I had a Burmese cat that at 9yrs. had a mammary tumor and was told would live another 12 months if lucky And that she was old. What! when I grew up cats and dogs lived to around 20, ate mostl table scraps and raw meat from the pet shop. that was in the 1960's, before the tinned , and dried crap came onto the market. She had infected gums even though I was feeding her vet endorsed superior dry food and tinned food. . I wrote this story in my book on Raw foods in 2005. Its a long story, but bascially I transistioned her onto raw foods. her natural diet. She had jtnatrums for about 5 days, didnt eat any of the crushed chicken necks and cried and cried hoping I would give in and give her the addictive dried crap. that destroys not only their teethand gums , but also their kidneys. chicken necks, fresh sardines, hearts and mince. within 6 months the cat was transformed. the tumor disappeared her coat returned to a glossy, thick state. She became like a kitten again, The gunk in the corners of her eyes, disappeared, her ears were cleaner, and her water consumption dropped to almost nothing. Her poo didnt smell either. She became more affectionate and playful and wait for it...lived another 9 years!
So glad to hear your story. I lost a kitty to problems attibuted to the pet food trade. Now, I raw food my last kitty and now she is a lot better. Chicken necks and heart are wonderful because of the taurine an essential element that cats require but can't make and absorbable calcium which cats have bone deformities etcetera if they don't get. They must get it from their diets. Well Done for taking such good & well informed care of your beloved pet.
Katya's Raw Wisdom I rarely meet dogs or cats that live to 20 ever. Even smaller dogs usually hit 16 IMO. Not that it isn’t possible, but it’s not common. I have two cats who just turned 17. They are, by far, the exception and not the rule.
Hi, Do you think I can make a large portion of this homemade raw food at first, put it in a container, refrigerate and just heat little by little (only the portion my cat would need every meal)?
Hi! I thaw a container in the fridge for 2 days and just use that. My cat likes it cold, I don't heat it, and you do want to be careful to not *cook* it or it won't have the correct enzymes.
Just to let you know. I'm in South Africa. My 16 yr old previously feral cat was diagnosed with thyroid/ kidney disease. I simply can't afford imported Vet recommended special tinned food so followed yr recipe dreading that my very fussy Trixie Cat would pull up her nose at RAW FOOD! How wrong I was she polished off her very first bowl and purred most of the way threw. Thanx so much. You saved our lives. Trixie & D
I’ve been feeding raw to my cat with IBS for the past year. It has made a huge difference in her health. I don’t grind up her food. It slows down her eating having it in small chunks. Which helps her not to have as much digestive issues. I’ve fed her commercial raw which is ground and she eats it too fast then barfs it up. But my recipe is very similar to yours. Only main difference is I add a supplement mix designed for raw catfood to the food, and I add daily to her food a probiotic and prebiotic snd enzyme and ground grasses and a little fiber that is low carb( psyllium husk or ground flaxseed). She loves the food. I usually make up a months worth at a time.
Love this recipe, thank you! P.S. a little suggestion, feed your cat on a ceramic plate instead of bowl, their whiskers are highly sensitive and they don't like eating from deeper containers. Their whiskers are used to gauge the width of spaces they can safely enter into, so very very sensitive and give the brain signals!
Yes, I pick up tiny ceramic or glass tea dishes at thrift shops. They're so cute and cheap and not plastic. I put different ones down as others are cleaned, and the cats prefer the flatter ones. We need our elbow room - they need the whisker room. Love this video and the ideas, very good. I've been feeding a variety to the dogs and cats, some dry, mostly soft, I make a stew each week and feed some raw. My 16 year old cat is showing the beginning of decreased kidney function on his blood work, so I'm going to focus feed him now, more raw. He hasn't eaten kibble for years. This video is a big help.
THANK YOU for your thorough research ! Since 2015 I have also been on the same path as you regarding raw food for Kidney disease cats, but you have taken research on this subject to a new level and I so much appreciate the time and effort you have put into this for us!! The only thing that bothered me was watching you cat try to eat from a tight bowl that whisker length would normally prompt a cat not to enter. Please try feeding on a cupped saucer plate instead. I finally decided to buy an entire cup saucer set so I have clean spares ready. LUV YOUR VIDEO!!!
