As much as I would love one of these for quick garment production I’d still hand knit. Does the machine handle yarns like mohair or pure silks ? Can it knit lace ? Or shawls perhaps?

@@mrfak8763 - If you're asking me, no. Many people could just get a simple knitting machine but choose not to. They can put a project in a bag and knit in a car, in a waiting room, or while sitting outside. People sitting around in groups while knitting and visiting with each other. They get lots of satisfaction from knitting, and it's relaxing. Many other reasons why people knit by hand.
As a knitter and crocheter, this feels wrong. I get it’s good for the industry, but that designer wasn’t knitting. You can’t actually knit a sweater in 2 days, but you can manufacture one on a machine. She is a small scale manufacturer. The term “knitting” is an art done by hand without the use of advanced machinery. There is something beautiful about taking yarn and needles to create a finished work that is appealing and functional, BY HAND. Cool invention, but it’s not knitting and I will die on this hill in defense of the art.
I don't think these machines are going to be affordable for he ordinary home use, ideal for a start up company or a sample machine, the selector cams and solenoids can be very expensive also if its fine gauge breakages can be costly.
My Passap E 6000 might be a semi automatic industrial domestic machine from 1980's but damn it knits faster and better quality textile than that heap of rubbish
My aunts and their generation, they all had knitting machines just like this one, and it is so sad they are not available nowadays! And the ones that can be purchased are horrible round ones made of plastic, horrendous!
Uhm real knitting machines are still sold. But just as back then, they are expensive, hard to use and limited in their abilities, so most people dont bother.
The machine the woman has looks more like the early 70s. Coz I have gear with older style knobs on it made in the 60s. And it HAS PLASTIC KNOBS. So I REALLY DOUBT its 100 years old.
I'm sorry. But if it takes this machine 3 hrs to make a scarf than I dont need one I make a scarf in 3hrs or less I can do hate in 30mins or less socks 15mins give or take a few. I think I'll stick to my speed by hand untill they say it can make a scarf in 1hr I dont see it being beneficial to me besides being able to make multiple garments with machine and by hand simultaneously.
This aged like milk. With the cost of it, it certainly isn't small scale.

I was waiting this machine since 30 years. Congratulations. I need more info about this machine. 🙂😌👌👍👏🎈💖

Why, the number of accountants are decreasing because of computers. Do you say it in the artistic sense

How can "anyone" use it? It's 15k! You need to find a cheaper method of manufacturing

This is one of the things Brexiteers hate. An European thriving and contributing to development in the UK...
Talib Jalloh there would be less incentive to do so now that EU wide visa free travel will no longer apply to the UK.

The design of the machine hasn't changed for consumers & prosumers in the last century is prolly what they meant
