Southern US dude here. Bud Light is not a beer for drinking, it’s a blight on humanity. I hate it with a passion. I’ve actually had Old Speckled Hen, Fuller’s London Pride, and Newcastle. I love all three, but unfortunately Newcastle is now contract brewed in the US.

When I'm in the USA, I get odd looks when I order a beer and ask for a glass. Most drink bottled beer straight from the bottle. Everyone stood around slurping away. Not for me.
As a Canadian, we drink our beer straight from the bottle. But, of course, for big bottles, we use a glass. I am sure these would taste better in a glass, but it would have to be an ice cold glass as we hate warm beer!
You drank 7 of the easiest to find beers in british supermarkets.....I really like British real ale and the only one I would consider drinking is the London Pride. You need to check out some of the vast array of golden ales....JHB, Citra, Proper Job, Summer Lightning, something from Badger Ales and if you are lucky enough to find it one of the Tring brewery range....there are many more though.

Sorry but of all your videos which are usually wonderful this one is the abomination To say London Pride tastes like Bud anything is just silly . Your sense of smell provides much of the flavours that you taste thats why Ales need to be drank from a glass, you are drinking Ales not generic lagers which mostly taste like water.Drinking straight from the bottle there is no way you are going to get the full hop tastes
I think you should have tried these beers as draught beers in a pub. Bottled beer is not as good as draught. No Beers from Wales - Try Felin Foel or Brains SA.
Don't forget to finish your drinking session in the traditional British manner. Finish off all the beers (even the Bishops Finger tastes good if you leave it to drink last), go to your local railway station and pick a fight with a random stranger. Finally go to the town centre and have a refreshing nap in a shop doorway. Enjoy.
Brewdog have many fine beers, Elvis Juice is my fave , although I have recently discovered Triple Hazy, 9.2%, tastes mighty fine but , oh! Is it potent!!!
The bottles aren't large, they are pint (ish) well, 500 ml, that is a normal beer / cider serving London Pride isn't great beer, it's bland and watery.

For environmental reasons, I prefer what is locally produced. Of course, there are so many localities that you could put together videos for every region and still be releasing them when you're 90... I have no single favourite that I can recommend to you. Eastgate Ale from Cheshire, Brodie's Prime or anything from the Hawkshead Brewery in Cumbria, Ubu Ales from Warwickshire, Adnams from Suffolk, Bath Ales - all are worthy of trying, in my humble view, but even they are not a representative list. Out of the seven you featured here, I would favour Old Speckled Hen - and if you liked that one, you should definitely try Old Golden Hen as well. Your appraisal of London Pride reminds me of a line from "Porterhouse Blue," in which the Head Porter character, played by David Jason in the 1980s TV adaptation, lists all the things he dislikes about London, finishing with the point that "worst of all, the beer is p*ss." (It's not true of all London beers, I hasten to add!) Just a question about the Newcastle Brown (or "Newky Broon," as it is called in the vernacular): were you drinking it at the optimum temperature? It's ages since I had any, but I recall that the star on the front of the label changes colour to indicate when it is correctly chilled. I believe it tastes rather better than brown water then.

When I did drink, I didn't like beer. The only one of those I've tried is Newcastle Brown, which was really popular amongst my friends when I was younger, but I really wasn't impressed.
This is more of a Southern beer tasting session which are normally more famous for bitter style ales and warm flat cask ale. I am a massive fan of Golden Hen though. I know I'm being pedantic haha but I had to suffer this living down South for 6 years.
Yes I like Spitfire but for me Britain's best bottled beer is The Bishops Finger. Also a Shepherd Neame Kentish brew. Directors or Wadworth 6x ate joint second but they are both better on draught.

Cornish Rattler is my favourite cider ever. Each year when we go to St Ives on holiday we always stop off at Healy's Cyder Farm near Perranporth to stock up on crates of Rattler, Pear Rattler and Cornish Gold. Beer wise Skinners (Truro) is my favourite Cornish brewery. They produce Betty Stogs, Cornish Knocker and Lushingtons. We went for a brewery tour at Skinners in Truro a couple of years back and got absolutely trashed. We were allowed loads of full pints as part of the tour.

Old Speckled Hen was a thousand times better when it was brewed by Morland in Abingdon, the Greene King version just doesn't do it justice.

I don't drink, so I don't have a favourite beer. When I did drink, I didn't like beer. The only one of those I've tried is Newcastle Brown, which was really popular amongst my friends when I was younger, but I really wasn't impressed.

This is more of a Southern beer tasting session which are normally more famous for bitter style ales and warm flat cask ale. I am a massive fan of Golden Hen though. I know I'm being pedantic haha but I had to suffer this living down South for 6 years.
Yes I like Spitfire but for me Britain's best bottled beer is The Bishops Finger. Also a Shepherd Neame Kentish brew.
Directors or Wadworth 6x ate joint second but they are both better on draught.

Yep, Bishops Finger for me too. Loads of Kentish hops in it, which is probably why Alanna didn’t like it. It’s really bitter! - as it should be.

I don't know if it's the same in Canada, but in the U.K, especially England, instead of "wasted" or "drunk" you can use any adverb......e.g. "I got totally gazebo'd" or "I was completely harpooned"......

Doom bar is a session ale so pretty easy to drink. More of a golden ale myself ! Try some rattler cider if you see it from Cornwall.
Cornish Rattler is my favourite cider ever. Each year when we go to St Ives on holiday we always stop off at Healy's Cyder Farm near Perranporth to stock up on crates of Rattler, Pear Rattler and Cornish Gold.
Beer wise Skinners (Truro) is my favourite Cornish brewery. They produce Betty Stogs, Cornish Knocker and Lushingtons. We went for a brewery tour at Skinners in Truro a couple of years back and got absolutely trashed. We were allowed loads of full pints as part of the tour.