I just placed an order on US wellness... I'm sooooooo grateful because my cat was diagnosed a week ago and despite her getting better w/ daily subcutaneous fluids... she just isn't herself just yet. Excited for her to try this... THANK YOU!!!!!
this is great! I hope many people see your video and move their pets to appropriate raw meat diets our dog got cancer about two years ago and we thought she was going to die (she was 13 yrs old at the time) we eventually found the info from the Keto pet sanctuary in Austin who are doing trials on the effect of the keto diet on terminal cancer they have had success in outcomes extending the life of most of the dogs treated past the expected time. We put our dog on the suggested diet of raw meat, fat and a small amount of a carb and she is still alive currently and fully recovered her mobility, although some of her tumors still remain. I hope many people see your video and move their pets to raw meat diets
By the way, our vet had already raised his hands and told me to euthanase him. But I didn't wanted him to go out that way. I brought him home and even though he is weak and paralized, he is pretty relaxed and happy to be with us. I'm glad I didn't go with the vet's advice
Taurine is the amino acid that cats need that is in higher qualities in small game. I switched my fur baby to raw when she was 12. She had lived an outdoor life in Oregon and then we moved to California and she had to spend most of her time indoor and started having bladder issues. I immediately changed her diet realizing that she was probably having trouble with kibble because half her food was always raw prey. I used chicken, duck, rabbit and occasionally lamb because those are meats that a cat would catch in the wild, I stayed away from beef. I tried to get whole prey when I could instead of parts from all different types of protein. I was able to join to a BARF (biologically appropriate raw food) group and was able to get a lot of what I needed that way and learned a lot. The prey would come skinned and cleaned and I would just grind the meat and add some salmon oil and raw egg. Wysong has a supplement that I often used when I could not get the whole prey and I would pretty much do what you did above (but with chicken or lamb because for the most part I could find that at a butcher) but she really did not like it as much so I pretty much stayed with whole prey as much as possible. She loved rabbit and duck because she caught those in Oregon. I seriously thought about getting her frozen mice at one time as well because she ate a lot of them in Oregon but I never went that far. She lived to be 23 yrs old.
Thank you so much! My Janis is only 13, turning 14 March 20th, She's been diagnosed with late stage kidney failure & had bad constipation. She's still isn't regular yet, but worse than that, she hates the Hills KD diet food. She also needs fluids every week, I'm going to learn how to do that this week.....In the meantime, I've been searching for an organic raw alternative. I am so grateful for finding your posts!
At first, my cat liked the chicken flavor. I tried to give her the tuna tonight and she won't eat it. The KD is so expensive and I hate to buy a case if she won't eat it. So stressful.
My cat was recommended to try that exact tin from our vet last weekend . Let me tell you this furball is lucky I love him to the moon and back because here in Australia 24 of those tins cost me $84.95! And that’s one and a half weeks worth . My baby is going raw starting from tomorrow .
I do homemade raw kitty food mixed with a little commercial. Just make sure you use a good source of taurine like chicken hearts. Taurine is not optional. No taurine and the animal goes blind and has heart disease. Don't use too much liver because of the high amount of vitamin A; too much A can kill. Also, make sure you use grass feed beef for B12 and enzymes . Chicken has no B12. I add a little organic pumpkin for fiber. WARNING: Use only raw egg yolks not egg white because raw egg whites over time will cause a difficiency of B1 Thiamin --which can cause the death of your pet. The pet food trade has been linked to many diseases due to cost cuts. They removed taurine and and all those people's beloved pet kitties died. Taurine is essential for cats and they can't make their own like dogs can. Now, we have pea protein in dog food that is linked to heart disease in our beloved pet pooches due to pet food manufacturers cutting costs, peas are cheaper than meat. Meat is a complete protein peas are not. Dogs & cats are not pea eaters they're meat eaters. Not all proteins are the same ! !! Shame on them! We should be able to sue. Are pets are family not just livestock. Remember a good commercial food is better than a incomplete raw one. There are guidelines available. I make a big batch and divide 3 days worth into sandwich bags and put these into a freezer bag that can be reused; put into freezer and take one sandwich bag out at a time. I put this in a pint glass jar; I'm thawing one in a glass jar in the fridge when I get down to a day left or day and a half while using one in a glass jar in the fridge. I keep all Bella's stuff in a plastic tote in the fridge. I just pull the tote out, fix her meal, and put the tote back in the fridge. Easy peasy and healthy too.
