I met Ted vernon with my family we went down to his lot we are from Cincinnati Ohio and he was very down to earth and one of the nicest person we met down there and no matter what people say about his cars they are old and thats what make them special love to Ted from Donnie Ratliff and his family
My wife and I stopped by a few years ago in our way to the keys. Ted was a gentleman. I gave him a wall hanger for his collection, he reciprocated with a signed piece of Ted memorabilia for my wall. In the words of Ted ….. “he’s a cool guy”. 👍🏻
I was his mechanic before, during and after the show. Dream job but man they worked me hard, too much drama too. Alot of those cars were there when i left 10 years ago, hes added alot too

The problem is not that his cars are "rust buckets." The problem is that people want a flawless car but not spend any money on it. If you want a perfect car, then you buy a brand new one or you buy a classic that's been fully restored. Most of his cars look like restoration projects and if you're not in for the task then you keep it moving.
This economic "Bermuda Triangle"/ "Just print more cash" is about to call the chickens home to roost. Cannot blame you for selling off the property & excess vehicles while you can! So many are ignorant of macroeconomics & monetary policy.
Ted is good at the hustle. The true fact is that he has been selling that property since the day he bought it - it’s al old line of his that he rolling out again to roll in the buyers. It’s always a good con when you can draw in buyers eager to buy because they think you are losing money or that you are under the gun to liquidate. A year from now Ted will still be selling his cars from this same location. He does have a lot sale proof cars that he is tired of tripping over that he would like to sell so he can have some space for new inventory

A little over 40 years ago, I watched Ted beat a much younger guys ass in a boxing match in Coconut Grove. Dude is real tough guy! He is an American original! Although he has always sold interesting cars, most of them are junk.

He drove around in a Rolls Royce Phantom and had a drop dead gorgeous trophy wife who worked in the office with him. Also had a young chap who did all the car cleaning. HELP....back in around 1982 I was on US1 in south Florida. Saw a company. I think was called The Candy Man. They had awesome cars there. Some from movies like American Graffiti and Indian Jones. I can't seem to find find any information on it. I know it was on US1 and up and down that strip, we're expensive exotic cars. And Lamborghini and Jaguars ect. Anyone know??

Update 03/19/2023: Ted arrested for kicking and punching Robin after a heated court battle.
Fun fact: Ted 1st car was a Nash and he use to be into boxing.
