So "You were Beautiful" comes after "Congratulations"( which was their debut song). Congratulations shows the break up of the couple while You were Beautiful explains the lingering feelings of a relationship
And the english version for both songs are just beautiful and the meaning was much deep, i think
The one you really like is Wonpil. Sungjin have the raspy vocal. In the second video you called out Young K (but you thought it was Sungjin haha). Dowoon is the drummer et Jae the other vocalist. They have amazing vocals! And I think you heard You Were Beautiful in the video This is Yoohyeon but the song is pretty popular.
Its "you were beautiful" bcz they broke up and they were just remembering the moments they were together. there is a part that jae says "baby i know its already over" and scenes of dating break up appear.
I think it was a continuation of the Congratulation storyline.

I would recommend more of their music, also another band named The Rose, the main vocal has a super interesting voice. I recently discovered another kband called Hoppippolla... their talent is so out of this world, they've done amazing covers and have gorgeous songs.
YASSSS DAY6!!! I absolutely love day6, one of my faves by them is I need somebody, it really has that bellyache emotional singing you were talking about. A fun day6 video is Jae and Young K (Brian) singing she's gone, its totally them just goofing off at karaoke but like can I get an official cover pls lol. You were beautiful is actually a continuation of the song congratulations ( their debut song), the video has the same actors and you can see in that vid that they were broken up so this video is the girl remeniscing about their relationship even though she was the one who broke up with him.

but I really think you should react to Days Gone By for a whole retro experience, I Need Somebody if you want to feel a little bit of pain and Sweet Chaos if you want to hear an astonishing sound
there are in fact 2 guitarists, 1 keyboardist & synth, 1 bassist, and they're all vocalist, the drummer auditioned solely for that role but he's taking vocal lessons and has a nice deep voice!

So quick run down of Day6, they are a 5 member idol boy band, the first under JYP Entertainment. They debuted in 2015 with Congratulations. The five members are Sungjin (he had the raspy voice you liked in the first song), Jae (you didn't really notice his but he's another vocalist), Young K ( you confused him for Sungjin in the second video. He is also their lyricist and has written most of their songs. HES AMAZING), Wonpil (you said he was your favorite and he's cute) and Dowoon (the baby and drummer).
I recommend listening to their songs in order cuz the videos usually link to the former video. They also did a project in 2017 were they released a song every month. So you can skip those and watch it later at once. My favorite songs are Time Of Our Life, days gone by, Sweet Chaos and Zombie
I second the people recommending The Rose. Its another band group, and their main vocalist has one of my favorite voices ever. "She's In The Rain" is my fave song of theirs
Just to piggyback on some of the comments here, a lot of us got introduced to day6 through Dreamcatcher. I never knew what song Yoohyeon was singing in her This is video until she mentioned day6 during DKDTVs carpool norebang episode and I decided to check them out right after. Even Siyeon sang You Were Beautiful during her last voice Vlive. If you're planning to go down another rabbit hole, they really don't have any bad songs, but Zombie and Sweet Chaos are my personal favorites. Jae, one of the guitarists, also has a side solo project that is also great.
If you like jazzy style song, I recommend you to watch DAY6 Even Of Day - Where The Sea Sleeps!

when they debuted there were 6, but the sixth member left, you can only see him in his debut video "congratulations", they all have super good vocals, the one you said was your favorite is called wonpil and if he's super cute, and the other one that you also liked is called young K, I study in Canada so he can speak English, the other vocalist with Glasses in the mv of "you were beautiful" is called Jae also you have strong vocals and he also knows how to speak english , and the leader of the group is called sungjin I love his voice is very strong in both vocals too, and the last member is called Dowoon is the drummer, he does not know how to sing very well but he is learning there are some songs where he can listen his vocal improvement is very cute too ,, I think I wrote a lot ,, sorry .Could you react to his vocals live? they really are one of the groups with the best vocals, I recommend you react to "congratulations" "what can I say" "breaking down" and once again thanks for reacting to one of my favorite bands
Since you liked Young K's voice, i would recommend you his demos for day6 and covers (I personally love Fly me to the moon and Over the rainbow) :) I don't know anything about vocal technique but I can tell that he's great

I recommend their debut song Congratulations, a B-side called I Need Somebody (for 100000% emotion - they have a concert video of it on their channel), and their more recent song Zombie~

