It turns out that it doesn't quite work that way and what you need to do is identify what you will be using the car for, and skew the tuning in that area. 0/3/3 for Lotus Elan, 3/3/0 for Merc E500 etc. For certain cars, it's desirable too to have a couple of them, sometimes even in different maxed combinations. I'd say the Subaru XT is one car where it doesn't really matter how you tune it, it's still pure gold. I have two Subaru XTs, one 3/0/3 and 0/3/3.
Additionally to Challenges: you can go all way to last round of races and then lose on purpose to get just 2 stars. Wait for more tickets then race again to farm more stuff, until you are near the expiration time, then use the best cars to finish and get the ultimate premium.

Not sure about never selling legendary. If I ever get one I don’t need I think if I didn’t have enough epics to upgrade a legendary I would use a legendary to fuse but if I had enough epic then I would sell it. As for gold I only use it for buying more garage space tho I am saving it for req 150 offer at min.

A good tip is to NEVER use gold to buy ceramic packs. You can buy them with cash instead which is alot easier to obtain
This man has about 400 slots, spending a lot of money. It's hard to have a lot of each rarity if you dont spend money on the game
Another issue is spending gold to skip fuses, especially with higher ranked cars
