This may sound simplistic but its amazing how many small business websites simply miss the point with things like internal linking. Usually when its pointed out how it should be done they realise and make the changes. Sometimes it's the simple things which can be overlooked.

So 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 if I don't want Googlebot crawling certain key links on my site, but I still need to have those links, can I use the methods listed here as bad practices? For example, if I need to link an about page in a paragraph, is it a good idea to do it with JavaScript? Nice tut as always!
If crawling is a problem, use robots.txt (crawling is very rarely an actual problem). You can also use noindex if you just don't want the other page indexed. Otherwise I'd just link naturally. It's not a problem to have a lot of links on a page. I would strongly avoid using hacks to "hide" links, you're just creating problems for future-you.

These website builders usually all make HTML pages for you. You can use most of the SEO techniques there too.