I can vouch for a raw diet for cats. My cat started to have some health issues on dry cat food, so we began giving her wet canned food. She resolved some of her skin issues. Then we switched her to a raw diet. It was miraculous how much more playful and bright-eyed she was. She lived to be 23.
@@jaydencparker4968 She ate raw liver and wet catfood for approx 1 year. I wish I knew earlier in her life. She probably would have lived longer than that. It was striking how alert she became within a week of introducing the raw liver.
@@greenerpastures1000hi ,what exactly did you use beyond the liver? What type of wet food? If you prepared something, what /how did you prepare it? Thanks For any help in advance ❤
Lmao, my vet recommended that brand for my cat. No way that those ingredients are healthy. Typical of the medical establishment. Raw or close to raw is the way to go. This video is timely.
Sooooo many vets give very bad advice when it comes to feeding cats. Cats are carnivores, and should never be given dry cat 'food'. Unfortunately most vets in Australia sell brands of dry cat food and so now there is a huge increase in kidney disease and other diseases because dry 'food' is the opposite of a natural meat diet that cats are designed to eat. The Conscious Cat website has several aware winning articles about the dangers of dry food. Shame on vets for recommending it.
Yeah my vet put my kitty on Royal Canin Renal Care, dry food! And been reading that dry food is linked to kidney disease in the first place, what the heck. Going raw is definitely intimidating for me but this video helped me quite a bit
Thank you so much for posting this recipe, I was lost for a way to have my cat eat something. He’s got CKD, we found out recently and the vet prescribed omega-3 capsules and a specific cat food for renal cats, he did eat his food but he didn’t like it very much. This recipe saved my baby boy 🥰 he loved it and I’m sure he’ll grow strong again (we started the new diet today)
I hope you don’t mind me asking, Ana, but how is your fur baby doing? I am considering this recipe for my 15 yr old girl who was just diagnosed with renal failure. Feeding her canned foods but even the best of the best is sub-par in my opinion.
@@amandasnyder8600 this was the recipe that worked best for my boy, he loved it and used to follow me around the house wanting more. Unfortunately his case was too serious and he didn't make it, but his vet approved of this food, so I believe it's a great option for your fur baby
@@AnaMenozziLivros Oh I am so so sorry to hear that your little darling crossed that rainbow bridge! 😢 Thank you for your input- it sounds like it helped him stay interested in food and kept him hydrated!
@@amandasnyder8600 thank you ❤️ he had a good life and enjoyed his meals besides CKD. Hope your little fur ball likes it as well!! Wish you all the best 😘
Hey, recipe looks great! But I would definitely add some taurine in the food, I know you've used beef heart but it just doesn't meet the cat's taurine needs of 100mg per day. Also, if it's an option for you, try visiting a vet who formulates raw diets for cats with kidney disease, that way you'll rest assured that you're cat is getting all it needs!
With kidney disease it is key to improve blood flow to repair the kidney. And since liver has high choline, which narrows the blood vessels, it should be given in very small amounts, if any, and not on a daily basis. Choose chicken thighs meat, beef and turkey. Check adding some beetroot juice to the meat to activate nitric oxide to dilate the blood vesseles.
What a beautiful cat!! I hope Bob does well on his new diet. I am intrigued by the recipe. I will consider it for my fur babies. Thank you for the info!!