Hi! Here's a short introduction to Day6 for you, they all can sing (even the drummer sing occasionally with his deep voice :)) and they write their own songs. They debuted in 2015, but one member (Junhyeok) left in 2016. There's this famous saying among Day6 Fans (They are called My Day): "Day6 has no bad songs" because almost all My Days have no song they dislike in the entire Day6's discography.
JAE (2:35): The oldest, he plays the guitar and he speaks English better than he speaks Korean because he lives in the US most of his life. Often called "Chicken Little" for his small eyes and he just looks like chicken little lol. Famous for his hilarious tweets and he also streams on twitch now. He has solo stuff under the name "eaJ".
SUNGJIN (2:25): Also plays the guitar, he's the one with the raspy voice you like. He's the leader and main vocalist! He nags the maknae line a lot. Jae often calls him "Bob the Builder" because the character looks like him.
YOUNG K (2:44): or Brian, (his English name, but he prefers people call him Young K but everyone still calls him BRIAN). He's the bassist, got powerful vocals, used to live in Canada for 4 years before moving back to Korea. so he's fluent in English too He's the one who mainly writes the lyrics and raps the most.
WONPIL (1:22): Your favourite! He's the plays the keyboard and synths. Has one of the most unique vocals, part of the maknae line (he's the "adorable" one with a lot of aegyo), he contributes a lot in writing songs. He also uploads song covers on YT.
DOWOON (2:58): The maknae and the drummer. He posts his drumming practice in his social media a lot. He's an okay singer, not that amazing but the fans love it when he sings. He's a really hardworking person, and according to the members, he's the cutest member.
I recommend you to give a listen to their song called I'll Try. The vocals on that song is so on point you won't regret it! The song is written by Wonpil (the red hair guy that you really like) for his parents. The song is so good and emotional. I highly recommend that song!
These guys write and compose their own songs too! Exactly why I love them I just resonate with the lyrics of their songs so much 😭

Thanks for the reaction! I love day6 a lot! The guy with the raspy voice who you said you liked a lot in the first song is Sungjin, he's guitarist and leader of the group. In the second song you actually pointed out YoungK (Bassist though he also plays guitar, saxophone and violin a little) and thought he was the same guy as in the first song (shows how great they all are at singing haha) and the red-haired guy is Wonpil, playing the keyboard and all of our hearts (he's known as being a super positive guy and just great to be around)
Can totally recommend watching a video on their vocals and/or harmonies, they're OUTSTANDING vocalists
I was reading some of the comments and yes, please react to more of Day6's music. Their discography is amazing. I also second those who asked to react to The Rose and Hoppipolla. Both bands and both amazing. Hoppipolla has a hint of classical music in their songs since they have a cellist in the band. 2/4 members in Hoppi were classically trained.

You Were Beautiful is the 2nd part of a 2 part storyline, the 1st part was Congratulations (DAY6's debut) wherein you see the guy's perspective.
I think in the Kpop industry, Idol Bands flew under the radar for years. They don’t get the same type of attention and recognition as Idol groups. However, in the past few years and found an appreciation for them, people have started to notice bands and they have gained more recognition recently. Day6 is one of the better known mainstream K-bands but they’re still very underrated. Though they are well loved by other idols, many often cover their music.
Other good songs from them are “Congratulations”, “Sweet Chaos”, and “Zombie” but really all of their music is good.

Yes, indeed! YWB is definitely their most famous song in Korea, if I’m not mistaken. About the voices you liked, the keyboard player is Wonpil! And the voice you liked in the first video, apart from his, is the rhythm guitar player’s, Sungjin; he’s the leader as well. And in the second video, you pointed out Young K’s voice (he’s also a rapper), the bleached blond with the leather jacket. Young K’s voice is really versatile, as well as Sungjin’s. And to understand the storyline of YWB you need to watch their debut MV “Congratulations”, which is the “first part” of this MV.
I’d recommend you listen to some songs where they show off their vocals a little more: Days Gone By and Sweet Chaos are two title ones that do that. But as for B-Sides, I strong encourage you to check out Sungjin’s vocal guide for their song “Afraid”. It’s basically him singing the whole song, and it’s on their YT channel. Wonpil has one too, for “Like a flowing wind”, but his is a little harder to find. I suggest these two because you said you liked their voices better! ❤️

