      Don't trust people too much. I learn this lesson when my ex used me for money and dumped me later. My ex owed me $12, 000 but he refused to pay me back.

      Please don't learn the wrong lesson. Sharpen your ability to spot the dishonest ones, but also sharpen your ability to spot the honest ones. They're worth the effort. Trust isn't a personal failing. Betrayal is. Don't bet the farm. Anyone who asks you to bet the farm is looking for a sucker. People who are worthy of trust are sensitive to what degree of trust is appropriate. Trust is a line of credit. It must be built over time. And finally, people who refuse to trust are miserable. Always. People who are willing to risk(the appropriate amount of)trust occasionally get stabbed in the back, but they are invariably happier than those who aren't willing to take the risk. Good luck.

    A neighbor in the building has been my greatest challenge and learning experience for 22 years. This video provided so much for reflection. Lying, manipulative, egocentric, no respect, harms others, psychological problems, no empathy, and superiority describe it. Yesterday she showed another side by asking if we could talk about the building administration later in the day. I agreed. It never occurred. Then late in the evening when I was going to retire, the motor that vibrates on the bedroom wall was running so as to prevent me from sleeping. I realized I had been set up for manipulation to provoke me. I kept my cool and slept on the floor in another room until it was quiet. I saw yesterday for what it was -- manipulation by an evil person who has no empathy. Stoicism helps me be a good person.

      Matthew Chapter 7 Verses 15-20 . You Will Know Them by Their Fruits
      15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

      When a person displays these 'fruits' in their personality, you know they are walking the talk .
      In his letter to the Galatians, St. Paul lists the nine fruits of the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control (Gal 5:22-23).

    I almost empathized myself into the grave. At a point, I had to choose boundaries, empathy from a distance, yet ultimately indifference is what has naturally occurred with the distance and for my mental health. Smear campaigns can't hurt as deeply when they aren't using the things about your life you confided in them. They will still make up lies but it doesn't cut a deep.

When I advised her that her husband should refrain from encouraging our aging population to move heavy furniture around, as he was doing, she got mad. no one is good or bad it what we do that defines us not what we say I can say I'm good all day but then if I go harm someone then I will be defined by that we all have shade of grey I see the good in everyone mostly and the bad too from the worse people we can think off like Adolf hilter or Vlad the Impaler they something good in there in life even though they are defined by wat they ended up doing I can find something good and bad to use and take the good without identifying with the actions of the person that we know are bad that doesn't mean we love these people this not black/white thinkers

    • @l.5832
      @l.5832 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It is the INTENTION that determines the nature of the person (good or bad). A person who is motivated to love and be truthful will not be telling lies and intentionally hurtful because it causes cognitive dissonance. It is what is in the heart. A person with a selfish heart can outwardly do generous acts but doing it for ultimate selfish gains so outward acts are not the determining feature. We don't always know what goes on in the heart of a person. Your willingness to overlook hateful actions in people and only look at perceived 'good' behaviours is setting yourself up for a world of hurt. In order to determine as best you can, the heart of a person, you need to know them well and observe actions, words, and intent over a period of time. And still some are very good deceivers.

But not that of pain of circumstance or true malevolence........but not long ago I was watching these bike prank videos where they'd leave a bike out but someone steal it. Seat was rigged with a stun gun. Or ones where they'd tie small cable on it like 30 ft. Soon as person stealing it got on it and taking off a guy come out nowhere chasing him or her and then ......yank...over the handle bars they go. To me that was funny. I might not be right for that.
