As much as I want to go back to Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 o can't is too expensive. I bought land in Guatemala. Building a small house there next summer. Retiring there. Forgive me my people. I want to go back to my home land..but I can't. Between taxes. Politics and land been bought by foreigners. O can't compete..I choose the next best option
Many are returning to their own country and start living from the land!
My wife and I are going back this week after almost 30 years. Antillean University also my alma matter. Great to have puertorriqueños going back home.

Goodness I love this. Two things are big assets with a move like this. Some men are handy men. I could think of 3 men in my family who are masters of working with their hands, fixing things, and working on all sorts of things. Those guys would have a much easier transition. Also if you have a country background, like the lady in the video who knew that she was looking at ginger, it would really help with the transition, also. BUT, that said, with all the information that's available online, that's what the rest of us would have to rely on to make something like this work.

The list of "challenges" that they have is because they live way up in the mountains. When you live in a city like San Juan or Ponce, you will find all the variety of products you want in local supermarkets or Walmart. I get Amazon Prime deliveries in Ponce. Maybe a day or two later than in The States, but it's pretty fast.
If I were ever to return to living in Puerto Rico, it would be en la isla. I really miss the peace and quiet. San Juan is another story. I could live in Isla Verde or Condado as long as I didn’t have to drive anywhere.

How is it for people that are not vaccinated would it be difficult to leave in the island
Many non vaccinated come and go often to the US. Currently there is no law that prohibits travel for non vaccinated in Puerto Rico

I moved to Puerto Rico from Chicago and lived there for 4 years, presently still have a home there but had to forcefully leave to Texas. The tyranny and hostility is disheartening in the island. I still cannot believe how the Religious community has not stood up to the vaccination mandates. I think it's the highest form of hypocrisy I've ever seen. When you need to show a vaccination proof or test to get into a government building or even an Olive Garden to eat with your family... it's mind blowing! I'm so sad for the island and all it's bureaucracy. The Government is a sad case! The island it self is precious and magical. And truth be told I miss it everyday. The way it use to be!

Good luck with your endeavor but you couldn’t pay me enough to live there. First off everything is overpriced the electricity works when it wants sort off like the worker in all the business. The water is constantly not functioning and don’t get me started on the drivers on the roads. The hospitals are functioning like they are in the 70’s.