I can't wait to get a kitten! I will not be feeding it any cat food from a shelf! My grandma fed her cats liver and fish and they were pretty happy & healthy.
My wife has a bunch of street cats that she feeds random food leftovers And 2 scottish. The scottish cats get shelf food and their health is poor The street cats are strong and active and healthy
I've been researching this myself for my cat. One thing I've seen over and over is not to use the raw egg white for cats because it causes malabsorption of some essential nutrients. My cat really likes dry food, so I'm worried my guy won't like this but I'm going to try. Thank you for sharing!
Okay one tip!😁 I read that cats prefer eating out of a saucer with very low sides. They say due to whisker stimulation from thier whiskers brushing up against the sides of a bowl they really don't like that and it can deter them from eating and enjoying thier meals...tried it with my kitties and I think there is truth to it.
Thank you so very much for this video!! My baby has kidney issues so she went on Royal Canin but it shot her calcium levels way too high and she lost funcion of her back legs. The vets had no idea but I took her off of the food and she is back to normal. So I will need to start making raw food! Is there anything we can supplement the Beef Kidney with? It is so hard for me to find. Thank you!
I’m going to check with my vet but I really appreciate this video and would love to do this for my cat. I just feel that he deserves the best I can possibly give him. I’m giving him the hills kd wet food right now but this seems healthier by far.
My girl of almost 17 years was dx with kidney disease and not sure what stage. She is acting fine and eating and drinking well. Her BUN is 48 which is high and her Creatinine is 3.9 high also. I purchased the Science Diet the vet recommended at a cost of $38 for 4 lbs. she ate a couple of bites two days ago but not much since. They will refund the money and I think that’s what I’m going to do. She’ll never eat it bc a: she doesn’t like it, d: it’ll go stale. She’s the pickiest cat I’ve ever had along with her brother who also had kidney disease and high blood pressure. He was on meds and lost so much weight. So I’m going to try your diet and hopefully we can keep her around a few more years. Thank you
How are they doing? My cat got diagnosed with KD and liver issues. He was mostly dry food and wet on weekends diet before diagnosis Thursday 7/13/2023. He lost a lot of weight and I know he’s not liking the prescription foods. He likes savory flavors and textures (no colorful dry kibble). I hope his recipe is gold cuz it looks complicated and I would be experimenting if I tried anything else.
Tried this with my 14 year old cat that has kidney disease and he loved it! It's the first day so hope he'll eat it again tomorrow and the day after...
Thank you so much for sharing this! I've been wanting to switch my two cats to only animal products for a while now, especially since I began eating carnivorously myself, and this looks like a great recipe to try. I'm glad Bob is doing well on it😍
My recipe is mostly with chicken, organs eggshell powder and yokes (no whites) because cats do not normally eat cows. If I do give them beef, it's very tiny cuts for snacks bc this is not their natural prey. If you could ever give your cat frozen mice, that would be ideal as well. Rabbit is also good.
Thank you so much. I have three seniors and two 5 yr. I also have a white shepherd with allergies. I have her on grain free salmon dog food, but I want to go raw again. My problem is she cannot have poultry or beef. Venison, Rabbit, and Salmon were recommended -which can be expensive. I do not know where to even look for Venison and Rabbit. Also, Facebook says the page is gone. Is there an update video, how’s your kitty ?
Hi. I notice this is two years ago. I was wondering if you have an update on the recipe? I have a ten year old cat with hyperthyroid. We are just starting on our raw food diet. I’m a little overwhelmed. LOL
Hi! Thanks so much for sharing this cat food recipe! I’m going to try it out for my kitty. You list sardine oil but didn’t mention it on the video. You also mentioned jn the update video that you had replaced 50 gr of beef w/salmon - 50 gr also? And if making this replacement do I still need to add the sardine oil?
This is great! I'm planning to get a cat soon and will feed it raw. My husband wants a dog and wants do the same. The improvement in pet smell is alone enough of a reason for me, not to mention all the health benefits. I used to live in a big city where you could get frozen raw all meat cat food at specialty pet stores. Not so much where I live now. I have an unrelated dairy free question. Did you cut out butter when you went dairy free? Also, how long before the bumps on the arms disappeared? I have the same thing.
