I am really impressed with the Wii-U's operating system, I like the aesthetics of the the Wii-U OS.
Right. I purchased this for my son for Christmas, and so far I am very impressed. This system is very under rated.

I miss when the Nintendo TVii was still up
So here I was, scrolling through my old Wii U notifications when suddenly I find this application called, "Nintendo TVii". I didn't know what it was entirety, so I searched it up, and found this! I might have loved this if I knew about this app a while, while back.
It was like the AppleTV app - it was before its time!
Navigating through the different apps/features of the Wii U (even going back to the Wii U Menu) seems incredibly slow.
It was slow, it's a bit faster now but you can't ask much for a console that has 1Gb of RAM of games and apps (the other Gb or RAM is used by the system) and a slow ass processor that is close to the one used in the PowerMac G3 back in 1997...
i got my Wii U in 2014, and I'm surprised my parents never looked into Nintendo TVii. I was just a kid and just wanted to play Mario, but this is so cool! I wish we had tried it.
I loved Nintendo tvii before it was discontinued. 2012-2015

Remember download manager and friends list not available at launch and I missed the tv app my parents used to own a Wii U at launch and a Wii GameCube and much more etc. thank you for the nostalgic menu of Wii U

If you already have access to television programming, TVii can serve as a hub by which to find and access your favorite shows. It does not confer access to services you don't already have.

Not sure if this has been mentioned already. Like you gambits, I gave up cable service years ago and have been doing just fine with over-the-air broadcast tv. It turns out the TVii system does support this - just choose BROADCAST TV as ur service provider. The system will provide access to all the available channels available in your area.

TVii does not grant you access to any shows or programming you're not already receiving. I believe shows can be watched on either the TV or the GamePad.
