    This sounds similar to the whole "Afro Americans have been telling us about systemically racist law enforcement for decades" thing. The victims have BEEN sounding the alarm. It's just that the people with the power have been keeping it down for so long.

      maybe after society deals with sexual harassment we can finally deal with racism. of course there is a lot of money in racism so i'm not sure the tv news would be as open.

    I'm relieved that this has reached a tipping point. Hopefully women can begin to feel safe in the workplace which could lead to feeling safe on the street, in a parking garage, on a bus, at school, etc. Thank you for reporting on this matter.

    Not surprised.... something ALWAYS seemed sketchy about him... the only thing that surprised me is that it’s not male victims... I thought he was gay🤷‍♀️

    I don't get it: touching a woman in a way that she does not want to be touched. Kissing a woman who does not want to be kissed. What fun is that?

    Ladies, if someone does this to you, call the police. It is sexual assault. Do not tolerate this for any reason. Not just to protect yourself, but to help protect others.

    • @danilopompey754
      @danilopompey754 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sandra, it may be sexual assault to you, but it ain't necessarily so for other women. You know that right? Fact is: most women suck d*ck; but all d*cks are not created equal, so sucking some d*cks is better than sucking others, no? Point: What is being missed, I think, is that lots of women respond favorably to a d*ck on the shoulder come on. Remember, Monica . . . she is no outlier, really. What do you think she would have done if she felt a d*ck on her shoulder attached to a powerful man? Unfortunately, the problem with most of these men is that they are just too aggressive for many women's tastes, but, incontestibly, for others, they are spot on - even though nobody seems to want to acknowledge this.

    This would explain why Halperin wouldn't comment much on all these sexual harassment and assault stories from Trump, FOX people to Weinstien. Just how in the hell does he get to keep his job on air is mind boggling. Serious think he still isn't practicing this behavior to this day?

      Sexual harassment isn't worth losing your career over. I hate to see that happen, I would rather have a man pay for it than get caught up with nonsense at work. It's just not worth it.

      Pay an escort? These are cheap bastards who want p*ssy on 'da cheap --- they don't want to court a lady... they want to take it! *They want Today's Hot Chick to pay for all the slights they endured from pretty girls when they were boys.* Notice how none of these guys are "physically attractive"? Ugh! But even ugly guys can get "some play" if they fix themselves up, learn to be charming and generous. Geesh!

    • @purvipatel6841
      @purvipatel6841 7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      A. K. Most "boys" may not be like that, but unfortunately they grow up into most men who are like that. I don't know ONE woman over the age of 12 who hasn't had at least one experience of this nature in her lifetime. So if boys aren't like this, what are we teaching our boys as they grow up?

    • @bethgriesauer3825
      @bethgriesauer3825 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Purvi Patel - Yep. Most women, if not all, have had these experiences. All "boys" don't have to be bad for this to happen. Look at how many victims just one creep can create. Tens...hundreds even. So I still think that MOST males behave themselves.

      Not every man does it. In fact, it's a small number of men who are repeat offenders, hence why it sounds like it's an epidemic. These few men, usually in power, sexually harass and assault *multiple* women and other men. So don't worry, nobody is saying *all* men are sexually assaulting people, it's far from the truth.

    • @easysnake205
      @easysnake205 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      "Not every man does it. In fact, it's a small number of men who are repeat offenders,"
      Honestly that's because most men are not in power. I think if you just considered powerful men you would find most abuse their power to take advantage of women.

These women need to grow up, nobody is guaranteed a job at a particular place.

      A, both men and women leave jobs for sundry reasons; such is life. But don't be naive on this topic. It's amazing that these sexual harassment stories seem to be all over the news these days. These stories are not new. This has been going on for many many years and there are more people in power and out that sexually harass people in hollywood,television, and the entertainment industry. Victims don't always speak out. I am certain there are more well known people in the areas I mentioned that sexually harass but they have not been exposed. Yet.

      More like when the Republicans propose tax cuts on the rich, he says that the Democrats must "compromise" or do half of the tax cuts Republicans want, but when democrats want to raise taxes on the rich, he calls them extremists and there is no talk of compromise from him.

      @ Shark Wave Sorry, I have watched dozens and dozens of hours of Halperin on "With All Due Respect" and on "Morning Joe" and "Charlie Rose" and I don't recall him saying anything like this. I have also read "Game Change" and "Double Down". Halperin is much more a political process guy than a substantive policy analyst. Off the top of my head I can't recall ANY instance in which he weighed in on the substantive merits of any specific policy. Maybe he has, but if so it is a tiny, tiny part of what he does. He is all about the horse race and the mechanics of running and winning elections. "Game Change" is I think the best book about a presidential election I have ever read, and the HBO movie by the same name is classic.

    What is this? The year of sexual harassments?
    I am hoping this is more of an advancement and change in culture, attitude and behavior; and victims are able to speak out and pursue justice, but at the same time am very wary of possible political and opportunistic motivations for some.
    Either way, it looks like a necessary change and improvement somewhere in society and the system is needed.

