I know and agree that immigration regulation is important but i have a feeling that illegal immigrants arent nearly as big of a problem as its made out to be. they probably will. if 11 million are illegal, a small % of that (maybe 5-10) are actual threats and otherwise bums/leeches off of our system. that's like 1 mill+ which is a huge task on its own. plus the ripple effects of dissuading future illegals and collat on other people remaining who don't want to chance it, the effect should be massive. maybe even an influx of previously decade-long illegals trying to legalize after the fact (through whatever means) to avoid the small chance they get got
