Guys, reviewing cars isn't easy. I did hope Cooley reviewed this, but this guy also did a great job. Don't dislike the video just because he isn't Cooley, have some respect.
Normally I'd be bored with a CNET review with no Cooley in it, but might I say, this guy really goes with the flow of the review, I like him and hope to see him do more reviews, and of course we all hope seeing more of Cooley.
My 2015 Rapide S has A2DP Bluetooth streaming. What Tim is really right about is that this is a car you can fall in love with. I only had it for a few days and already have an emotional connection. I have no earning for any other car...It really satisfies virtually all driving desires one can have! Had I bought a Panamera, I would probably just can't wait to trade it up for a new version.
Review the 2016 Aston Martin Rapide S when it comes out. They claim to redesign the navigation system for Vanquish and the Rapide and they are adding the bluetooth connection to the radio for music straight from your phone
AXP Bonecrusher A V12 four door by Aston Martin that you can spec out any way you want for $100K? You don't know how money works, so just stop talking about it. Idiot.
AXP Bonecrusher Yes because it's still a quality car. The technology sucks but that's about it. The looks and attention to detail and the craftsmanship is out of this world. I've examined one up close, it's not like an Audi RS7 or Porsche Panamera. It's special. The badge doesn't matter, it looks like an Aston Martin and even with a Toyota badge it would still be special. Do you really think I'm that daft to like a car solely because of the badge? I think people who judge a car by it's badge are idiots...
NikoBell12 A Mercedes Benz S-Class fully loaded costs less and is built better than the Aston. The Aston at most costs around 100,000 to make (probably around 60 to 80 grand for a closer estimate). Now you tell me. Do you think that supposedly "better parts" "better quality" equal another 100,000 grand? When Japanese cars started rolling out in America they were built better and costed less than an American. Their is no such thing as "this radio is put into this dashboard better so pay me more kinda thing". Also Aston isn't well known for its build quality and materials. It's more for its look and performance which also starting to drop considering the Vantage is slower than many luxury sedans. If you consider it special that's an "opinion" but over priced is a "fact" cause compared to its competitors it doesn't excel in any one category and costs double the price.
+AXP Bonecrusher Think about it, how many s classes, 7 series, and rs7s do you see? Probably quite a few. I have seen 1 Aston Martin in my life on the road and it was awesome. People who can afford cars at this price point don't care so much about practicality and function because guess what, they probably have a few cars and another car that serves that purpose for them. People at that price point want exclusivity. They don't want to drive what their neighbor or the other surgeon at the country club has, they want some thing cool and rare that will turn heads.
You know, I actually enjoyed this reviewer. Although he did lack a bit of excitement, or passion, he did good. Of course, he's no Cooley, but he's much better than the other guy who looks like he constantly gets stains from his manwhich, and definitely better than Antoine Goodman. They did good by letting him review radio'th and whatnot. These two guys can will be good!
I'm partial to Cooley... but damn was I surprised! He actually gave a good review! I'll still take Cooley but a nice refresh compared to Antoine and whatever the other dude's name is.
I don't like aston martin any more, they charge you a ridiculous amount of money for shit that was available 10 years ago. I mean, look at the infotainment screen; it looks like it came from any other car around 8 years ago. I can't wait until AMG bring back some exclusivity and quality to the brand.
what is this a 1990´s car, no touch, no voice recognition, too many knots, and 13 MPH? this is basically the iphone of cars, has tech that other companies used and stopped using years ago, yet people buy it because it looks good
if you buy an aston martin for cabin tech you're missing the point of buying an aston martin which is for driving performance. assuming you or anyone else in the comments actually has enough money to think about buying this car
Talha Salamat agreed, plus if you could afford and want to buy this kind of car, you wouldnt bother with watching video reviews on it. you would just call up your local dealership to bring around the car for test drive. they do it for mercedes and audis if you cant drive don't see why they wouldn't do it for a 200k aston martin
No doubt, Aston Martin make some of the coolest cars. That said, I like the previous grill better. Looks sportier and a bit less like an open mouth'd fish.
