after Jonghyun's death. But now with Onew about to start his military service & the other members will eventually have to start theirs...it'll be awhile before we get new music as a full group. Another member, Key, recently released his first solo album & the title track is "One of Those Nights" (feat. Crush)" I really hope the tragedy of Jonghyun's death will not stop you from exploring SHINee's videos cause I noticed with a lot of reactors after his death they'd watch one of his videos solemnly and then never watch any again. They deserve to be celebrated & adored & loved for their amazing artistry and not just treated with solemn & silent respect because there is a lot of joy to be had in their videos & concerts.
Oh, and I really love when you guys do this "random" pick cause it shows you're not out there just trying to get as many views as possible by just picking the hottest artists like some reactors do (I'm always stuck getting into new reactors who I think are interested in kpop but then they only react to about three groups) but you genuinely want to be surprised and delighted & amazed like how reaction vids should be.
StreetNoise Wow...just wow. I was getting that emotional feeling from the song that I couldn’t even describe but now I’m beginning to understand. I’m also reading some of the other comments and some are speculating that this is a tribute as well. And can you describe to me the mandatory military service? Is that for everyone?
Ambitious Ace - I'm not good with all the details but yes, every Korean male has to do it (I think there are rare exceptions like I heard about a Korean athlete was exempted but the public will look down on you then.) Of course idols who are from Japan, the U.S., China, etc don't have to do it. Regular Korean men get it over with early, usually when they are in the middle of college. Celebrities wait til the very last minute....I know Wikipedia said you have til your mid-30s but that's not true as all the idols who were born in 1989 or 1990 and getting their summons are required to go now. You actually start getting your summons to go when you come of age but can keep deferring it til a certain point.
@@AmbitiousAce616 -- Oh, and the reason for the mandatory service is North Korea. Because the Korean war in the 1950s never actually ended, they are just in a ceasefire. So South Korea must always be prepared. With U.S leaders, North Korea & South Korea's leader meeting earlier in the year there has been talk about officially ending the war but it hasn't happened yet.
I am so truly thankful for this reaction. I did not expect for you guys to react to this. Onew has one of the most beautiful voices in kpop. He is the leader of my favorite group called SHINee. This is the same group that Taemin is from. SHINee is a 5 member boy group. One of the members Jonghyun tragically committed suicide December 18 2017. SHINee has continued on as 4 members (still 5 in our hearts) and are going on their 11th year in the business. Onew released this solo mini album (this is his solo debut) as a gift for the fans before he enlists to the military this Monday December 10.
As a few comments have already stated, Onew is from SHINee. Taemin is from SHINee as well! Onew just released his solo album or EP, I can’t recall because I haven’t had a chance to listen to it yet. I was just able to listen to Key’s solo album...Key is also from SHINee, I recommend his solo album! Also check out SHINee’s work as well. I recommend; Lucifer, Ring Ding Dong, Everybody, and Dream Girl!! 😊

Yes, I think this will go down as one of my favorite reactions of theirs because you can really see how honestly awestruck they were. People tend not to recommend ballads a lot & I'm glad Dame Diddy found this randomly.
As other comments have said, Onew is the leader of SHINee (the group Taemin is from). Another member, Key, also released his debut solo album this month. It's called Face and the lead single is One of Those Nights. I would love to see a reaction to it!

The Album is just as Beautiful. He's from SHINee along with Taemin, Key, Min Ho, and late member Jonghyun. I love them together, Never failed me with their music. But their solo stuff have to be some of the best in Kpop. Jonghyun and TAemin being the most popular. If you loved this then I reckon you'd love Tell Me What To Do - SHINee, which has Onew and Taemin in it. It's a sad jam xD 1 of 1 is an 80's/90's style song, Married to the Music is a funky song with a music video which relates to halloween. I recommend y'all check out SHINee's lives since they're so brilliant, they sound so amazing singing while dancing. Also like everyone else is saying, you HAVE to check out Onew - Nessun Dorma!
Onew is also enlisting in the Korean army Sunday for his mandatory tour of duty so enjoy this album that he just released. If you guys want to know more about him, just Google Korean kpop idol Onew. Wikipedia also has Onew's real name and stats about his life and career.
Monday December 10 is his enlistment date. There's no fan send-off. He did not disclose where and what time he will depart for the service. Also, no live performances or promos on music shows.

