After having given up guitar in 2009, it was mostly thanks to seeing Ryan's guitar playthroughs that made me pick up guitar again in 2020 and pour myself back into it. Polaris metalcore melodies have few equals. He had such an impact on so many of us bedroom folks trying to better ourselves. RIP
RIP Ryan, You have truly left your mark in this world. You have inspired countless ppl including myself to follow the path to becoming musicians, I'll miss you.

I'm glad I finally found out about Polaris, through Nik Nocturnal, but I'm also feeling for everyone, fans and family, for the loss of an outstanding talent that Ryan was, and it's easy enough to see in just 3 songs (this, Inhumane and Lucid are my top 3 atm) how good he truly was. Humanity, music, metal, Australians, have lost a great human being. If the journey ends here (just theory), I will blare these boys out for the rest of my life, this stuff is pure bangers. The high parts that Ryan added into polaris’ low tuned deep heavy music just added such a beautiful melodic element to Polaris that separated them from other bands. Perfect example is the song ABOVE MY HEAD. Listen to the instrumental version of that song, the instrumental version is it’s prolly one of if not my favorite song of all time cause throughout the song but especially in the chorus he plays this beautiful high lick that just sounds so beautiful and gives me chills down my spine. They are a brutal heavy band but his added melodic elements really made this band shine. RIP Ryan.

The first time Polaris graced my Spotify autoplay, it was Ryan's riffs that really hooked me, made me stop, look, and remember. Since then his and the rest of the band's presence in my life has genuinely made it better, even if in a small way, and I know I am not alone in that.
