WTH is wrong with you? This is about success and you are nothing but negative. You probably need to really pay attention to these things, I take it you live with mommy and are blaming others for your failures. Just because someone is driven with their career, their bodies, and nutrition does not mean they are doing steriods. You obviously are very ignorant to steriods, Because Sly does not look like anyone on steriods but you stay in your sad negative world and you are never going to get anywhere! Ever!

my favorite Stallone lesson is to be willing to keep working at it even if you fail 1000 times.... cuz there have been many projects that I work on and I find myself feeling like it won't be good enough and I give up... then I try again sometime later... I am literally still working on a book that I started 44 years ago and I continue to be amazed that many of the principles I wrote about back then, when I was a psychology student at U of Minnesota, principles not discussed anywhere in the curriculum, but principles that I intuitively knew were true by tapping into universal intelligence or natural wisdom, and now these same principles are being talked about EVERYWHERE... I already had them before I ever saw them in print... so I continue to come up with even new and better principles that combined would be a big help to people, and I will continue to work on it, being inspired now by Stallone... thanks for your work... it's not about the money for me, although that would be appreciated... it's universal truths that I want people to know about to make their life better...

I had the pleasure of working for Sylvester Stallone on the film "Rocky Balboa". He is an incredible inspiring person and a surprisingly humble man. Confident, yet humble. Of all his 10 rules for success I'd have to say that the one that hits home with me is "Keep Moving Forward". In life and in my career I've been knocked down, I've been sabotaged, I've been lied to, I've been about, I've failed, and I've been thrown in the deep end and told to swim. But I have learned that you can't dwell on the present. You have to move forward and rise above it. I know that every time I fall it is an opportunity to bounce higher. Thanks for this video!

I was a visual effects artist on the film. Yes, there are effects in a "Rocky" movie, but no it has nothing to do with making Stallone look beefier. He really is that buffed. :-) The effects were what I call "invisible" effects, where if I do my job right you never know anything was done at all. The VFX for that film involved removing things in the background of footage shot on location and replacing them with other elements. This was mostly during the fight sequence at Madison Square Garden. Very intricate and tedious work because the camera never holds still and there is so much action in the foreground. At the very end my crew and I had to pull an all-nighter to deliver the final shots by the deadline. Whenever we started losing energy and conking out we'd blast "Eye of the Tiger" on the stereo system and suddenly we were all pumped up again. And Stallone himself was a big inspiration.

I agree. Persistence is the most important key to success. The quote by Calvin Coolidge comes to mind: "Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."

I love listening to Sylvester Stallone. He has gained a lot of wisdom and insight into life through his own personal life story, plus he is just a very genuine and down to earth nice guy. I feel a certain kinship with him, since a lot of what he has been through and learnt from, I too have been through and learnt from, especially when he talks about how important it is to go with your gut feeling and inner voice and how important it is to not be afraid of failure but to embrace it, since ironically it's failure which leads one to success. I also identify strongly with what he says about being told he can't do something; that it only spurs him on to prove that he can. I am the same way. I too love a challenge and being told "You can't". My response is "Waddaya say?? Let me show you I can".
At 8:25 Stallone says something interesting that has a deeper aspect to it. He talks about how all those failed scripts he wrote lead him to the success of writing the script for Rocky. On a deeper level, failure leads to success not only through the process of learning from your mistakes but also because many times failure causes one to become even more determined to succeed and even more focused on the goal and when one becomes more determined and more focused on the goal, one attracts and draws down the knowledge required to succeed in accomplishing your goal.
Another very important aspect Stallone brings up is to take the INITIATIVE, since one can dream all they want but if you do not take the initiative - the action - your dreams will not materialize. In Stallone's case, had he not stopped on his way out of that audition where he was rejected and said to the auditioners that he also writes scripts and maybe they would like to check them out, his whole life might never have turned out like it did. It's always fascinating how one small decision can change a person's life from end to end.

Thank you for the video. I love Stallone because of the Rocky movies. Those words of wisdom to his son are so true and so emotionally charged they bring tears to my eyes. One quality we can't deny Sly is humility. To me, that's one other rule for success. Researchers have actually argued that's one trait shared by learders and charismatic people.

Thanks Evan, great video! My two "go to" inspirations have always been Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger. They both came from absolutely nothing and basically succeeded entirely on themselves. I always go to their video clips, Stallone's "stuff in the basement", "talk with the fight committee" and "speech to son". Arnold's "six rules of success". I watch them on a monthly bases to rekindle the fire within! My rule that I feel is the MOST important rule between both of them is "BELIEVE IN YOURSELF". I feel nothing happens without believing in yourself. Thanks again for the video!

Now if you know what you're worth then go out and get what your worth, but you gotta be willing to take hits, not point fingers at him or her or anybody, cowards do that and THAT AIN'T YOU!!! YOUR BETTER THAN THAT!!.......i live day to day by that script, first time i heard it i cried like a kid....because i blamed people my whole life, my mom and dad....now i blame myself, and have to fix what i broke.....living in poverty working in a cabinet factory has hit me like a truck, i can't live my life by that anymore....i gotta keep moving forward.

    Here for others benefit
#7 Find Your Process: I really believe in this. Keep it as habit and do it everyday even you didn't feel like. You might want to read 'The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg', lots of articles written by James Clear, and finally 'The Creative Habit: Learn It and Use It for Life by Twyla Tharp'. They are all good and will get you into the feeling of this point. I read them all thus I'm brave enough to share them here.
#10 Keep Moving Forward: I read 'Think Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill', inside it teaches me to keep feeding my mind and telling myself the goal I need to accomplish in every single day. The exact video as presented in this point is what I watch it every morning.

Find your Process - I always like to hear, that success is not easy to reach and you have to sacrifice something. When most of the people would start to wake up at 3 or 4 am in the morning to write for three hours they would look like a fool a crazyones for the little mans around them. But this is, what success is about. This is what it takes hard work, keep going and get it done.

I needed to hear some of this today.
I decided to move out for the first time last July of 2016.. and at first it was by far the hardest thing. But.. I know I can do it now.
But since I've been here, I've realized this place, as fun as the experience has been I just don't think it's very good for me mentally. The roommates aren't very good people. And there's supposed to be a strict set of rules we're all supposed to follow... but I'm the only one that ever does. On top of that... my wallet was stolen by one of them.
I honestly wanted to move back home ages ago.. I was just afraid of the "failure". I was.. I guess even ashamed that I had to quit. I still somewhat have that a bit. Because... I came this far only to leave. I guess I should give myself credit for at least trying to figure out a way to at least keep moving forward in some way.

a key to life is making the choices that resonate with you personally; rather than what you think looks best to others.
You may even be wrong; but you won't really learn that unless you learn things for your self.
Our choices are nothing if they're just fear-driven echoes of what other people think.
Blessings to you on your path.

The best rule I like is. You have to fail to learn. That's good because so many people are afraid of failure so they never start anything that may be to risky where they might fail and have to feel pain or imbarasment.
You can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs I've always heard.

I really enjoyed your videos and i thank you for doing such a great job,i love your work. The principle i am trying to take from watching your videos right now is "make a choice or make a decision on what you are doing". Hearing that was so important to me, because that is what i believe is causing my failure in my business. I take too long to make decisions and because of that i then to lose out on a lot of very good opportunities. I would you to make two videos on two of my favorite entrepreneurs; Kevin O'leary Tyler Perry and also ( i don't know if i am asking for too much ) if you could make a list of 10 rules that are common in the videos you have made. Please do it for me, it will really help me a lot.
