Are you familiar with late Prof SHERIRIF's work? (seventies) First he translated Jacky's thesis: Surprise: Jacky's formula has solid theoretical background. Second he designed a stress meter that accommodate zero displacement of the screen. Third he tested many many soils (sands and clays) under all kind of conditions, and came up with correlations of Ko and other parameters such as Liquid limit, Phi, OCR etc Looks quite cool to me. How about you ? May be you can say one word about this work ?