as several have already stated, onew's from the group SHINee under SM Entertainment, which also includes Taemin + two other members- Key (who also just released solo material) and Minho and a former fifth member, Jonghyun, who passed away about this time last year (who also had some awesome solo releases that you should get around to at some point).
SHINee's got a ton of great music from all throughout their career but if yall would check them out, i would recommend beginning with their newer stuff. Good Evening, 1 of 1, I Want You, Married to the Music are the best introductory songs imo because even though their earlier stuff is great, its very dated and should be saved until after you've formed a proper opinion of SHINee lol

Onew is the leader of one of kpop’s most enduring and popular group SHINee whichjust celebrated their 10th anniversary in Maythis year! He is also considered one of the best leaders. Onew is his stage name and means ‘gentle’, because he is such a gentle and kind person who gives up everything for his members. He has been through so much including the loss of his member Jonghyun, but all of them have come back so strongly just for their fans and show that they are always here for us. He has a truly beautiful voice which is also really highly regarded as one of the best in the industry. Thank youfor your reaction i loved seeing it! Onew is the leader of KPop-group SHINee together with Taemin, Key and Minho (member Jonghyun died last year) and EXO and NCTs senior. SHINee was a huge factor known as the korean Music Wave throughout the world.
His voice is very powerful, all SHINee members voices are very powerful to point where you are speechless and can’t help but to listen to them...SHINee is old fashioned kind of group of guys! You can feel his pain & grief to the core, don’t even need the lyrics!
SHINee a South Korean kpop group with the remaining 4 members (Uncles of Kpop) it will always be 5 in our hearts ~ R.I.P. Kim Jonghyun. They debuted May 25 2008 under S.M Entertainment, one of the ‘Big 3’ record label companies in South Korea. Onew is a wonderful actor and has a beautiful voice. I'm not sure, but I think this song is a tribute to his bandmate who recently passed away. How touching. Seeing him sad tears at my heart.

That you guys were moved by his voice right away without any need for subtitles or prior knowledge about him -- Onew would be so very happy to hear this! Onew is the leader of SHINee and this is his solo debut before enlisting in the military for mandatory duty this Januarary. There's his whole album on spotify, it's all jazz and r&b inspired tracks, hope you guys love it too!

He already enlisted yesterday December 10th. The album came out
December 5th. There were no plans for promotions or live performances on any shows. Onew wanted it that way. With a song like that, do you think K Pop fans would vote for it knowing TWICE, WANNA ONE, and BTS are all over the place? This song is too serious and too solemn for those fans to understand. He knew this. Thankfully non-K Pop international fans did and bought the album. He got #1 on the iTunes World Charts in 25 countries on the 1st day it was released with zero promotions.
Please check out the legendary group called SHINEE they have been together for 10 years and Onew is the leader of the group.
This is Onew’s (aka JinKi) title song of his first solo mini album that he released within the past 2 weeks along with all his songs & mini album itself that we Shawols been waiting for 10 years, hes the leader of the legendary kpop group SHINee....unfortunately he’s preparing for his quiet enlistment (we don’t fully know where he’s going to be) he’ll gone for at least 2 yrs! It’s required for all korean males when they reach 28+ they have to enlist for at least 2 yrs into the military but they can choose to voluntarily enlist early.
Most would say this song it’s a tribute to their dearest friend and group member Jonghyun but i believe its half & half. It’s about the hardships he personally gone through and along with his closest friends/brothers (aka SHINee members) with loss of their dearest Jonghyun which i think the flying fallen star represents his soul and the crystal holding it.
Onew, whose real name is Lee Jinki, is the leader of SHINee. We have waited so long to get a solo album from him. His voice is amazing and unparalleled. He has always been my bias and I have always wanted a song from him that just let him use his voice full out. This album, and especially this song, was so worth the wait. I’m so glad to see him getting the recognition he deserves. Thank you for this reaction video.

I believe the shooting star represents the group’s and Jonghyun’s spirit/soul after his death. The scene where Onew picks up the diamond, you’ll notice the diamond has no brilliance/spirit, also there are 5 dull mirrors behind the diamond which represents the 5 SHINee members. As Onew walks through his experiences ie: people are standing beside him and later are looking down on him, eventually the spirit/brilliance returns to the diamond. When he places the diamond back in the stand, the brilliance/spirit explodes and all 5 mirrors are shining brightly again.
The diamond shape is also used in the light stick that fans bring to SHINee’s concerts. FYI: In kpop, groups have different styles and colours of light sticks that fans wave at concerts.