Guys, reviewing cars isn't easy. I did hope Cooley reviewed this, but this guy also did a great job. Don't dislike the video just because he isn't Cooley, have some respect.
meh. he's ok, but Cooley's the man for this kind of thing...
I would complain there was no Cooley, but this guy isn't half bad...
Normally I'd be bored with a CNET review with no Cooley in it, but might I say, this guy really goes with the flow of the review, I like him and hope to see him do more reviews, and of course we all hope seeing more of Cooley.
Such a beautiful car. It just kills me with the absense of simple cab tech.
This guy may not be at Cooley's level, but he did quite well. Great presentation!
New in the Car Tech crew! :)
Oh yeah, Naveen, you can't compare ANYONE to Cooley. ANYONE. :D
Did you guys notice the Jaguar passing by in the background at 3:07
That cat is ferocious.
lmao. that was good. 👍😂👏👏👏 bravo sir bravo
ummmm where the hell is BRIAN at?
Uh, tech nerds who don't appreciate Astons...
They are the coolest, sexiest things on 4 wheels. Computery gimmicks aren't cool.
Tesla Model S pal, better than aston martin in every category, levels above
***** Except it's not sexy man. Aston's are effortlessly cool.

it looks absolutely stunning
I believe it is the first car review from the CNET NYC office. Great job Tim! :)
Review the 2016 Aston Martin Rapide S when it comes out. They claim to redesign the navigation system for Vanquish and the Rapide and they are adding the bluetooth connection to the radio for music straight from your phone
I am a bit relieved to see a review video outside of the Bay Area for once.
this is a car for xcar to review, not the cnet geeksquad
hey hey hey, geeks like cars too
Please CNet, let Brian Cooley do all car reviews!
Moved up from Engadget to Cnet? Great job Tim! And a pretty good review too.
Stop giving us random people give us Cooley.
This guy was pretty good though, compared to most other people they've presented us with, he just lacks enthusiasm :3
This guy is much better! He's cool and doesn't get on my nerves like Cooley!
i actually like the split grill vs this huge one
Aston continues the tradition of beautiful cars with no tech.
When did Chris Bangle start doing reviews for CNET?
200K is way too expensive for this thing. Its like Aston added another 100K cause James Bond drives it.
AXP Bonecrusher A V12 four door by Aston Martin that you can spec out any way you want for $100K? You don't know how money works, so just stop talking about it. Idiot.
NikoBell12 Replace the Aston badge with a Toyota's. Would you think 200K is a fair price now?
AXP Bonecrusher

Aston Martin logic:
100k for a car + 100k just because James Bond drives it
100k for the car + 100k bcoz its handbuilt
branot89 100k car + 25k cuz aston martin brand + 25k Jb drives + 50k handbuilt
A very honest review. About time!!!
He's right, you buy this with your heart. this is a car enthusiasts choice, not a comfy consumer car.
that's a lotta extra cash just to hear that sound coming out of the exhaust (compared to a Panamera)
I'd love to see this guy and Cooley do a review together... This guy's actually pretty good.
Did anyone else at 2:11 think he said it all starts with this weighty ass key lol I got a good laugh from that
Ah man I was hoping Cooley was reviewing this :( !
He did well unlike the other two that are very boring. He did damn well and I look forward seeing him when Cooley can't film.
Dogs in an Aston? No way!
car looks dope af and the interior is nice af but Aston Martin really needs to put more tech in their cars
what does he say about the boot? "not quite big enough for a ..." ??? I can't get it
where do you put the front number plate?
Dammit! I was planning on transporting sheets of dry wall in this otherwise beautiful car!
Andy Lee Dry Humor, I respect that
NYC!!! This guy is pretty good must be NY based, have never seen him before.
This guy isn't half bad. Props. Btw, the Aston has a 5.9L V12, not 6 liter.
200k for that infotainment? Never.
that front grille is just way too big. ruins the whole car
the only car in the aston lineup that didn't stay with the aston styling formula. 1/3 grill height would be an improvement.
