You make detecting look easy, little do people know that it really isn't easy you may go hours if not days before you find something valuable. I love detecting it the reward of even finding a wheat penny that i love. Keep up the great videos.
Loved the video and the story of the Mills. Some very nice finds. The street edges were most productive. Watch out for speeding cars. Door knocking and securing permission, that's the ticket. Great job.
I know its an older video bit I just seen it. I live in lincolnton NC and grew up in chester county SC. Right now I live in a house built in 1930. Right across the street is a battleground from pre-revolutionary war times. I'm waiting for my Nox600 to get here so I can part with this garrett ace. There are tons of mills around here and I've found many old places while out kayaking. Would you guys want to hook up in the spring and do a couple hunts? If so, I'll go ahead and start setting up permissions and scouting for more places. After retiring from the army in 2015 I've just started doing everything I've wanted to do when I was younger. So place or time is no big deal to me. Whatever works for y'all
Hey, thanks for watching the channel! We could definitely try to line something up in the spring. You will love the Nox600, great machine. Reach back out when it gets closer and we'll see what we can work out. Reach out via email, digthatbeep@gmail.com & thank you for your service!
I really enjoy your videos, The way you film the digs is just spot on. I have know Tommy for years and I love to see him and you John, going at it together. You guys are a killer team. Except when Tommy wears that Clemson shirt. Lol. Please keep up up the good work and if I ever find anything good I will post it for y'all. I am still digging a lot of trash here in Florida..
I really appreciate the kind words! Tommy is a great friend & I feel you on the Clemson shirt! Trash is part of it but since we primarily coin shoot it's a little easy to distinguish but we still dig it! Thanks for watching!
Great vid and finds! Those old mills and mill houses are great! I did some detecting at an old mill not too far from you guys in Laurens SC several weeks ago and had a blast. HH
I love how you gave a little bit of history that was cool . I know around here if we dug by the side walks they throw me in jail or maybe a big fine. You Tommy killed it on the silver and rings and great fines . Well at least the neighbor wasn't a wack- o- doo like our one video lol. Great job guys .And if like stop by our channel we are having our GIVEAWAY. Take caren HH &GL.
Christine66 thanks so much, I actually sell them on my website! www.digthatbeep.com, click on DTB Approved Products! Their not cheap but worth every penny, I will go all the way back home to retrieve it when I leave it!
Holy cow! No one gave you any trouble in that neighborhood?! I can't imagine that I could dig more than 2 holes before someone would try to shoo me off. And then the yards... How are you getting permission for all these homes? Wow
We've got a few no's but that's all part of the game, for the most part the home owners are supper awesome. We are gaining permission by what most coin shooters call "Door Knocking", it takes some practice but we've perfected it. Basically knock on a door, explain our process & how we look for small items & leave the yard looking untouched & then butter them up a bit & we have about an 80% success rate.
Was curious- in your recap video you had what looked like a watch fob or something with a 2.50 marking on it. I found one exactly the same last summer digging in Illinois- do you know exactlyWhat it is? Thanks- enjoy your videos!
Thanks for watching! Tommy found that, I'll have to ask him if he figured out what it was! Shoot me an email "digthatbeep@gmail.com" & I'll give you his email address! Really cool that you found on there!
It is public property, we do respect any home owners who ask us to skip their section or we will skip a section if it's been sodded or heavily manicured!
where is Greenville County? My mother came from Greenville S.C. and we use to stay with my grandmother at Camperdown near Cleveland Park in a Mill House when we were younger.I love your vids!
thinking about getting into the hobby. can u get detectors that look for precious metals only? in canada dimes and quarters were made of silver until 1969
There's not a detector that will only pick up precious metals, you can get very skilled with your detector which will help identify precious metals better but none will only pick up precious. Silver is also more distinguishable & easier to identify than gold. Last year I dug around 20 pieces of gold & about 240 pieces of silver!
Cool finds I was hoping to see the gun cleaned up. Do you think the ice cream man has any thing to do with the coins near the curb. If it does a really old neighborhood with a good humor route might be a honey hole.
We will occasionally but if it's something with a name we always return. We also return if the home owner tells us before hand that they've lost something & we find it. We're coin shooters so we prefer to keep our coins, we will split them with a home owner if they ask but if they don't we will keep them. Home owners don't realize that a silver coin isn't really that valuable unless you do by chance get a key date so they hear silver & assume it's worth hundreds so be careful so you don't loose all the cool things you've work so hard to find.
I live in Anderson, Tommy in Easley right near Greenville. We've been hunting them for years, cops even stop & check to see if we're finding anything. Occasionally you'll get a home owner that request you don't hunt the section in front of their house & we usually comply unless their a total but.
Tommy is using a Garrett AT pro. What shaft is he using it looks like the brain of the AT Pro is sitting higher then mine? Anybody wearing a Hoover boys with a Maryland state flag on his back is the man in my book!!! Great finds and awesome research guys unreal!!!!!
Yea, Kurt & the rest of the Hoover Boys rock! Tommy's AT Pro has been modified to the Anderson shaft & he absolutely loves it. Thanks for watching & commenting!
Thanks man, we've only had a few say anything & if they're nice about it we will kindly skip over the section of sidewalk in front of their property. I had one guy that was really rude, I ignored him & if you watch this video I live dig a Walker on the same section he was yapping about. Cops rode by but waved & kept going! th-cam.com/video/mlWzEtspQuw/w-d-xo.html
man what a killer dig I have been doing a ton of research on metal detecting I collect coins and pretty much everything that's silver or gold but I really want to get a metal detector and try it I'm looking at the Garrett ace 350 I know its a cheap one but is it a good starter? I just don't want to spend 7-8 hundred to find out I cant get any good place to hunt
That's really neat, you will love this hobby once you learn your machine & get the hang of gaining permission. I'm actually a Garrett dealer, I have a new ACE 300 in stock which is from their new ACE series. Basically the ACE 150, 250, & 350 got replaced with the ACE 200, 300, & 400. The new ACE machines now have VDI numbers, the 150, 250, & 350 didn't have them. If you're wanting a new machine I can get it out to you quickly! Thanks for watching!
If jewelry was what I was specifically looking for! I have a passion for old coins, buttons, tokens & other relics! I do occasionally go to the lake & search for jewelry!
Too bad you guys werent doing this when they put the sidewalks in or pavement... Easily double your finds i would think... But heck, awesome video and history, great video... Nice nice nice
Joe Brown I've had very few say anything, I will skip sections if they have perfectly manicured grass and flowers! Cops got called one time, officer asked what I was finding and then told me to have a nice day! I've had a few other guys tell me the cops made them leave!
You make detecting look easy, little do people know that it really isn't easy you may go hours if not days before you find something valuable. I love detecting it the reward of even finding a wheat penny that i love. Keep up the great videos.
Very nicely done... Love to hear about research that pays off and seeing the fruit of the labor. Congrats Guys!

