When he was 22 years old and Pakizah released.He want to watch this film but no money so he did work 15 days as helper in house construction work. They always share his memory when songs play on TV. Today's generation didn't understand. Just imagine how good it would have felt to see her after working so hard.

Shamin does not have even 1% of the talent that Meenaji has. Actresses like Meenaji had such a presence - they don't have to rely on making facial expressions to convey emotions and thoughts. She lived the role that she was acting. Even other actors in Heeramandi cannot command the attention that Meena Kumari has in this movie. Sanjay Leela Bhansali spent all the money making those sets look beautiful but, he cannot create that kind of magic movies like Pakeezah has - I have watched it twice when I was a child and I remember how completely engrossed in that movie - it was like I was in a different world during the entire duration of the movie and once it ended I felt like I was slowly coming out of a trance. Some movies they create that magic only the first time you watch it but, movies like Pakeezah it creates that magic even if you watch it the second time.