PaiNExoTiC well, it is one of those grills that will split opinions
This is the man when Cooley isn't around !! ;D
NO! Cnet you're doing it wrong. Re-do it with Cooley.
the original rapide looks way better, the the new grille is too big.
Is this in California or some were else
Jaguar grilles are completely different lol, I'd know, I have both.....also these come with a bluetooth package, this one did not have that
S65 amg all the way!
avb found a new job pretty quickly
whatabout bmw m5? audi rs6? e63?
Aston Martin make the prettiest cars.
the only reason to buy this car is the sound
Your drunk sir
When Jaguar started putting Aston Martin looking like grills on their cars?
Aren't they both British cars ?
***** you're stupid
***** jaguar is owned by indian caar company tata, but otherwise it's inherently british
***** hahahahaha
excuse me Mr Cooley we need you back please
I prefer the regular rapide
he is the Engadget guy right??
Where is Brian? :(
3:07 KITTY! :D
isn't he from engadget???
Would totally watch the US top gear if Cooley was in it
Good job new guy!
Love this car!!
M6 gran coupe?Cls amg?
What's the cost of this?
where's Cooley ?
Next year they are updating the interior big time
It's nothing personal, it's Cooley we want…!
Where the heck is Cooley?
the stray cat at 3:09 xD
He's no cooley obviously, but he did a great job
Cooley could have said the exact same things as this guy, this guys cool too
Imma need soft close doors and an auto open/close hatch.
You are not out of luck with the iPod connector. You can buy a 30-pin to lightning converter so you can use the new iPod,iPad,and iPhone 5.
Really getting tired of CNET's non "click to skip" ads just so they get paid more from TH-cam AdSense...
Am I the only one who thinks the new grille is ridiculously big? The old rapide looked normal to me, this is just like they gave the car huge braces..
You all do know this guy was Editor-in-Chief of Engadget. He's way better than Cooley if you ask me from a pure review perspective.
Holy red interior.
The Jaguar F-Type is leaps and bounds above this disappointment.
I'm partial to Cooley... but damn was I surprised! He actually gave a good review! I'll still take Cooley but a nice refresh compared to Antoine and whatever the other dude's name is.

+Harman Sanghera my guess is if you can afford a car like that, you aren't really comparing asking prices. You know what you want and you buy it
*let the cooley comments begin*
haha idd, the mayhem on the top5 ...
CNET Please upload car reviews with Brian Cooley only. Who is this fruit cup.
I miss Cooley seriously bring him back :(
was slightly disappointed when I realize it wasn't cooley doing the review however this guy did pretty good
Great Reviewer I like him
where is cooley
at 3:08 a wild cat appears... This video is going viral
He is Tim Stevens from Engadget
If he's editor-at-large... does this mean Cooley got promoted to executive editor or something? Congrats for Cooley lol.
No no no no no, we need to redo this. From the top with Cooley
I don't mind this guy. He tells it like it is and has a personality similar to Cooley. Rather have Cooley but this will do
turn the music off
That intro was done in 8 takes.
Cooley's not in it because this was filmed in NY
Not Cooley, but this guy was very close. I'll take him any day
Really can't stand the aston martin. Looks uncomfortable, no high tech navi or dash, and no damn sunroof!
what is this a 1990´s car, no touch, no voice recognition, too many knots, and 13 MPH? this is basically the iphone of cars, has tech that other companies used and stopped using years ago, yet people buy it because it looks good
This is an Aston Martin, not an Escalade.

agreed, plus if you could afford and want to buy this kind of car, you wouldnt bother with watching video reviews on it. you would just call up your local dealership to bring around the car for test drive. they do it for mercedes and audis if you cant drive don't see why they wouldn't do it for a 200k aston martin
That was a stupid iPhone statement...
3:08 you know what it is...
good reviewer!
Anyone noticed the cat in the background?
No doubt, Aston Martin make some of the coolest cars. That said, I like the previous grill better. Looks sportier and a bit less like an open mouth'd fish.
this guy isnt too bad :)
