The difference in our worlds... When I walk alone at the middle of the night people avoid me and go to the other side of the street. I can even go through dark alley shortcuts cause I look like the danger.

And he met a blackout drunk guy just lying on the ground, face down, in front of the street crossing. Asked him if he's alright and left him alone

I was in the underground once and this pregnant woman entered, and there were no free seats, so I offered her mine.
She looked at me in the eyes and said "I am not pregnant".
I didn't say anything. I slowly sat down again, and proceeded to stare at front, very quietly.
It was such a weird experience.

I had something like this happen.. I was working at a grocery store bagging up this women's groceries.. Btw I'd always call the girls Ma'am or the guys Sir cause it's polite (unless they were really young.)
And I asked her "would you like paper or plastic ma'am." And she flipped out on me saying "You DO NOT call me that, I am not old. you ***************************** (many explicit words later.)
The guy behind her when she left was like "wow she didn't need to do that, you were just talking politely." So that made me feel better.. But I was so close to crying. I mean my first job ever week 1 and I get chewed out for what felt like hours (but probably only 10 minutes.) by this random woman cause I was being polite..
Sometimes no matter how nice or polite you are, people will take it the wrong way, or just straight up not care that you did it for them... Sucks but what can you do.. ^_^

Had the seat offering incident too. After several older people got offended when I attempted to offer my seat in Japan I stopped. Ironically as mean as the states can be, generally offering your seat to someone especially if they are older is a welcomed gesture. But, in Japan it seems to be a sign of weakness like you are saying they are incapable or something lol.

3:06 This bit is similar to Vietnam, where I live. If a woman gets harassed by a man and yells out, there are times people will ignore the commotion because they would assume it was a couple fighting and don't want to get involved.

that woman who yelled at enna for bumping into her (whilst others were too but they were japanese) could've thought since you were asian but not japanese, you were S.korean and thats why she was mad. The only reason im thinking this is because ive heard from a few people, a fair few things about japanese people being quite racist towards S.koreans (but also other foreigners in general too sadly)

  • @sonicloyalfan

man, I kinda hoped that was just a thing in anime. like how American media makes drug dealers out to be like literal demons. a bit of cultural exaggeration. IRL Japan really sucks don't it? I mean my country (USA) sucks too but we might actually be slightly better on this one specific thing.
