I had myself convinced that I needed a drum carder to process the load of alpaca I just brought home but now I think I'll find/make myself a hackle like that.
Hi, I have about 2-3 lbs of short fur leftover from other projects, is it possible to blend this with a long roving, like shown here, to use the leftover furs? The fur is about 1”. Is that too short for a blend?? 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️✌🏼
Would be interested to know what you did with that fibre in the end, as I’m processing some cheep fleece and ending up with a lot of short cuts that I’m wondering if I can make useful in some way.
What's the advantage of using a hackle and a dis over a drum carder or hand carders? Seems like it would be easier to use a drum carder rather than forcing all that fiber through a tiny dis.
This is so fun to watch! A hackle may be my next too!
I'm just starting to learn how to dye my own yarn and hand spin. This whole video is so interesting and amazing!
this was really amazing to watch the fact that you do it all by hand amazing
Rewatching in 2019. Thank you again :)

I love your videos! Will you make a tutorial on how to make your own tools?
That was sent too soon... could you also make a tutorial on how to spin with a spinning wheel?
I don't make my own tools, but I can do a spinning on a wheel tutorial :)

Can you tell us what temperature you used for setting the dye on the fibers? I'm so scared to dye unspun fibers! Thank you!
I always get my temp up to 80 degrees Celcius
stupendo

Very informative!!! Thanks! :)
Hi Suzy, learning from you all I can. Terry
