One of the first things I learned when I was taught to cook was “You can always add but you can’t take away” and I still hold onto that to this day. I need your mom to teach me how to multitask when in the kitchen lol. Cooking thanksgiving dinner is intimidating bc it’s so many dishes. Everything looked good & you did a great job! I had to use google and cookbooks to help guide me. Everything turned out great. Over the past decade, I’ve actually enjoyed my cooking for most dishes over family members’ cooking.

I made my first thanksgiving dinner about 2 years ago and followed a recipe saying add sage and my entire dressing tastes like nothing but sage lol!! I got overwhelmed and frustrated throughout the process but my family encouraged me and stated for the most part everything was good for my first try! I love cooking but I don’t think I have patience. I want to learn though so thanks for having this moment and sharing it with us! 🤎
I hear you about staying home. I prepped the night before got up early the next morning (Thanksgiving Day) and cooked my niece’s famous meatball, oxtails and put my cornbread mixture together and finished off the dressing and popped it in the oven. I made my sweet potato pies, for the first time, several days before Thanksgiving. This year I omitted the potato salad, yams and Mac and Cheese. Oh yeah, my vegetable was fried cabbage.❤
