My favorite aircraft of any plane ever built in the history of aviation. With the A10 wart hog running a close second. Extremely deadly and very fast. Even at 200 ft above the ground. Or at 70 thousand feet.
Just over 30 years ago, I had the opportunity to tour one of these beasts. But, as a newhire, I had no time to cover the event, even though the first job I worked on was assembling the bombardiers' station on this aircraft. A few years later, I was able to walk around the B-1B, but that was it for all time.
I always loved to watch the Bone fly when I had the opportunity. I used to fly helicopters into the hospital at Abilene, and of course, Dyess AFB is right there 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸 An absolutely beautiful aircraft.
Man, I love this aircraft so much. It has got to be my favorite. Such smooth, rounded lines but yet so menacing, especially from a frontal view of it. Back in the late 80s when I was in the army and stationed out at Fort Bliss, my unit was going through certification and we were doing some field training that involved some flyovers from an array of air force and naval aircraft. One day, much to my shock and awe, this was one of the aircraft that blessed us with a couple simulated bombing runs. It came over low and slow and I stopped everything I was doing and supposed to be doing to just ogle at this thing of sheer beauty. I sure as hell must have felt like how these chicks feel about Idris Elba and I must not have been the only one because our First Sergeant seemed frustrated, as he kept yelling and screaming at us at the top of his lungs to (pretend) fire our weapons at the thing but I absolutely refused. Ain't no way in hell I was gonna (pretend) fire a single round at MY wife!! He musta been out of his freakin' mind! I woulda taken any of a plethora of charges for her, "dereliction of duty" included. LOL!
@@donotneed2250 I also love the B52. There's an old army airfield where I was stationed and my barracks initially were right in line with their flight path for landing and I used to love the close-up sight and the sound of those engines as they flew overhead. We could almost reach out and touch them. LOL!
I’m lucky enough to live very close to RAF Fairford in England UK, where these guys and the B52s base outside of the US. (there are currently 4 here now, though leaving super imminently😔) and my what a noise they make! They rattle the windows to my house they’re so loud! 😂 we’ve been lucky and had two visits this year! It gets a LOT of people here very excited to see them! An absolutely beautiful aircraft, and an amazing sight to behold for sure!

This video part shows how stupid it is in 201x to throw "non-intelligent bombs" on targets. Each bomb should search and hit a tank, and send this info to all other thrown bombs, so that they search another target/tank. Leaves us finally to the question whether such a (beauty!) airplane is in 201x still needed.
I live in Abilene, TX the home of Dyess AFB and the B-1 B Lancer. I was awestruck the first time I saw it and heard it and 30+ years later I still am! I have never tired of that window rattling roar. Like someone once said-"That's the sound of freedom, folks".
I used to watch these beautiful birds fly training missions from Amarillo, Texas to the Gulf coast and back again. I loved the swept back wings that were adjusted in flight.
What I find impressive about the B-1 is that it isn't actually that much bigger than some of the larger fighter-bombers, yet it has so much more range and can carry such a large payload. It is basically business jet sized, yet has about 70% of a B-52's payload and range.

While i was in the Air Force, I had the pleasure of witnessing multiple badass aircraft take off... This is the coolest of them all..... I was a medic and my partner and I were on the flight line for my only time seeing a B1 take off and when it did, everything in the back of my ambulance fell out of their cabinets lmao....EVERYTHING! It took over an hour to put everything back, was totally worth it..
Man those engines whistling at the end is like the coolest sound ever! Damn I wanna be a pilot so damn bad!! I dont understand why my love has to be the most damn expensive thing to get into!!
I lived in Abilene Texas, home of Deyes Air force base, at different times starting in the late 1980s, when the planes were brand new, and when you saw them flying it was an impressive sight. Hearing them once they got outside of the town and turned on the after burners was awesome. Now it's 35 years later and when I was there last year, got to see and hear them a few more times, on a visit, still awesome. Problem is they are 35 years old, and we didn't build enough of them to start with. Thanks for that Jimmy Carter, stupid peanut farmer. Reagan had to restart the program which was then more expensive, and so 100 was all that were built. A few crashes, and several which were used as parts planes to keep others flying, and we are down to 80 at 2 bases. Sad we don't have a replacement by now, or just build another 100 of them, with some modern upgrades. The Chinese will be making more than a hundred soon of something equal to our 1978 designed B-1 soon
Yeah I just watched some take off this morning at Ellsworth. I thought the jets at Oceana NAS were loud, but damn these B1s can rattle things from a long ways away. Very impressive.

Maybe it was an extremely humid day. 12:05 it looks like those tires lifted off at the line between tarmac and grass :) It also appears the runway tilts downward...... perhaps for a bit of gain of speed for liftoff? If the target isn't overwhelming strike fighters or multi role fighters like F-15, F-16 or F-35'S are used to drop the bombs.
I got a chance to board a B1 Bomber year's back when I was in the Military, it was named Heavy Metal, and had cool nose art like the early days. I was a KC-135 avionics tech, and working during an Airshow and open house on the Base, before the crowds, the crew chief took us up into the plane. It was like a high tech video game for the crew.
It's good that you had chance for it but very bad to have this kind of equipment for nature. It's very harmful and affect for human beings and nature. But people don't care about it. Just countries want to be popular and stay in power from having it. Thanks!
The B-1B would be my absolute FAVORITE plane to fly; on bombing missions of course ! Stellar aircraft in every sense of the word. A bomber that flies like a fighter plane; “Death From Above” for real
What a awesome machine and looking at that b-1 bomber with the four engines which I think are the same engines that are used in an F-15 PW100.. I was thinking down the road they should make another B1b but stealth and uses 4 F-35 engines since the F-35 has the world's most powerful single engine fighter....or better yet make a stealth B1 with 6 F35 engines like the Valkyrie! mach 8 bomber!!👍🇺🇸

Bandit It’s actually a 1960s design
One of my all-time favorite aircraft.
A thing of beauty!
You are saying it as it would be a thing to enjoy
What a awesome machine and looking at that b-1 bomber with the four engines which I think are the same engines that are used in an F-15 PW100.. I was thinking down the road they should make another B1b but stealth and uses 4 F-35 engines since the F-35 has the world's most powerful single engine fighter....or better yet make a stealth B1 with 6 F35 engines like the Valkyrie! mach 8 bomber!!👍🇺🇸
After a certain speed to increase speed by 50mph you would need twice more speed, Mach 8 is nearly impossible, It could be possible in the future tho
