I just want to share a method for the decimal moving cuz its kinda confusing. The rule is if u want to increase the exponent u have to move the decimal to the left as many times as to reach the value of the other exponent. Then vice versa example: 9.8 *10^5 + 2.3*10^3 (for u to change the 3 into 5 u have to move the decimal to the left twice) so it'll be 9.8*10^5 + 0.023*10^5 = 9.823*10^5 is the answer
@@cristinacruzat1938 i guess you should make the negative expo to become positive and make it same as the second term, which is 10², so since the rules for scientific notation is when u move the decimal point to the left the expo increases. So in order to make the -2 expo. 2, you need to add it by 4 --- since 4+(-2)=2 --- therefore, 3.44 will become 0.000344×10² this is because we move the decimal point 4 units to the left. now, we can add these 2 terms, 1.26+0.000344 = 1.260344×10² :>>
