But I've been seeing these videos for the Pajero 2 and it's Solid Axle, and it's like a Mountain Goat where it can go. My car was listed for $15k, managed to haggle for 11k. Had my brother inspect it for me, so basically bought sight unseen. Realised it was flogged. They replaced motor and timing chain recently ($6k job ?) but no receipts. Previous owner was a sparky. So I spent another $3k on it myself to clean it out, fix small things, full flush, new AT Tyres, and new radiator. So total is $14k so far, almost stock (tow bar, nudge bar, spotties, roof rack, awning, stock wheels, Bluetooth headunit). It has 340,000 km on the Odometer, and when timing chain was changed it was 270k. It loves to drink, getting around 15km/100L from highway and around 18km doing in-town/low speeds. Live in a remote town, roads are non-existent and lots of corrugations. All my trips are small (less than 5km/10mins) so I didn't want the hassles of the Diesel (DPF clogging). Petrol is just easier to clean and service. But yeah that high mileage doesn't look good, for petrol, and for the price it is. I think I could have done better, but do you think I did bad overall ? By the way, found someone who wanted to sell me their Mitsubishi Shogun Evolution. That's the homologation off-road race car. They made like 10,000 of them globally just to qualify for Dakar. For $20k, unregistered, and likely needed some work. It would have been worth it, as they are super rare and go for $60k. But having something that cool, I don't think I would be able to drive it off-road. I would fear something breaking, dint, or scratches. And I specifically wanted the Pajero 4 for being modern, super common, for parts and whatnot. Any thoughts on that ?

@@magnumllama400 this actually had 2” body lift. I thought it was 3” as some had 1” factory body lift to clear the bigger gearboxes but that was the 2.8 not the 2.5. I was mistaken

I have a 3 inch lift like you do and 35's on it do I have to change the panhard rod? It's a bit Shakey and it wiggles slightly sometimes if I reach 60kph and up? What do I do to make my pajero Jr to drive perfectly?
No it’s not necessary but will give you even more articulation. If you plan on flipping balljoints you need to use high tensile bolts, use loctite and ensure all mating surfaces are ultra clean.

@@tylerdeluca7409 ideally you’ll need an adjustable pan hard rod. And the rear brake line and diff breather tube need extending. The brake line can be lengthened by any hydraulic hose company but if you’re tight like me, I have 2x front brake hoses linked from an NL Pajero.

He loved it more than his Toyota LC, I never understood that until i started driving it myself, even after 13 yrs it drives and roars like a new truck off road and on road. Ben Castleman hi there. Is yours lwb or swb? The options on springs are less for swb. As far as shocks I use updated Pajero front shocks and updated 4Runner/Surf shocks for the rear
Ben Castleman not used their stuff before. But I know people who have (not Pajeros) and are happy with them. I’m currently using toughdog shocks in my lwb

kalaus m depends what you use it for. A 32" AT is a good all rounder. But if you like the mud a 33" will give you better clearance and a mud tyre will give you better grip. Look at the last video I uploaded to see my 33" extreme mud tyres.
@@sandrokemashvili3575 I have increase boost using a boost Tee. Check out my video for 4D56 as it’s same principle for 4M40. And the fuel is turned up at the main fuel screw and the boost compensator. Also have videos on this. As long as you run an egt and boost gauge you won’t do damage as you can monitor everything
James Milnthorpe bought for $3k and have probably spent $7k on mods. That includes twin locked and Arb winch bar and winch which I got after this video.

32’s will fit no problem. If your front suspension is sagged you may need to wind the torsion bars a little

You need to mount the upper balljoint on the underside of the arm and use spacers

I had 2” body lift, 2”-3” suspension lift. And 35’s are 4” bigger that the stock tyres (giving 2” lift) so all up I had 6”-7” of lift

They were Ultima brand. 355305 or 400305. One part number is for oil filled and one is gassed filled. I had gas ones.

You can. But you’ll have virtually no down travel on the rear. Maybe see about a bolt on shock absorber extender

Unfortunately yes it does. It’s the price you pay for huge tyres. This was a weekend warrior so not a big issue to me.

Ben Castleman headlights are H4. Unless it’s an import like mine in this video which has sealed beam headlights

kalaus m it's a 2.5 with more boost and more fuel. It's a bit under powered but the 5.29 diffs I fitted help a lot.

Jaidyn Steele I had to fit longer rear brake hose, and had to relocate a few things for body lift such as bumpers.