There's a really good chance you've heard "You Were Beautiful" before, Day6 is criminally underrated under kpop fans but HIGHLY appreciated by other idols. There's soooo many idols who've done covers of Day6 songs or just expressed their love for them.
If you like a ballad that showcase vocals of some of the member (The red haired keyboardist Wonpil and YoungK, the Bassist that you fav too), you can listen to their latest Unit Album, The Book Of Us: Gluon. Especially the title track 'Where The Sea Sleeps' where they really showcase their vocals. Also in the B-sidetracks like "Landed' and 'Thanks To' which quite 80s in the term of sound. Day6 is known for their vocals and they literally the versatile king when it comes to genre and vocals. Cause they did a lot of genres ranging to alternative rock, 60-90s hard rock (Queen & British styled rock), 90s type of slow rock, punk, pop, acoustic, reggae influences, old skool, even love and power ballads. Their vocals also fit in every type of song, but the bassist (YoungK) is known for his versatility in singing every genre that day6 created. They also known for their b-sidetracks that can be enjoyed like a Title track quality.
If you still want to see more title track MV's maybe finishing the '2017 Every Day6 Project' would be awesome. In this 2017 project, they have mandatory to self compose and release a minimum of 2 songs (1 Title Track + 1 B-sidetracks) + Title track MV + Do a live concert per month (From January to December), they have created around 25 songs in a year and split those songs in 2 Albums. You Were Beautiful is the February Release.

day6 discography is very wide in genre questions, they have songs for literally every taste and i personally love "i wait" which has more of a rock vibe. i don't know if you like reacting to covers, but if you do, you could react to youngk's covers of "fly me to the moon" by frank sinatra, "viva la vida" by coldplay or "i.f.l.y." by bazzi! youngk is the bassist of day6, he has such great vocals and he does the covers live on the place he's singing at. i hope you'll like them! and thank you so much for the amazing reactions, sir austin!

"You Were Beautiful" is sort of a sequel to their debut song "Congratulations". The main actor and actress are featured in both playing the role of boyfriend/girlfriend. You should react to "Congratulations" next, and then rewatch "You Were Beautiful".

“You Were Beautiful” probably sounds familiar because Rosé DID sing it briefly in a video! She sang it very softly, almost kind of humming, so it was very subtle but that’s probably where you heard it!

I would love to see you check out some of their live/Studio versions, they have quite a few that are uploaded on their official channel! Mostly I would love to see your take on I'll Try, Better Better and Days Gone By .. But they have so many and they are all, more than worth a listen!!!
I would also definitely recommend checking out some their solo projects to really see what they can do individually, because these guys are seriously so talented, it is kinda ridiculous! In South Korea they are often called the idols, idol, because you often see other kpop idols singing their songs and expressing their love for the band.

Young K the basist, has a series of covers that he shot live at various places in Europe during one of their tours, I especially recommend checking out Fly Me To The Moon, He also has a bunch of demos up on their channel as he writes a lot of their songs. Wonpil the pianist also has done several covers and collaborations.
Sungjin, the other guitarist, sadly doesn't have a lot of solo activities, but they recently uploaded his demo for the song Afraid of their most recent album.
If you want something else within the K-band genre, I highly recommend looking up The Rose. She's in the Rain, Sorry and their cover of ILYSB are definitely worth a listen!!

I think you were confusing him for Young K (bass) in the second video, but I love all their vocals so I don't care, you can like them all. The other members are Jae (guitar) and Dowoon (drummer). I don't know exactly what you like but my fav song of theirs is I Need Somebody. Fun fact, in 2017 they released two songs a month for the entire year. I love those albums so much. I have really been enjoying Kpop bands more (there is even one with a violinist) Kpop does some unique things

I love Day6. They were the first group whom I was a fan of since their debut. Btw, as you can see there are five members but if you react to their first music video (Congratulations, which is a bop) there used to be six but he left the group because he was in a relationship with a fan I think and that's not allowed in JYP entertainment, at least not in the first few years after the debut since it's in the contract. So he's only in that music video.
My favorite from DAY6 is 'I need somebody'. Makes me cry everytime~