    Depending on how a woman views sexual harassment, half of the men in the United States are guilty. If you are a dude, and you're in management, leave every woman "under" you alone. Period. Don't flirt, don't joke, damn sure don't make sexual or romantic advances.

      I agree. It is just a matter of acting professionally. Putting legality aside, no one should act this way to a subordinate. But I would like a clarification: you mean make sexual jokes specifically when you say “don’t joke,” correct? As opposed to general, clean humor.

    • @raymondzrike
      @raymondzrike 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hazzycakes In this climate, where the typical form of accusation is through Twitter, I don’t think it is much of a risk to one’s career to speak out against sexual harassment. It mostly comes down to a feeling of not wanting to disclose what may seem to be something too personal. I give you, many accusations are for events that took place tens of years ago in which case I understand making the decision to not say anything (given you were more likely to be blacklisted). I am specifically talking about the film/media industry where there are public figures involved. In other industries where one doesn’t have the platform to generate a Twitter frenzy, silence is unfortunately seen as the only option in order to keep workplace upward mobility.

      Melinda M No.. and I admittedly don’t know enough about what happened to have a strong opinion on it. But, I do think we should be careful about classifying too many things as sexual assault to the point where people will be too dismissive when the accusations are made.

    • @mssande211
      @mssande211 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve been consistently told that confidence is what women find to be a man’s most attractive attribute... which is not being displayed if you’re asking if it’s ok to kiss the girl. I’m not excusing his behavior if he knew that she wasn’t into him, but I don’t think that’s always clear.

    Does anyone remember the "pubic hair on the Coke can" (or was it Pepsi? Whatever it was...) incident? It was a huge court case and changed sexual harassment perspectives forever. Or at least that's what it was supposed to do. Back then, I was super young, gorgeous and working as a receptionist. People were afraid to give me a compliment for fear that it could be perceived as sexual harassment. I know this because I had many, many conversations about this topic. I'm guessing that heightened awareness faded off over the years, but if these old/older bastards were living anywhere in this country (save under a rock) during the 90's they absolutely knew better. Sick of hearing excuses.

      Tyler, wake up. Most women suck d*ck; but all d*cks are not created equal, so sucking some d*cks is better than sucking others, no? Point: What is being missed, I think, is that lots of women respond favorably to a d*ck on the shoulder come on. Remember, Monica . . . she is no outlier, really. What do you think she would have done if she felt a d*ck on her shoulder attached to a powerful man? Unfortunately, the problem with most of these men is that they are just too aggressive for many women's tastes, but, incontestibly, for others, they are spot on - even though nobody seems to want to acknowledge this.

      Thank you for acknowledging this. It is a big problem and has been since women entered the job market. I think that the little holes in the dam are at a point where the dam could burst. I suspect the vast majority of women have experienced sexual assault, or sexual aggression, or sexual harassment at some point in their careers, and were too afraid of losing their mortgage payment to do anything about it. (I am in my 60's - Me too.)

    • @PSlo0over
      @PSlo0over 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You probably don't have any sisters or females in your family. Everyone I know (including myself) went through such experiences either through their jobs or otherwise. I am amazed that people didn't know about this. Don't wanna blame the victim here, but we should've spoken up about it instead of hiding in shame as if it were our fault. I guess better late than sorry.
      By the way, it happens to men too (obviously at way less numbers than women). Some men get sexually harassed and assaulted by other men (and I'm assuming by some women as well?). This happens a lot in the military and sometimes sports, but happens everywhere else as well and it's usually done to underage boys rather than adult men. That's obviously my anecdotal evidence from what I saw and heard, but pretty sure a simple google search will reveal similar results.

Talking about reserving judgment then judging him to be completely guilty and then half giving him some benefit of the doubt? Not cool. Talking about him needing to be rehabilitated for something that he may have done 10 plus years ago and with no recent stories to back them up? Is it possible that he pissed someone off and they are going after him? Don't get me wrong, it is very questionable, but I still think he is not in the same boat as Weinstein or O'Reilly.

      @TheTalonsPryde 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jennifer Hertzler interesting that you refute them but not me. I must reiterate that the mind WILL screw things up based on the trauma of the incident. And shock DOES make a mind go numb. It is PTSD and when recalled, the mind will adjust the events to cope with what has happened. It can block out parts of an event to protect the psyche of the person. It can also hyper focus on particular aspects. Either way, assuming that someone reacts in the same manner as you is critically short sighted and unfortunately ignorant.
      I am a certified peer counselor and have dealt with PTSD for most of my life. I have been sexually mishandled by peers bosses and at least two unknowns. I remember MOST details of each incident. Some I know have morphed to let me integrate and deal with them. So, if you are going to jump someone for calling you out, jump on the first one to have done so. That would be me.
