Absolutely! 😁 That’s what this sketchbook is for me. I don’t know why it’s so different to my others.. perhaps the cost of it and the fact that it’s so small?! It also holds all the media I like to use really well. It’s so perfect 🥹
A red thread! That’s very interesting ☺️ I have been playing with abstract art lately and that has me painting all over the place and experimenting with new colour combos and lines and marks. Exciting every time I sit down to paint! And also very scary and unknown! 😅
I have some of the same art goals as you. I actually am trying to teach myself realistic pet portraits but I’m still trying to find out what things I like to do. I joined an art community on twitch in January and they’ve been so inspiring and it helped me reignite my passion for art!
Oh it’s always good to join communities for art inspiration! 😍 I love Skillshare for inspiration I love watching other peoples classes! I think I might still enjoy the realistic art if I hadn’t of monetised it before I was really ready 😅x
This first painting was rather Christmassy with the red and green ❤ anyway, to answer a few of my own questions… My favourite artwork of is the cat tongue drawing from 2018. Just love it. I also procrastinate a LOT till 9pm. I usually get going around 3 or 4pm. I wish I didn’t do that, but I seem to be at my best after a late lunch. My art supply hate…I think Gelatos because they’re nasty and sticky and smell funny. I might have said oil pastels but I’ve been binge watching BlackBeanCMS recently and now I really wanna get some! Number 1 has to be Washi tape that doesn’t stick 🤬 Also, I don’t think I realised how many questions I spammed you. Please don’t feel like you have to use them all.

I used to like creating straight away as soon as I wake up for a couple of hours with a coffee and it used to set me up for the day but I haven’t done that at all lately. It was a good habit! Never used gelatos but I don’t even think they make them anymore?! I feel like I’d like them because I do love oil pastels. I’d love for you to try them again to see what you think with a fresh mind 🤭 I simply must answer all of your questions! It would make my anxiety bad if I didn’t answer all the ones I’ve received 😂 plus, I love the questions and I’m grateful to you for asking them! X
There's only one thing worse than washi tape that's not sticky: the washi tape that's too sticky and destroys your paper. I was unfortunate enough to fall for the cute design but it's a nightmare, it tore everything so far, even if I only had it on for half an hour. (I have more than enough in my collection but it's the same as with new sketchbooks, sometimes you just have to buy it. I probably need therapy 😂)

The best sketchbooks are the ones that you don't feel precious about, honestly. At least in terms of freeing your mind up.

Hate vine charcoal…just got some in my last sketchbox and made my husband throw it away 🤬
Ergh I remember having some of that once! I don’t like using charcoal at all 😷
