I wonder how BSG sets the fire rate limit for single fire weapons. Like is it based of the gun? Or is it arbitrary for balancing purposes
It’s definitely balance purposes but I don’t see why they would punish people for using semi auto and punish people for using full auto
I wonder if it’s based on actual amount of rounds you can actually shoot per minute like full reload shoot repeat until a minutes up. I feel like that might be a good test
I think is a 50-50
the actual mechanism in guns like a 1911 or anything really limits how fast you can shoot. trigger needs to reset slide pulled back shell extraction and so. however bump firing is a good example you can shoot as fast as the gun lets you without a automatic receiver.
Irl there are no macros users, who turn their 0 recoil RSASS into a machinegun) So its more of a balancing thing. And in case of M3 its obviously a mistake, that BSG are too lazy to fix.
It endlessly aggervates me how useless pump shotguns feel. I shoot skeet/sporting clays with a pump shotgun _accuratly_ with the time between shots being very short on some rounds. I can shoot a pumpshotgun nearly as quickly as a semiauto shotgun and I am by no means an expert. Just proficient. Edit: Im talking about the pump mode, as the semi on the m3 is so inconsistent...
They need to add mechanics for low-pressure shells not cycling in semi-auto shotguns.
I dont think there are any low pressure shells in eft and i dont see that beanbag rounds or low pressure less lethal rounds fit to tarkov

@@matteoorlandi856 Ya gotta lean into that. Right now there doesn't seem to be much benefit to using a shotgun with a lower rate of fire. If the other autoloaders have a chance to failure to eject/feed, it would make pumps and the M3 more viable options.
Pump shotguns are terribly slower compared to real life in video games. While for other games they can give a niche of being powerful and long-ranged to them, in Tarkov this cannot be the case (except for the KS-23) and pump shotguns overall are just terribly implemented. No realism or gameplay.
They should really add the Benelli M4 I really want to recreate John Wick 2

I really would love a breakdown of the different 12 gauge shotgun slugs and specifically to find out if there is even a single reason you might use dual sabot slugs.
Only reason you use them is if you get them as part of your scav loadout.
It’s really annoying too because to me I think the idea of a duel sabot slug round would obliterate people but it’s just inaccurate and hard af to hit the legs with (the only thing it can penetrate is a layer of clothing).
Another shotgun type relegated to the useless category.
@@TheeWolfiee1 that was my takeaway from it. I just thought it was weird that there aren't any strange cope tactics used by people who are claiming it is "secretly good" anywhere so it really seems like it is inexcusably worthless.

@@dominuslogik484 only people I saw coping about useless rounds was the .50bmg slug. Some have said it was good but I for the life of me cannot get any kills when I decide to meme and use them, Best is just sticking with AP-20’s and magnum buckshot.
I do think you do the M3 a disservice by neglecting the usefulness it has in less claustrophobic fights. In midrange with magnum or flechette or such, it's very nice to be able to accurately pace out 13 shots towards a target with it and have that confidence of the more consistent recoil, than to have to reload halfway through a kill and have your target PK and seek shelter.
When i started playing the homie took in a m3 and gave it to me all kitted out and gave me flechette rounds bonked like 3 dudes that raid
"groups of AI" is exactly right. Only time it felt good was on Streets, where scav hotspots seem more predictable. I used it to kill the 15 scavs around rhe med clinic for the current event Parasites.

The lower fire rate of the benneli is actually a benefit in certain niche situations.
Before mechanic level 3 you don’t have access to the Tromix monster claw, and on the flea it’s expensive, especially early wipe,
The benneli however, regardless of attachments, will pretty much always re-center on target right as you’re able to shoot another round.
So, if you’re not careful with placing your shots, an MP-153 can very quickly dump it’s early-wipe 6+1 magazine into thin air, where a benneli would place every shot on target, albeit at a much slower rate of fire.
It also supports optics natively so you don’t need a weird rail attachment to add a sight.
False problem, you don't have to shoot the 153 as fast as possible and miss everything, nobody's forcing you to

@@Corzappy Fair point, but experience remediates that. Granted, I will absolutely panic fire at Killa and hope for a miraculous chance at a safe reload, but that's another beast entirely.
@@hardlogic3046 I mean the difference in accurate fire rate between the 153 and benneli is not that significant. I personally value the extra mag capacity and more forgiving recoil over the spam potential outside of very CQB like factory or dorms.
If they are trying to emulate "slower" round cycling in recoil-operated automatics of M3, they should give gas-operated shotties like MP-153 misfeeds/similar delays with underpowered cartriges and bolt jams with overpowered. Or just cut the bullshit and give the Benelli the equal fire speed, especially since shotguns are far away from being both effective and versatile
Ok talking about shotgun sniping, I did some tests early this wipe to see what slug would be the optimal one for accurate shots at ~50 meters. Turns out, due to the way the guns are zero'd (for buckshot mainly), you have to use a slug that is fairly slow, otherwise the projectile is going to go wayyyy above your target.
And according to the results, the best slug for sniping was the humble led slug. I'm not joking.
You can just aim lower and remember where it shoots at. With higher velocity bullets it will be even easier to aim because they just have better ballistics.
It's garbage because of the zeroing, and even with muscle memory your best shot is AP-20 because otherwise even with a rip slug it takes 3+ hits thanks to the limb damage nerf and laughably low blunt damages. Can't buy AP-20 anymore and lowest MoA options have garbage ergo. It's just not worth it; only reason the meme tarkov streamer get away with it is because tarkov is their day job and they have 20 levels advantage over everyone.