Onew is considered as one of Kpop's most recognizable voice. It's been said that casual kpop listeners can identify a SHINee song when they hear Onew's voice.
I believe the MV's concept drew heavily on Darren Aronofsky's 'Mother!', I think because of cyclic theme it had and the vagueness of what all the details meant which ties to the rising falling motion if the lyrics and the non-specific meaning of the stanzas.

Onew is in my top5 favorite Kpop voices. He delivers emotions so well it’s incredible. I get goosebumps every time I listen to his voice. I love the imagery in this mv and I believe it is a kind of Tribut to jonghyun which makes this song sooo meaningfull. I will miss him so much because he is enlisting now to serve in the military. Please listen to other shinee songs as well and give them love people!
It was incredibly heart-wrenching to watch the music video when you know what it means but I'm noticing that even those who don't understand the music video are touched by Onew's honey vocals. SHINee has, hands down, some of the best vocals in the industry and I would love for you to react to more of them. Key, (another member) also just released his album, (One of these night) I'd love to see you two check it out!

Onew is part the group SHINee . And this song is released right before he went off to military for 2 years that all males idols or not idol have to do in Korean . He made song for his fans so they can hear his voice even tho he’s in military service right now . Onew is Amazing Vocalist ...he’s been around for about 10 years now .., and he’s leader for SHINee .
Onew has an amazing voice we do know him for 10 years, he is just one gorgeous and talented guy, I wasn't expecting him to do a dance video, Key from Shinee did a solo too you should react to him too, Shinee is just one talented group and I am sick of writing that word but there is no other word I can use other than amazing, wonderful, one of a kind, just the best and I have been a fan of 10 years so I know them well... you have to react to Lee Hong ki too he has amazing vocals too... Onew is the leader of SHINee and this was his debut track off his first solo album.. SHINee is a 5 member boy group, under SM Entertainment, who just celebrated their 10th anniversary this year. They are legends in the industry. I know you have seen solo's from Taemin who is a members of SHINee as well. SHINee are known for their vocals so it is no surprise that Onew is shocking you with his voice. If you think Onew and Taemin solo are amazing, you really need to see them as SHINee. You also should react to Key's recent solo songs "Forever Yours ft. Soyou (former member of Sistar)" and "One of Those Nights ft. Crush." Key is also a member of SHINee.
What a powerful send off Onew is giving us with this song and MV. Onew officially left for the military Dec.10 so this album will have to keep us warm in this "Blue" world for the next 2 years until he is discharged. You are so right, and as people have also pointed out below, this MV and song is full of symbolism and not only does it tell the story of everything Onew and SHINee have gone through over the past 2 years or so, but it also is a sort of goodbye song to all the fans and a song to show how much Shawols (SHINee's fans) support has meant to Onew and how the fans are what gives him strength, etc.
How I interpret the story in this MV is its all about the struggles Onew has gone through over the years and how he is searching for a "sense of belonging".
SHINee's lightstick is a diamond, and that's the official symbol for this song and album -- a diamond with 5 faces. If you hold SHINee's lightstick up you will see the refection the diamond makes on the wall is a five point star.
In the MV the diamond is reflecting 5 mirrors, one of the mirrors is cloudy or covered in dust, which probably represents Jonghyun, SHINee's main vocalist who passed away almost a year ago. The way I see it, the blindfolded people could represent Onew's scandals and how the public is judging him. They are judging him without actually seeing him and don't even care about the truth.
There are 3 fish floating in a protective glass bubble which I see as representing the 3 remaining members -- Minho, Key and Taemin -- which Onew feels like he needs to protect as the leader and oldest of the group. The white rose is also in a box, and some say it represents the fans and how by putting them in a protective case Onew is saying how precious the fans are to him and how he wants to protect them. (its also worth noting that there is also a white rose in the desert in Key's MV for "Forever Yours.")
The shooting star, represents many things -- his family, his members and fans, that are guiding him back home, after his scandal were he lived isolated. It was almost as if he was saying he was trying to follow the star's path but then something happened that derailed him and made him lose his way, (probably Jonghyun's incident), and for a while he was no longer able to see his "home" from afar anymore, his expression was sort of shocked and afraid, and then he sees the same people that judged him once again looking at him, but more intensely, which was represented by the fact that the blindfolded people grew and became more menacing as things started to pileup. It was almost as if they were judging him, like they were blaming him for everything that happened. And that is probably how he has been feeling all along.
But then you see the shooting star make a path directly to were he was which allowed him to see again and it provided light to his diamond once again, which helped him finally find his way back home. Back to a place where he is starting to feel safe, accepted and loved once again.
He put the diamond on the table, and in its reflection there was shown 5 diamonds. If you notice one of them is blurry ... but even though you can't see all 5 of them clearly anymore, they are still 5. I also see the fact that in the end when he puts the diamond back on the pedestal its almost as if he is saying he is putting the fans and his members and everyone that is precious to him, etc. on a shelf for safe keeping while he is away in the military and he will be back for us once again when he comes back.
I think in the end what he is saying is that he has finally accepted everything and is starting to come to terms with it all. However, he is still not 100% OK or happy yet, but he is slowly getting there. Its the power of the light that is produced by the 'diamond" -- which represents the power from the fans -- that has helping him to find his place in this "Blue" world and to come to terms with everything.
That's just a little bit of what I took away from this MV, but I know there is so much more that can be discovered from it and so much more meaning behind every detail. We could probably go on for days analyzing everything and coming up with multiple meanings for it all. :D
Onew has actually done pretty well with this song and the album, he is getting some pretty good feedback for his first solo debut and we wouldn't expect anything less from a member of SHINee. :D i am so proud of him!!!! At least Shawols' have been coming out hard! Onew topped iTunes charts in 28 counties, topped the world charts and was No. 1 in the U.S. with this album.
SM has really been working hard these last few months and every new release from their groups has been better than the last. Even SM's legendary rock band turned rock-EDM, named TraxX just released a new song a few days ago. You should really check them out I think you will love TraxX, too. SM is really killing it these days.
So ..this is onew ..he is the leader of a famous Korean group called shinee...who has 5 members. .but the last year their main vocalist (( jonghyun )) committed suicide out of depression. .which was a breaking point for shinee and sm town ... onew's voice is actually heavenly. .and consider one of the most beautiful voices in kpop ...
This mv is very sad which memorize the hardest time in his life. .when people were judging him without knowing the truth (( the people who are blind with no hearts in mv )) and the falling star was shinee's members and jonghyun. .💔

