You did a great job with this hunt, even though there were no catches. Woody did a lot of flying, and ended up flying way across the open field at least a couple times! He definitely got his exercise that day and you kept feeding him until he had a full crop in the end! At 4:27, he was on the ground, but even though you held the meat within your glove, he decided to fly to a tree instead. Maybe he was figuring you were just guiding him out at the time. One thing I noticed here is that you were still hunting with Woody at sunset? How many hours do you usually hunt with him on ideal conditions? (ideal would mean no rain, his weight's not way too high, and he's persistent to keep hunting without getting tired)
Thanks for watching, at 4:27 Woody was intent on catching a pheasant and wasn't interested in my offer, he knew a pheasant was still in this area . I'm normally hunting for two or three hours , sometimes times more, this can be at different times of the day, The sunset day was finished around 5PM if I remember correctly, this was later than usual for me.
To get set up with a good mews and aviary , transmitter , receiver, perches, transport box and hawk, you could be looking at a couple thousand. A hawk is a few hounded pounds, it’s all the other bits that cost the money.
So many pheasants today!
Great video, Pete. :)
Thank you, he does enjoy a pheasant 😆
Woody gave it a good shot Pete, better luck tomorrow. 😎👍
Thanks Mike.👍👍
looked like "Treasure Island" with all those pheasants Pete........our last day tomorrow, seasons don't seem to last long.
Yes plenty of pheasant this day. It’s flown by, thanks.👍