When it first got patched in i had a weird destiny with it, it kept appearing in stashes and gear ups, and had a couple of good scraps with it. I didn't realize you had to engage semi auto, so most of that was using pump, and I think my experience was anomalous. Wonder how it is in the newest patch, and if they changed the fire rate or anything.
This gun is the best ‘long range’ shotgun to use on woods… I did a whole punisher quest on woods with this beast.
I like using the m3 but mostly because I have a horrible habit of dumping my whole tube as soon as I see someone, accuracy be damned. The slower fire rate actually helps me
I like it for the swagger. Thing looks like it was sculpted by Michelangelo himself, and i like to roleplay as Dominic DeCOCO.
the firerate is weird on the gun because if you spam fire it has a cap but if you slow down the clicking you can bypass the weird fire rate cap

The 133 is a garbage shotgun. Not because it's weak but because of the early dumbass quests it's always fucking sold out the first month.

The reason the Benelli has such an odd fire rate is because the hammer travels much faster than the reciprocating bolt/carrier. The hammer will hit the firing pin as the bolt is still moving forward into battery.
Try shooting the moment you see the bolt rotate into the chamber, its much smoother but noticeably slower than the MP-153/155

With the superformance you gotta shoot the legs cuz it has alot of fragmentation chance. It also does alot of dmg vs flesh so you shouldnt be shooting at the armored parts.

And you can’t put any tactical devices on M3, that’s the biggest reason I don’t play with it. Because flashlight and laser is crucially important for shotguns imo.

The M3 is great. When I kill the guy using it with my MP 153, I instantly have a huge amount of shells I can take out of his weapon to reload mine ;)
The Benelli is trash for direct PVP, but awesome for indirect pvp, especially at the extracts, in D2, 13 round shells with magnum buckshot are enough to kill a 3 man chads at the bunker

Not really in-game wise, because it grinds like shit and the benefits are minimal. However as a player, it could be your better option depending what kind of learner you are.
I'll always love the Benelli, strictly because Mt dad has one and it's so nice.

Superperformance only exist for that stupid early wipe quest to kill scavs with a shotgun on woods and you dont have ap20 yet. Literally never use it any time else.

Honestly, i think shotguns as a weapon class should be reworked somehow, and I'm not even sure what needs to be done, because, like, almost every type of ammo for them is somewhere around tier "f'in useless" or maybe just "good enough" for scavs, with the exception of AP-20 and flechette. But somehow, real-life birdshot is able to kick someone off their legs just with the raw force of twelve gauge, especially at the punching distance. There is a solid reason why shotguns are weapon of choice for home defense, because what they lack in penetrating they make up in being able to drop your opponent and make him rethink their life choices somewhere in hospital with multiple broken ribs
But in the magical multiverse of Tarkov shotgun pellets and even slugs just become airsoft BB's when hiting any armor above PACA's level of protection (or maybe even PACA is able to tank 12G, I'm not sure)
I love shotguns, and in EFT they look and sound just so hot, especially the pump ones, but everytime i load any shotgun with anything that is not flechette or AP-20 it just makes me sad

So something i learned is that if you want the m3 to fire faster you have to click at the right speed or it just slows down the fire rate horribly

I remember when I first started playing and it was near end wipe. I was doing a factory run with just a MP-155 with blue slugs and the basic boy soft armor since I had only like 20k roubles left. I went down to basements and rounded the corner to see my first ever chad. This guy was kitted to the wazoo, all tier four armor and helmet with a pilgrim on. Even though he was rocking flechettes, he was using a fully modded Benelli M4 so when he was trying to shred my legs (which he successfully did and made me shit myself) I had enough time to panic aim and head eyes him. Still to this day one of my proudest moments.

You are obviously not meant to aim for the thorax when using SPerformance, you use it to snipe legs, you can kill anyone in 3 shots.

I’m successful with the M3 because I feel like because of lack of flashlight and rate of fire I’m almost forced to play way more carefully. Also because u can’t mag dump the weapon it can save u from having to reload and shooting too many extra shells.

If i remember correctly it hits like a truck but has an accuracy debuff making it miss a lot.

Please BSG up the fire rate. Also can we get some mods for the SVT? Like nothing big, putting a buttpad and having the option for Mosin muzzle breaks would be cool. Ultimately though the one gun I want added to the game would either be the G3 or Hk G33. The HK platform on a bigger caliber would be dope.
