- That point in the semester where we start getting into Tools & Analysis within ArcGIS Pro. To ease into this next step, we covered how to Dissolve, Clip, and Generate a Near Table. This is followed by running the Average Nearest Neighbor (Generate Report). Data used in this video are for Little Rock, Arkansas.
Examples:
Dissolve - Used the LRSD school block zones and dissolved this blocks to reflect the larger elementary school zones.
Clip - Using the 2020 Block Groups layer that intersect Little Rock, we clip the block groups to the City boundary. Following this, there is an example of how to clip the streets layer to the smaller Stephens Elementary Zone, resulting in a subset of streets for Stephens Elementary.
Near Table - Using homicide and aggravated assault from CY 2021, we examine how close (near) each incident is to a vacant/unsafe property. From here, we can "run" statistics on the distance column to see the descriptive statistics for the distance.
Average Nearest Neighbor - Using the homicide and aggravated assault data from CY 2021, we examine if these incidents are closer to one another (clustered) than what we would expect by chance
Excellent, make more videos about spatial statistics please.
