I have that on my 2017 Prius Prime. It really makes highway driving so easy, and traffic jams so easy. Mine doesn't pay attention to the nav system's idea of what the speed limit is, and I think that I'd definitely disable that setting if it did. The one thing to be very careful of, is when using cruise control in other cars. Don't forget that a car without this feature will drive right into the vehicle in front of you. I got too used to the feature, then when using my older car that I kept as a spare for a while, I almost drove into cars in front of me while on cruise control. I had to keep reminding myself which car I was in. If anyone has any trouble keeping that straight, I'd advise them to stop using cruise in vehicles without the adaptive radar cruise.
My Bronco does that too. It actually drives itself around corners too. Crazy. But dang better put earplugs in if it sees police lights or any kind of emergency lights. Whew.... scared the crap out of me. LOL
This is literally the only “driver assistance” that I haven’t turned off on mine. Beware, it’s using your brakes constantly so they will not last as long as they could without the adaptive cruise.
I fully understand using the brakes at low speed and in traffic, my complaint about the system using the brakes is mostly when it overshoots the set speed with no one in front and uses the brakes to slow. It’s not the end of the world, but I don’t expect to get the same pad life as I was used to on my 2017. Only time will tell how much reduction actually happens. I’m almost amazed that the adaptive cruise works so well when every other system seems to have been thrown on the truck without fully sorting it out.
@@dbkonkle that's my only complaint. Not that I'm worried about pad life but it doesn't need to slam on the brakes when the speed limit changes. It could just let off the gas. Or even lighter on the brake. It doesn't need to go from 75 to 55 in 10 feet. A test drive person should have addressed that in the programming.
Someone mentioned one of the wrist weight that straps on works well for him. You can turn off the cruise adjusting to speed limit signs in the settings. It really isn’t well implemented at all. There needs to be a maximum speed that can be set, if I’m towing I don’t want to go 75 or 80 mph just because the speed limit went up.
Tim, can you yell at our neighbors to the west and north to close the dang barn doors. I just cleared a foot of snow here in Northern NY. Gotta love lake effect snow....not! 🙃😀

Very fancy! I sure do wish my truck had that feature... Good luck!
So nice

But you are using your brakes anyway when you are in a traffic jam

The lane centering is awesome when you bungee cord a water bottle to the side of your steering wheel. Lol I mean… That's what I have heard
