Thanks for making this webinar available to watch. It's helpful to see that fall planting promotes root growth instead of keeping it in a container

I just planted carpinus caroliniana, hydrangea arborescens, and ptelea trifoliata in my central Illinois yard last week. I spread mycorrhizal fungi in the hole first and mulched the base of the plants. I've never planted anything other than tulip bulbs in the fall before, hopefully my new natives will survive our awful Illinois winter!

They should do fine. Plenty of time for the roots to establish a bot before it gets cold enough to freeze the ground.

Thanks for this very helpful information. My question is about transplanting-- moving plants within the garden. Is fall still the best time for fall bloomers like aster and goldenrod? If so, I assume it should be after blooms are well past their prime.

Thank you! Yes, fall is still a great time for transplanting and moving plants within the garden, and your assumption about waiting until after the blooms are finished up is correct.