Hi! You're very thorough and I'm going try your recipe. My 2 older girls are CKD and hyperthyroid respectively and the one with hyperthyroidism has reacted badly to methimazole so I'm going raw for both of them. Did I miss when you added the oil? Thanks very much! hyperthyroid
Hills and Purina and Royal Canin kidney care all have rice and by-products as well as caragennan (spelling) which is terrible for humans and animals. It’s used as a thickener. Thank you for sharing.
I'm so grateful I found your video!!! THANK YOU!!! It's so detailed. My boy Cobie is real sick with kidney disease and his brother just died a month ago. Can't wait to try this! How's Bob doing? Any tweaks to the diet? Thank you for doing this!!!!
Thanks for the focus of this recipe. I've been making raw food for my cats and there are only a couple comments that I would make 1) make sure to either use small fish-derived oil or one that says it is purified of the heavy metals that larger fish accumulate. I just recently got fish oil capsules at Costco very inexpensive. And 2) my recipe comes from catinfo.org and the advice there is to use non-commercially ground meat...flash bake to remove bacteria and grind your own...also, I've been using chicken which actually has less phosporous values than beef. Thank you again! for posting this renal diet homemade recipe. I plan to make it with the addition of taurine, small-fish oil and the chicken rather than beef.
I'm a plant based eater so making raw for my cats is awful for me because i also have cows & they are my babies. 1 question did come up- is there added taurine in your recipe? I know cats need that amino acid. Also I'm taking care of another cat with ckd & wondered what you have fed that's commercial canned food? Any suggestions would help. Thanks for making this vid.
This is why I ask the vets so many questions regarding healthy foods for cats. Never been crazy about vet recommended processed foods. No, cats are never vegan. They are not designed for that.
oh this is perfect thank you SO much, we just discovered that your 18 yo cat has one kidney down and the other is suffering from having to work extra to compensate. We've been feeding for years a mix of cat food without grains or veggies, just pure meat/organs water and added vitamins and home cooked meat, organs and some fish, and after being on keto then carnivore myself for a couple of years now we had already been trying to go for fatty meats , but it's of course still too high in phosphorus I was about to go look for ideas on the net and I come across this video because I watch many of your carnivore vids, great timing :D
It appears that on the table where the cat food is being made there is a container of what looks like Morton Lite Salt. Was that supposed to be in the recipe? Thanks! Great job.
@@Healthhomehappy You can go to this page, it's a very good calculator for everything you need in the mix. catladyfitness.com/my-diet/raw-food-recipe-calculator/ Also, she has a TH-cam Chanel related to raw food for cats, if you´re interested.
Great video! I thought I saw sardines in your recipe but none were added - do you add them when feeding to keep them separated? (I read on a raw feeding sight that they shouldn’t be kept in the same container)
Hi! Do you know of a treat for my cat who has the beginning of kidney failure? She really misses her nightly treats. Thanks so much. Anyone, please let me know PLEASE? TY!
Do you have an update? My 16.5 year old cat is now having kidney disease. She has eaten frozen ready made raw food (Mush) plus a little good quality cooked (Pure&Natural-just to get her to eat the raw food bcs she wasn't used to it.) But now she pukes every day from that and I took her to the vet and they ofc prescribed kidney food which I think has horrible ingredients....And she puked from that aswell. And now she won't eat it. I would like to keep her on a mostly raw diet but don't know what to do.... She looks incredibly healthy after eating raw foods for years. Good muscle mass, extremely shiny fur and very playful. The veterinarian and the nurses were very impressed! But she is going to deteriorate quickly if she is going to be puking every day....and ofc horribly hard on her...My last cat got to be 20 even though I didn't give her the best foods (bcs I didn't know any better) and she deteriorated quickly on the kidney food. But puked more from the regular food. I would very much like to hear an update about this. I know it's several years later but anything you can tell me about how this worked would be much appreciated.🌞
My cat is a Cornish Rex, she’s 16 with kidney failure... correction, had kidney failure. My recipe is different and has more additives. I do chicken thighs, chicken livers, chicken hearts with gizzards. 5 egg yolks, vitamin b complex, vitamin E, lite salt, Alaskan salmon oil, and a good amount of Taurine (what’s found in chicken hearts). Ground up is great for older cats, chopped up into chunks has more protein for younger cats. I like the egg shell idea, as I’m always looking to tweak my recipe for my senior cat. I make a lot more and my cats eat 4% of their body weight. Anyways, I enjoyed your video!