I would like to suggest you react to Onew's "Rainy Blue" featuring Taemin on the piano. I believe it was his first performance after he had an operation that could have destroyed his voice entirely. He spent months without being able to speak and had to learn to sing all over again. I was so impressed with his voice I immediately bought his album and it is wonderful. I'm so glad you had an opportunity to have his talent touch your heart as he did mine.

Wow I didn’t know my boy was going to do his military enlistment like today....so no music for 2 years 😭. Also I want to say this song is a little about their member who committed suicide. They been slowly trying to pull themselves together since then but a lot of songs have been alluding to their friend. SHINee I think I one of the strongest groups they really are amazing

SHINee has always been releasing different style/genre songs since their debut days(2008) . They like to do experiments with new genre and been killing all of it. They are known as senior group even though the members are still young. Each and every member in the group have unique voice and combination of all 5 is just a blast off.

Onew and Shinee are amazing performers. Nice to know the video is full of symbolism. the three white fish in the bowl i take to represent his 3 remaining Shinee group members (under everlasting scrutiny as pop idols). The rose in glass box might stand for the group member he lost because of depression/suicide. The couple where the woman has a hole in het chest might refer to a scandal in which Onew was involved. In a nightclub he apparently touched a woman's leg while steadying himself standing up(he was drunk and she was dancing on the table in front of him). She and her boyfriend accused him of sexual assault i believe. The case was examined by the police for more than half a year yet no case could be made. During that time he apologized and was harshly punished by society(the other blindfolded figueres judging him) and his company, for what he did. I highly recommend watching other music by Shinee or Onew since they all are great performers/singers. Don't mind the crazy hair and outfits in the early video's.
