Flake’s keyboard melted my heart this song. Flake PEAKED in his versatile skills with variable synth and other instruments the entire album

"The night pregnant with death" is an interesting image.
Till may simply mean the silence at night that reminds him of death. He may also just be addressing the fact that most people die at night, or he may be referring to sleep, which is also known as the "little death." It is also possible that it is a combination of all of these.
also in greek mythology Nyx (the Night) is the mother of Death (Thanatos) and his twin Sleep (Hypnos)
I find it good not to be crazy. I Was completely blown away by this phrase - or in German - word. I don't know if you're a German speaker, but I think this picture is absolutely mind-blowing in German, because of the ability of the language to just line words together. Till put the word death (tot) + pregnant (schwanger) together and therefore created a completely new adjective to describe the night. Deathpregnant (totenschwanger). It's really interesting that there can be such ambivalence in one word and this makes it sound so "Rammstein" :D

There are so many layers to this song even i can’t convince myself to come to a specific conclusion. This is Till at his peak poetic best

I love your reactions to rammstein songs. You actually give effort to understand the lyrics, the meaning behind the song and at the same time you can enjoy the music as well. Keep it up!!! that being said, i'd like you to react to 'liese' by rammstein next. :)
I believe this song intentionally has an open interpretation so that each listener can hear/feel their own interpretation for themselves.
For me personally it has something of depression, fear of people or a kind of social phobia, the search for peace and hope. At night, when everything is quiet and the world is sleeping, you're wake, can hear your own thoughts and see the little shining of light of hope far away in the darkness.
Would be nice to watch a Rosenrot reaction. One of my favorite, melodic, dark song. Did not notice if there is already a react.

i just think this song is about a fampire. they even use a old horror movie sound two times
Here my maybe a little risky interpretation:
What if this song is not about mental health, but about the church and the loss of faith. I first thought of that because of the words used to describe the situation. He talks about "Sünder" sinner "Gebote" buds being broken, but cannot be seen because the night gives him cover. In the refrain he says: "immer wenn es dunkel wird, die Seele sich in Lust verirrt", which means something like: everytime it gets dark, the soul gets lost in lust. Directly after that he mentioned a fever and that: "kein Gebet und keine Kerzen heucheln Licht in unsre Herzen"- no prayer and no candles can pretend light in our hearts.
Those are only the most obvious parts that absolutely flash "church" in my thoughts. All those words are absolutely connoted with religion and could be showing how someone is not able to accept the "values" of Christianity. Important for that is the line with pretend light in our hearts. In German it's "heucheln" which is a very negatively connoted word and is often used by critics when describing the church in Germany.
Maybe some of you can share what you think of my theory and where I possibly got carried away a little. :D