@@alicem6420 Eric's recipe resembles one I found (and used) from Dr. Pitcairn's book on Natural care for dogs & cats. That diet and book were recommended by our holistic vet. It was meant for "healthy" cats. I stop using that recipe since Jasper was diagnosed with Stage 2 Kidney failure. In my research, I found that Dr. Lisa Pierson is taking a break from helping clients customize diets such as for kidney disorders. She would review their medical test results notes so every diet is specialized. Bummer, that I missed that. I am still searching for.a way to make food for my CKD cat that is low in phosphorous but with high enough protein and fat to help weight gain and prevent further muscle wasting.
@@singingwonder7144 I am going to try a recipe I found in "Natural Health for Dogs and Cats," by Richard Pitcairn, DVM, PhD. I do think just slightly heating up some of the meat is probably generally safer, and Mixing some fruits and vegetables/greens in for antioxidant benefits overall health.
Can I add 16 ounces of water to each meal and warm his meals to lukewarm? My cat won't drink any water, so I literally add 16 oz of water to 1/2 can of KD. Otherwise I would be doing sub-q fluids.
Kidney disease has increased dramatically since the introduction of the species inappropriate dry cat 'food'. This is an excellent article that explains why. consciouscat.net/2010/04/05/the-truth-about-dry-cat-food/
Thank you so much for this video! Very helpful information. Do you feed Bob once per day? I feed my guy twice per day (still the typical science brand food...) but wondering if OMAD for kitties is beneficial too!
I do, but he doesn't eat it all at once. He does have kibble out in a feeder too (the prescription kidney diet brand) that he gets if he's still hungry. He doesn't eat much of it though and prefers the homemade.
Thank you for the reply! That’s helpful to know Bob still has the prescription brand from time to time. I’m going to start transitioning my guy over to raw!!

Hi, give me an answer. I am watching your videos from Srilanka. My cat also has a kidney problem. My doc told me not to give him any meat, fish, milk or eggs. Then how can he prepare his food and not eat it?
Cats must have taurine that's found in chicken hearts, if you're not using chicken hearts, you will need to add the taurine. They also need Vitamin B, Vitamin E etc. This recipe cannot be used long term. (I've been listening to Jackson Galaxy.)
I want to start with feeding raw. Please tell me can this recipe be used for healthy adult cats or just for CKD cats? I have 2 healthy seniors and another 2 around 4 years old. Can these cats eat this?
I thought high protein diets were bad for pets with kidney disease. What’s your take. I’m a raw food high protein maker. Just lost my 20 yr old female to renal failure. I’m wondering if it was age or the high protein raw
I know this video is old. But what if my kitty Maggie, her phosphorus is fine now. But her creatinine is high, so her vet wants me to go with low-moderate protein? I’ve only been feeding her wet food since beginning of 2020, grain free, and have let her chew chicken bone, but not as her whle diet obviously. Vet told me to stop letting her chew chicken bone. Her previous wet food was around 11% protein. So what about protein/creatinine with this recipe?
Hi, my cat had kidney failure. He loooooves this recipe. Recently he got diagnosed with parasite, my vet says it’s likely from eating raw chicken. Just wondering if you think it could have been from the chicken liver/kidney? Can I take that out or do you think that would throw out the balance needed for him?
