Do you think that a Muslim woman having a *true commitment* towards hijab ( as Allah's command) should wear sarees in public places, gatherings and programs leaving her make up layered face and forearms uncovered? Even if the whole body is covered, most women wear attractive designer sarees in a body hugging manner where body shape is revealed. In such programs and gatherings ladies /girls wear sarees *to beautify* themselves, not to *hide their beauties* which is a *Precondition* of hijab mentioned in the Quran. It's quite impossible to wear sarees fulfilling the criteria of proper hijab and practically we see that 99.9% women don't do that. So isn't it a better idea to wear sarees at home as an element of adornment and beatification infront of husband? This could be the perfect Islamization of sarees.

আমাদের দেশের মেয়ে/মহিলাদের শাড়ির ব্যাপারে একধরনের সহজাত দুর্বলতা বা ভাললাগা লক্ষ্য করা যায়।
আবার দেশীয় সংস্কৃতির ঐতিহ্যবাহী পোশাক হিসেবেও শাড়ি অনেকের দৃষ্টিতেই খুব শালীন, মার্জিত ও নির্দোষ একটি পোশাক বলে মনে হয়।
অনেক দ্বীনি বোনও শুধু "শাড়ি পরে পর্দা করা যায় ও ঘরের বাইরে বিচরণ করা যায়"---এমন একটা ফ্যান্টাসিতে ভোগেন।
অথচ হিজাবের কথা বলতে গিয়ে আল্লাহ্ তাআলা গোপনীয় সৌন্দর্য প্রকাশ না করার কথা বলেছেন। আর সামাজিক অনুষ্ঠানগুলোতে নারীরা সাজ-সজ্জা ও সৌন্দর্য ফুটিয়ে তুলতেই শাড়ি পরে শতশত মানুষকে দেখিয়ে। কেউ কেউ শাড়ি পরে নামেমাত্র একটা স্কার্ফ দিয়ে মাথাটাই ঢাকে শুধু। থ্রি-কোয়ারটার বা কনুই পর্যন্ত হাতার ব্লাউজে হাতটাও ঠিকমত ঢাকেনা, খোলা মুখে মেকাপের আস্তর লাগায়। এসব অনুষ্ঠানগুলোতে ১০০ জনের মাঝে এমন ১ জন মহিলা/মেয়ে খুঁজে পাওয়া দুষ্কর যে কিনা হিজাবের বিধানের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধাশীল হয়ে সাদামাটা ও মোটা কাপড়ের শাড়িকে ঢিলেঢালাভাবে নিকাবসহ হিজাব পালনের নীতিমালা মেনে পরিধান করেছে।
তবে এমন অনেককেই দেখতে পাওয়া যায় যারা শ্যাম ও কূল দুই-ই রাখতে গিয়ে ফেস্টিভ লুক ও সাজ-সজ্জার উদ্দেশ্যে শাড়ি পরেন এবং সেটার মধ্যেই আক্ষরিকভাবে হিজাবটুকুও পালন হওয়ার মিথ্যা শান্তনা খোঁজার চেষ্টা করে থাকেন!
বাস্তবতা একথাই বলে যে শাড়ির সার্থকতা হল সৌন্দর্য ও সাজ-সজ্জা প্রকাশ করার মাঝে। আর সৌন্দর্য ও সাজ-সজ্জা প্রকাশ এবং হিজাব পালন- এই দুইয়ের মাঝে সত্যনিষ্ঠ সমণ্বয় আদৌ সম্ভব নয়। হিজাব পরার দাবী করার পরেও যদি কাউকে এটেনশন সিক করার মতো সুন্দর বা আকর্ষণীয় দেখায় তখন তো সেটাকে হিজাব বলা যাবেনা।
প্রথম আলোর নকশাসহ বিভিন্ন পত্রিকার লাইফস্টাইল ও ফ্যাশন বিষয়ক ফিচারগুলোতে শাড়ির নিরন্তর বন্দনা,,, বিভিন্ন গল্প-উপন্যাসের রোমান্টিক নায়িকা চরিত্রের রূপায়নে শাড়ি পরানো, অনলাইন-অফলাইনের বিভিন্ন পরিমণ্ডলে শাড়ির ব্যাপারে **পুরুষদের** কৌতুহলী ও আসক্ত দৃষ্টি, ভাবাবেগ ও মন্তব্য ইত্যাদি প্রমাণ করে শাড়ি নিছক সাড়ে বারো হাত লম্বা একটা পোশাক নয়। সময়ের ব্যবধানে বিবর্তিত, বিকশিত ও প্রজ্জ্বলিত বিপরীতমুখী আকর্ষণের অনুঘটক!
বিভিন্ন পরিধান রীতিতে দেহকে আবৃত রেখেও সবকিছু প্রকাশ করে দেয়ার স্কোপটা শাড়িতেই সবচেয়ে বেশি---এই ম্যাসেজটাকেই আকাশ সংস্কৃতি তথা মিশ্র সংস্কৃতির এই যুগে মিডিয়া আর বিনোদনের মাধ্যমগুলোতে শাড়ি পরিহিত নারীর উপস্থিতির মাধ্যমে তুলে ধরা হচ্ছে।
অনেকেই পর্দা রক্ষার ক্ষেত্রে শাড়ির নেতিবাচক দিকগুলোর কারণে শাড়িকে *সম্পূর্ন পরিত্যাজ্য বিবেচনা করে বসেন* ।
অথচ বাসায় স্বামীর জন্য সাজসজ্জা ও আকর্ষণীয় সৌন্দর্য প্রকাশের উদ্দেশ্যে শাড়ি একটা *আদর্শ পোশাক* হতে পারে।
আল্লাহ্'র হুকুম আর আনুগত্যের সীমারেখায় নারীরা তাদের সহজাত নারীসুলভ শখ আর আহ্লাদকে জলাঞ্জলী না দিয়ে পরম সার্থকতায় রূপ দিতে পারেন যদি তারা ঘরে প্রাইভেসী বজায় রেখে স্বামীর জন্য সাজসজ্জার উদ্দেশ্যে শাড়ি পরেন।
এতে একদিকে স্ত্রীরা ঈবাদাতের নেকী পাবেন। দাম্পত্য জীবনও মধুময় হয়ে উঠবে।
