  • Sidney Crosby continues to live up to his generational hype as he's now tied with Gretzky for one of the craziest stats of all time. The Pittsburgh Penguins also made a crazy comeback against the Devils to keep their slim playoff chances alive. That and more in today's NHL hockey video!

    If he didnt miss large parts of his best offensive seasons he'd probably be hitting 2000 points around the same time Ovi will be hitting 900 goals. Such a shame we were all robbed of that

      Yeah back in crosby prime nhl stars were allowed to be hurt now if someone would injure mcdavid like crosby was he would get banned from league. Locks out as well crosby could be chasing 2000 points and Ovi 1000 goals. Both had to suffer from new deadpuck era too. I think crosby 100 point season in 2014 would now equal easily 130-140 points.

      @user-we2yt5on9b 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      He only missed about the equivalent of about 2 seasons, so your projection of 2000 points is a bit off, but the fact remains that he would have been even more dominant playing full seasons. Health and longevity are crucial. Starting in 1949, Gordie Howe missed a meagre 20 games over 21 seasons. Sid has been healthy since 2013 and seems to get stronger. When his career ends, Crosby will be seen as one of the all time greats with Gretzky, Lemieux, Orr, Jagr, Yzerman, and the rest of NHL royalty.

      @@user-we2yt5on9bIts actually two and a half seasons. So yeah. If you average 1.3 ppg withn 211 games missed you get around 280pts. So he actually would be very close to 2000. Probably 1850 points.

      @@joelmacdonald6994 Gretzky missed the playoffs his last two years in the league, with the Rangers. His last year there he was still their best player and could have continued, but he saw they were a sucky team with no prospects for being good and he just retired because he didn't want to move to another team. Then the Rangers missed the playoffs the next five seasons.
      You wonder if Crosby would retire in the same circumstances if the team's immediate future looks hopeless (as it does). If he would stick it out and just play with a lousy team, like Gordie Howe did at the end of his Red Wings career. Or if he'd look to get traded to a good team. I've thought over the years that, like Gretzky, Sid would end up on the Rangers. I still think that. (I think McDavid & Matthews are going to end up on the Rangers too, eventually. Everybody does.)

    Crosby is the most complete hockey player in the world for about the last 8 seasons. Ovie doesn’t even come close to his all around value. Mount Rushmore for sure.

    Gretzky did not get 19 consecutive PPG seasons, he was 19 total. Sid is 19/19 consecutive. The GOAT strikes again.

      19 point per game seasons. Means he's scored at least 82 points for the last 19 seasons.

      @@ThingpngNot exactly though. He had some shorter seasons due to injury and concussions. He still averaged a point per game for them though and he would easily have cleared 82 points those seasons