If you take out the organ meat you need to do a lot of math to make sure you meet the RDV of your cat's vitamin/mineral content. If the raw meat had a parasite, you would have gotten it, too had you eaten it cooked. Cats do not get human illnesses like salmonella- think about it- do feral cats cook their prey? Their stomachs handle raw meat just fine. Make sure your cats are indoor- only, and cook off surface bacteria that can come from humans in the oven at 250 degrees for 20min before blending. Supplement with a probiotic to transition. The meat that goes into commercial cat food is exponentially worse than human grade.

Trixie & D
Did you use the recipe and how's your cat now?
How is ur kitty. My baby was just diagnosed
How is your cat doing these days on raw food?
My only comment would be to feed him on a plate or shallow bowl to avoid whisker stress. When I did this for my cat, he started eating much better.
Agreed. Bob's bowl is deep for a cat.
I think it's really cool that you're doing this. Really interested in seeing your results.
this is great!
I hope many people see your video and move their pets to appropriate raw meat diets
our dog got cancer about two years ago and we thought she was going to die (she was 13 yrs old at the time) we eventually found the info from the Keto pet sanctuary in Austin who are doing trials on the effect of the keto diet on terminal cancer they have had success in outcomes extending the life of most of the dogs treated past the expected time.
We put our dog on the suggested diet of raw meat, fat and a small amount of a carb and she is still alive currently and fully recovered her mobility, although some of her tumors still remain.
I hope many people see your video and move their pets to raw meat diets
I pray for continued healing for your sweet cat, in Jesus' Name.
Yeah, Im in Australia too and wow. My girl loves raw and Im using this to my advantage.
How’s your cat going on raw?

I do homemade raw kitty food mixed with a little commercial. Just make sure you use a good source of taurine like chicken hearts. Taurine is not optional. No taurine and the animal goes blind and has heart disease. Don't use too much liver because of the high amount of vitamin A; too much A can kill. Also, make sure you use grass feed beef for B12 and enzymes . Chicken has no B12. I add a little organic pumpkin for fiber.
WARNING:
Use only raw egg yolks not egg white because raw egg whites over time will cause a difficiency of B1 Thiamin --which can cause the death of your pet.
All great advice!
Hi, this is such great input thank you! If it’s okay to ask, what can be substituted for beef kidney? It is so difficult to find where I’m from
Hi, would you post your raw diet recipe, please! I'm so confused with not knowing what to feed my cat with CDK, it's worrying me and stressing me.
@@MissHappyKate she has the raw recipe in under the video where it says SHOW MORE!
Can i ask? How many grams of pumpkin did you add?
I can vouch for a raw diet for cats. My cat started to have some health issues on dry cat food, so we began giving her wet canned food. She resolved some of her skin issues. Then we switched her to a raw diet. It was miraculous how much more playful and bright-eyed she was. She lived to be 23.
How long was she on raw diet? That's an awesome age to live to
@@jaydencparker4968 She ate raw liver and wet catfood for approx 1 year. I wish I knew earlier in her life. She probably would have lived longer than that. It was striking how alert she became within a week of introducing the raw liver.

This is AMAZING thanks so much cara😍 . I'd much prefer to feed my pets home made foods vs the factory farm meats sold as pet food.
"He loves it" is what I also love to hear. Thank you for sharing. Hope Bob is happy and doing well
Lmao, my vet recommended that brand for my cat. No way that those ingredients are healthy. Typical of the medical establishment.
Raw or close to raw is the way to go. This video is timely.
Us raw feeders call it Science Death.
Going raw is definitely intimidating for me but this video helped me quite a bit
raw.. but what kind of meat d you recommend? is it fish chicken or lamb beef ?
@@nono-wc6gc I'm guessing that bird- chicken/ poultry is the closest to what a cat would eat in the wild, so maybe the safest.
Just tried this today- omg my kitty is sooooo happy. Thank you so much for this recipe.
What a beautiful cat!! I hope Bob does well on his new diet. I am intrigued by the recipe. I will consider it for my fur babies. Thank you for the info!!
He's doing great! I actually recorded this about a few weeks ago and I'm getting ready to make him more food now!