Thanks, we've only door knocked 15% of the homes in this neighborhood!
Loved the video and the story of the Mills. Some very nice finds. The street edges were most productive. Watch out for speeding cars. Door knocking and securing permission, that's the ticket. Great job.

Christine66 thanks so much, I actually sell them on my website! www.digthatbeep.com, click on DTB Approved Products! Their not cheap but worth every penny, I will go all the way back home to retrieve it when I leave it!
what's your method for cleaning all those coins up? fun videos to watch the old country club had me envious
Thanks for watching! I use a rock tumbler & aquarium gravel on everything except for my silver & fragile relics!
Holy cow! No one gave you any trouble in that neighborhood?! I can't imagine that I could dig more than 2 holes before someone would try to shoo me off. And then the yards... How are you getting permission for all these homes? Wow

Is the grass between the sidewalk and the road public domain? No permission needed to search there?
It is public property, we do respect any home owners who ask us to skip their section or we will skip a section if it's been sodded or heavily manicured!
where is Greenville County? My mother came from Greenville S.C. and we use to stay with my grandmother at Camperdown near Cleveland Park in a Mill House when we were younger.I love your vids!

Tommy never posted any cleaned up pics of it. Never thought of the ice cream truck but that's very possible!
Hey guys, i live in Columbia and am wondering, do you need permissions for grass strips?
When you get permissions do you give any of the finds to the owners
We will occasionally but if it's something with a name we always return. We also return if the home owner tells us before hand that they've lost something & we find it. What shaft is he using on that AT Pro? Great video!
Thanks, he's using the Anderson shaft!
how many Wheat Cents did you dig?
first off was the gun real? secondly what is Tommy using for his at pro framework?

Haha, except my fro is on my face :) Thanks for watching!
+Dig That Beep haha for sure...if im ever around your area ill give you a hollar
Sounds good!
Are you guys in Greenville SC? When digging the sidewalks do you need permission?

good job brother. what do you tell people about you digging on the sidewalk, when they say what the heck? 😞

really how much for the 300 and will this machine pick up gold and silver?
Shoot me an email & we can discuss, it will definitely pick up Gold & Silver! digthatbeep@gmail.com
What was the little pistol? Real or fake? Either way awesome haul!
Thank you, turned out to be a pellet gun!
Wouldn't it make more sense to look in affluent areas to find more jewelry?
If jewelry was what I was specifically looking for! I have a passion for old coins, buttons, tokens & other relics! I do occasionally go to the lake & search for jewelry!
What ever happened to that pistol/gun? was it real or not?
We're almost certain it's a pellet pistol.
+Dig That Beep glad I looked before I asked lol
Rusty Halo Metal Detecting TM Thanks for watching Megan!
whats the deal with the gun?
Turned out to be a really durable pellet gun! Thanks for watching!
Too bad you guys werent doing this when they put the sidewalks in or pavement... Easily double your finds i would think... But heck, awesome video and history, great video... Nice nice nice
Thanks Don, I agree man. We're still looking for our first sidewalk/street tear out!
If it was a shallow find, why dig a crater instead of a small plug?
We can't all be perfect, thanks for watching!
What is the intro song please?
what about the pistol? lighter?
It was a pellet gun, thanks for watching!
okay, i got the first debate on the radio and this is way more interesting than listening to Billary and Trump argue.
Haha, glad you tuned in! Thanks for watching!
hi pop
What about the little pistol? toy?
It was a pellet gun, thanks for watching!
Cool! Thank you!
I won’t to buy your t shirt how do I do so
Damn, basketball sized holes for a dime? Yall tearing up peoples yards.
But they're not tearing up dimes.
Need some foo foo juice
I had some but I've already lost it, guess I'll be reaching back out to Kurt!! Thanks for watching!
1945 War nickle the year I was born lol. Do you get any flack from digging on city sidewalks?
Joe Brown I've had very few say anything, I will skip sections if they have perfectly manicured grass and flowers! Cops got called one time, officer asked what I was finding and then told me to have a nice day! I've had a few other guys tell me the cops made them leave!
Yeh people don't understand diggers, most are respectful of property.
Great hunt!
