Been going through a lot of your videos and like them all. I expect to be using my HS-1132 more now in a new location, and I want to keep it reliable. I like your style and the videos are just fine. Easy to follow explanations. No need for slick production and definitely don't add any annoying background music, just keep doing what you're doing! You're great and so is your camerawoman!
Every time I watch one of your videos I'm reminded how much better Honda snowblowers are designed and built compared to everything else on the market. I have an old Craftsman I inherited from my late father that I'm restoring. I have to split the machine in half to remove the auger assembly. I still learn a ton from watching your videos too. Happy new year! You're doing a great job!
Great video, just got done with two HS 624 wheeled blowers. Both had seized augers and your video and advice saved me mucho $$. Also saved a possible catastrophic failure. Invaluable information and advice. THANK YOU ANTHONY!!
Just what I needed as I was looking at my auger I told myself should check YT before doing anything and there it is the best YT video for Honda auger many thanks.
Thanks for the reply I just finished to maintain my auger on my 928 HS it’s been over 20 years and it was great help to maintain my auger it needed it but everything was fine in gears. Cheers.
Very nice of You to show us how to service our machines, making them last a whole lot longer and cost effective way also, and sharing all Your Experience witch saves us the trouble You had to go thru to get it right !! Awesome Video, was so surprised when the whole auger system just pulled out !! ;-)- Thank You Very Much !!
Highly recommended service point for your Honda HS624-724-828-928-1132-1332. For the HS50-55-70-80 you have to remove bucket to remove augers and impeller.
I have watched a lot of your videos and they have helped me service a 928. Recently I send a828 to my tenants in Truckee. The shipping company dropped it off the pallet and mangled the auger box. Honda Honda says it's no longer available. I am wondering if you have a used 828 auger box and a set of auger.
hope you collected some insurance $$. my suggestion is buy a donor machine with a blown engine or tranny. Last time i checked those buckets are still available. a 928 bucket is same size.
If you didnt want to take the augers completely out could you just take the main holding bolt on the side & spray like Fluid Flim down the shaft to help with lubrication, then just take out the shear pins & spin the augers to keep them free spinning?
not necessarily. they will still work but wont cut as well. you may have to go slower. make sure blades are not bent. you can straighten with large crescent wrenches. this augers are very expensive. thanks for watching.
it's gear oil. very infrequently. i check the level every fall .That's more important than changing it. it doesnt get hot in there so i don't worry about it. Not sure what Honda recommends. I have had gearboxes that are 30 plus years old where the oil looks new still.
@@HondaSnowblowerEnthusiasts311 Super helpful video. I have a HS828 with auger frozen to shaft on one side. I have an oxy-acetelene torch to heat the shaft as the video suggests and am wondering if one could wrap the gearbox with a wet rag and have water dripping on it while heating to possibly save the oil seals. I would like to free up the shaft from the auger, but am not thrilled about heat causing me to have to tear apart the gearbox also. Any thoughts on trying to keep the gearbox cool while heating the shaft?? Thank you.
I got a honda HS80 but im struggling getting the impeller and augers out. i want to spray paint the whole thing but its stuck even tho im loosing the pin to the impeller cuz there is no pin on the gearbox or whatever its called. Hope you or anyone can help me :D

Brylcreem, "A Little Dab Will Do Ya." They still make that stuff!
Thank you!
thanks for watching . Friday gonna have a video on protecting your auger gearbox , reasons why the break , etc.

What would the process be for an H55?
HS50-55-70-80 augers rarely need servicing but you can check the same way. remove shear pin and see if auger spins freely.
If you didnt want to take the augers completely out could you just take the main holding bolt on the side & spray like Fluid Flim down the shaft to help with lubrication, then just take out the shear pins & spin the augers to keep them free spinning?
Yes. great idea. I have mentioned this in other videos. Thanks .
yes. check out our Facebook group facebook.com/groups/180228506224122
How can you raise auger from the ground on a HS80?
you mean leaning back on handlebars? i lay a counterweight across the bars so it will stay that way.

Should the augurs be replaced if the teeth are worn down to nothing?
not necessarily. they will still work but wont cut as well. you may have to go slower. make sure blades are not bent. you can straighten with large crescent wrenches. this augers are very expensive. thanks for watching.
Thus question has probably already been addressed but here goes anyway: do you need to replace the oil in the auger gear box?

@@HondaSnowblowerEnthusiasts311 thx so much for taking the time to address this