I can't wait to get a kitten! I will not be feeding it any cat food from a shelf! My grandma fed her cats liver and fish and they were pretty happy & healthy.
Just beware of eating a fish-heavy diet as it is high in iodine and it can cause fish-dependency, where they will not want other types of meat.
My wife has a bunch of street cats that she feeds random food leftovers
And 2 scottish. The scottish cats get shelf food and their health is poor
The street cats are strong and active and healthy
Thank you!
How did it go with the raw diet?
Hi I wanted to ask how Bob's results with his thyroid have been after making these changes
It's been about 2 years and I was wondering if you could post an update on raw food diet and your recipe.
Acabo de encontrar esta receta para mi gato , justo cuando más lo necesitaba , gracias ❤️🥺
How is your cats condition now? Did u add taurine as well?
@@shuaibsiddiqui8339 my cat crossed over in April.
I knew I loved your cat before I had ever seen your furry friend!

Hi, what if you can't find beef kidney? I've searched everywhere including abattoirs. Thanks
Do you have any concerns about using raw egg in the food? I'm not Rocky Balboa, so I wouldn't eat them raw either. Thanks!
oh this is perfect thank you SO much, we just discovered that your 18 yo cat has one kidney down and the other is suffering from having to work extra to compensate.
We've been feeding for years a mix of cat food without grains or veggies, just pure meat/organs water and added vitamins and home cooked meat, organs and some fish, and after being on keto then carnivore myself for a couple of years now we had already been trying to go for fatty meats , but it's of course still too high in phosphorus
I was about to go look for ideas on the net and I come across this video because I watch many of your carnivore vids, great timing :D

Thank you for sharing your' recipe. Of the fish oils you recommend do you know shich one would be lower in iodine?
It appears that on the table where the cat food is being made there is a container of what looks like Morton Lite Salt. Was that supposed to be in the recipe? Thanks! Great job.
Hey is your cat still on this diet? If so how is he/she doing? Also have you added any supplementation to the food like Taurine?
He's still on this and doing well. Yes, we add 1 teaspoon of taurine to the batch now.

Do you have an update? My 16.5 year old cat is now having kidney disease. She has eaten frozen ready made raw food (Mush) plus a little good quality cooked (Pure&Natural-just to get her to eat the raw food bcs she wasn't used to it.)
But now she pukes every day from that and I took her to the vet and they ofc prescribed kidney food which I think has horrible ingredients....And she puked from that aswell.

My cat was diagnosed with kidney and liver disease. He has a jaundice since last 3 weeks. He was hospitalized for 5 days and was on IV fluids. With the same Hills prescription diet to go with. After we took him home, due to the IV tube inserted on both of his hands, he cannot move his hands and legs properly and he is paralyzed to his bed. I'm literally helping him out to his litter box everytime he wants to poo or pee.
So because of his condition, we are grinding his food to a paste and feeding him by medicine driopper. I have no idea if I'm doing right but unless I do it, he won't eat on his own and won't live long. Please anyone can help me here in some advice. I love our baby boy more tba than my life and I'm ready to do anything to see him walk and eat on his own again
I have the same condition, but for me once i saw that fluids are making him more sick, depressed, and unable to walk ( he took fluids for 2 days only) i stopped it and felt this is going to kill him, not the kidney issue, the depression and stress im putting on him,, i started making him homefood, he is starting to become energetic again thankfully i realized it before its too late
What about using ground Turkey ?
I have a 3 year old cat that was just diagnosed with extreme kidney failure. I aslo was given that Hills Science Diet for Renal failure and the ingrediant list is hightly questionable. I have ground elk and or moose that i could use in leu of the beef?
??? ? Should we use organic meats???
I'm woundering if it would be better to break the feedings down to 3-4X a day instead of all at once. Kind of like a🐁 little 🐁 mouse 🐁🐁🐁X a day .
Does your cat eat one of those containers a day? My cat eats about 5 oz a day. How has your cats health been since starting the raw diet?
If you've made any improvements with this recipe please let us know.
