- A laser module that can be attached to "most" 3D printers so you can use the 3D printer as a laser engraver. I am surprised how easily you can turn your 3D printer into a laser engraver! This module is usable on most 3D printers, not just the Creality printers. It is a 10W laser. This might be of interest to you.

Here's to a great recovery from the surgery. That piece of equipment is now a double edged sword. And it appears to be a sharp one too. I loved the engraving on the putty knife. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
Thank you very much, Glen, for the well wishes. I had a meeting with the surgeon today and found out that I will need further surgery. Apparently cancer was found in the appendix and they think it has drifted into the colon. Oh well, just another adventure to go through. 😃😃😃

Great product and projects Gord! You got me thinking, kind of intimidated by the software. Your thoughts, thanks and glad you are feeling ok.
Glad you like it, Dick. Actually, the software is not nearly as intimidating as I thought it might be. Lightburn is the software I use and there are a ton of videos on TH-cam to help with any questions we might have. I am far from an expert but I am able to do a lot with it after just a little practice. The only thing that isn't wonderful about Lightburn is that it is not free. I believe it has a 30 day free trial and then it has to be paid for. I think it was $60US which I think is a very fair price for what you get.

Really cool tools there Gord. Unfortunately, with my budget I'll have to stick with my dull pencil and finger paints.
Seriously, that laser is super precise so the images you engrave are so very clear. That coupled with a quick changeover to the 3D printer make these two toys a great match. Great video my friend. Glad to hear you are feeling better as well.

Hi Gord. Very good video, thanks. I watched another one where the guy said that this system will only work in offline mode (button press mode) if the file on the SD card is written by Lightburn. Wont work if writtenwith other software. Do you know anything about that ??

When you did the 8mm bamboo you set up with the 1-3mm gauge height and were too high to allow it to burn through. You should have been on the lowest step and that might have worked for you. Can you gap the laser this way and try it again?

It sure is handy in the fact it is a two in one machine. The TTC450 CNC router will take a laser module as well. I wonder if you could make it a CNC laser? Now that would be interesting. I just might have to give it a try LOL.

Gary, I can’t see why you could not fabricate an adaptor to mount this laser module on a CNC router. The tricky part might be finding the software to run it. You’re right, that does sound interesting.

I think Two Trees has all that taken care of. It already has wires to run a laser module and they sell one for it. Pretty low powered but good for someone with limited room.

Had a meeting with my surgeon today and I guess I’m not finished with the surgery. It turns out they found cancer in the appendix and it looks like it has spread to the colon to some degree. Back under the knife at the end of June to find out just what’s going on. Oh well, just another adventure! 😁😁

I have never tried it myself, Kevin, but I believe if the glass is properly prepared (glue stick?) it should work just fine. Sorry I don't have personal knowledge to share with you!
@@GordonRock1 Thanks. i did see other videos of 5 w laser engraver printing on acrylic coated with black paint. I think it should work. anyways i have ordered ender 3 with the add-on laser module. I will see for myself.😇
