Mirrorless cameras shake a lot becuase of how small they are. Also possible he didn't have the IBIS turned on. More weight on the rig can help with the shake as well.
Embarcadero plaza???!!! I had the opportunity to rip the O.G. in ‘89 or ‘90 on a Tom Knox, Indy trucks and 97A OJII’s. Never forget those days. Also hit the China Banks and the Fountain at Golden Gate Park the same day. Such a rad experience for a kid from Illinois back then. Hella road trip. Much love everyone!
I think you gotta tweak those settings on the camera.. the jerkyness was totally giving me a headache..... But mad props for the board drop! Thats so rad!
The issue I find with mirrorless for skating is that they’re so light that it’s hard to keep them steady. Even with a handle. It’d be nice to have a gymbal handle but I don’t know if anyone makes those and if they do, they’re probably mad expensive.
For sure! I think when I get the camera I will try to add some weight to it one way or another. Thought about experimenting with gimbal on low slung mode as well. More to come!
@@killatape i think I just found what I was talking about. Search for FeiyuTech AK2000S gimbal on amazon. That’s the only one I’ve seen that has a handle like the ones we use for skating. Worth looking at 🤘🏽
When you change the weight on the camera it TOTALLY changes the game on how it works and how you have to adapt your technique. It's kind of like getting a new board and figuring out how to kickflip on it. This one was a tester and we are stoked on how things turned out. Stick with us and watch how smooth it gets over time. Joe is one hell of a lensman.

I've addressed the shake in these comments already. As for the mic- I had to use the internal audio for this shoot. The Sony shotgun mic I brought with me to use runs exclusively off the camera's hot shoe, which was unavailable with the handle/cage system I borrowed. Didn't realize that until I got up there and started setting it all up with the cage. Any way, these are all little kinks that will be worked out when I get the camera for myself and really dial in the rig. Thanks for tuning in!

The "video game look" you're referring to is not the camera at all, but the lens I was using in that park. I actually didn't like the look of it as well, and that's why I switched to my usual fisheye lens after that session. The camera is a beast and future footage will show you why
