According to John Douglas, it would probably be a younger offender. The strength involved to overpower a couple, and the sheer disrespect of such an act is something that most mature adults wouldn’t dare carry out.
Unfortunately I think he had a mental breakdown, and new Hampshire winters can be pretty tough. If he didn't make it out of the woods I think he's passed on.
The 2nd story sounds like a mental break of some kind. What stay at home dad with no criminal record decides to steal a car? And he ran into the woods -are those woods pretty rugged? And what is the statue of limitations on car theft? It seems after 20 years he wouldnt even have a warrant anymore.
Yep, poor guy obviously had some sort of mental breakdown and couldn't go on. I think this has all the hallmarks of a suicide, not someone starting a new life. It would be very hard to do that undetected - and there's been no evidence of him (eg bank account untouched etc) for 20 years. Sadly he most likely committed suicide in those woods or elsewhere, and his body wasn't found.
He stole a car and wanted to vanish. I can't understand why his family would think he would be back for Christmas. He committed a crime. He is either dead or he fled to Canada possibly. I can't really seem there being any other scenarios at this point.
Agree. I don't know him personally of course, so this is presuming, but I can't see a husband and father, who's never done anything like that before, suddenly deciding to be a criminal. Then taking off to start a new life, with what? That poor man was mentally ill and snapped. I hope his family finds peace.
My previous job took me to Clearwater all the time and I forgotten about the Scientologist. Never noticed but than again I was only there to drop and pick up not much socializing. Seemed alright to me.
The Wackerhagen case is a Central Texas classic, so much so that I recognized the thumbnail before I even clicked. For in the quarter-century or so since the case was covered on "Unsolved Mysteries," I've moved to Austin, and been here for over 20 years, and it's one of the most widely-publicized unsolved cases in the area. Last I'd heard, the "third-party homicide" theory was focusing on the idea that Letitia(?) had a violent ex-boyfriend, a pattern that's been seen in a lot of unsolved murders of this kind.
Yes! I am thinking the same thing. I think maybe either her ex (or his) is responsible for their deaths. The son, Chase, might actually still be alive and grown. The ex might have raised him until he was an adult. Who knows.
You took the words right out of my mouth; that case on unsolved mysteries always gave me the creeps. What's your theory? I'll admit that I fully believed that Dub killed her and took off at first, but now I'm not so sure.
@@michelleprieur1 Thank you for asking. I’m quite convinced of all three family members being the victims of homicide. The “angry ex-boyfriend” theory isn’t hard to believe; it seems to be something of a pattern with these cases (UM had at least two more examples on record.) But we have little or no proof of such a person, to my knowledge, and the dropping off of the truck in a crime-ridden area leaves other possibilities open as well. I used to think Dub did it after the case’s first airing, but that’s because the show played it that way, making his family look like dumb hicks besides. Not anymore.
I thought he did it until they said that police believe father and son met with foul play...the cops know what happened and who did it. The unopened gifts suggest after dinner out someone was waiting at her place and ambushed them, kidnapped and stole truck dumping father and son on the way.
@@TheSaneHatter Agree. From what I gathered, Latricia had a volatile relationship with her ex husband; the police hinted at that in the most recent article I read. But there's no proof of course. The Christmas presents in the truck made me lean towards Dub killing her and taking Chance with him; his son would have wanted his presents. But would Dub had left his wallet, checkbook and vehicle behind? Beats me.
I wish that even one other true crime TH-cam channel had a good narrator. Narration is key to me. Your voice is unexpectedly effective, creepy and I love it. Also sounds like a good person behind it. Merry Christmas!
I find it hard to understand what he's saying quite often, with his weird, sing-song delivery. He surely doesn't speak like that in real life? I just can't imagine him sitting at the breakfast table with his wife saying "Could you please pass me the butter honey" in that monosyllabic, creepy way!
@@evac.7762 Yes, I discovered that recently when I stumbled on one of this channel's older videos. He totally puts on this fake-ass voice. It had to be a put on - nobody could possibly speak like that in real life!
Blaine Hector sounds like a very typical case of a person who is depressed, and then has a psychotic break-he ran into the woods and then never was heard from again. An obvious sign for the theory of a psychotic break is when he acted out of character for himself, and stole a car-and he may not have been fully aware of why he did that, as he told his father it was a car he was interested in buying. It was a cold evening, and he would have been exposed to the elements, along with the fact that he was never heard from again. He likely perished in the elements, and thus my heart goes out to his family. Depression for a prolonged period of time is a dangerous thing for a person, it causes them to not be themselves, and it effects them in ways that only they are aware of.
I concur. New Hampshire winters are rough. Look at my Washington, and all the people who died climbing it. Some were never found. If he didn't make it out of the woods in December he wouldn't have survived I fear.
Wth, I must have been under a rock or something. Your new channel has been out a month and I just now heard about it?? Well, subscribed now! Thanks for the content sir!✨
Robert thanks for posting during a stay at home pandemic. I recently discovered your old posts on listverse, and now I know how you got started here. Well done !!!
Case #2, man those cops in Cornish, NH don't play around! They were REALLY looking hard for Blaine over that stolen car, even though it was sitting in front of his dad's house! 😮
Thanks bro! This is one of your best episodes! Stimulates the mind with alot of mystery solving scenarios. Appreciate your time and work uncovering these stories. Happy Holidays! Shalom
No doubt, Dub killed his girlfriend, then disappeared with his son. The blood in the truck is possibly from a wound inflicted by the girlfriend on Dub.
You rock for posting on Christmas. This is why I appreciate you so very much!!!

That second story. I just don't think he was ever right again after his brother died.
He wasn't. He probably had a mental break.
His actions certainly were't those of a sane person. Still, how could he have eluded discovery all this time?
Unfortunately I think he had a mental breakdown, and new Hampshire winters can be pretty tough. If he didn't make it out of the woods I think he's passed on.
What a perfect way to end my wonderful Christmas day! Merry Christmas to all.

If Blaine Hector was 30 years old in 2001 when he went missing, he would be 50 years old now, not 40 years old, as is said at 10:01
Good catch! 👍
Pretty sure his eyes aren't blue, they look definitely brown. Still an amazing case and a terrific video. Merry Christmas! 🎄🌟
How do you assign his age. He might identify as a 40 year old.
