Andrea is literally my favorite Boleyn! She’s hysterical, I honestly think she has a fabulous career ahead of her. I can totally see her playing Adelaide in Guys and Dolls, Karen Smith in Mean Girls, Columbia in The Rocky Horror Show, Eliza in Hamilton, Elle Woods in Legally Blonde, Maureen in Rent, Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors, Connie in A Chorus Line, and SO many other roles. She’s delightful and I hope we see sooooo much more of her going forward! 🥰💜
Funny Courtney Bowman who also played Anne Boleyn in the West End version is now playing Elle Woods. So hopefully Andrea does get the chance, shes so funny.
4:20 I love how Andrea sings 'I'm not sorry' as a musical quote of the Demi Lovato song! Works great thematically and harmonically. Brilliant interpretation
The creators of the show said that Anne Boleyn's musical style inspirations (or "Queenspirations" as they call it) are Avril Lavigne and Lily Allen and you can absolutely hear their rebellious influence in this song.
This was the opening night and I've seen clips of Andrea doing this song weeks later. This one sounds like she's much more restrained than the later ones I've seen so it appears she grew the role even beyond opening night. In the clips I've seen, she steals the show - amazing!
yessss i love this recording so much. what i dont like about studio recordings is that it loses energy and isnt as good as the live recording. this album captured how it really sounded live and its so energetic i love love love it
@@klosux this reminds me of Hamilton, take Say No To This with the OG Broadway cast, so Leslie Odom Jr, Jasmine Cephas Jones, and Lin-Manuel Miranda. While watching the Musical on Disney+, the line "I didn't know any better" caught me off guard. The way Jasmine had more of a sad/distraught voice for that line didn't show up in the cast recording.
I just watched the musical, and there was a toddler there. This song started playing, and the mom was pretty invested, but the toddler was confused, when it said “HANG HIM!” the mom was shocked. I was literally too invested in this toddler to see what was happening in the play, kinda sad. But so, when it said “BITCH!”, the mom said, “Yep, we’re done.” And she handed her daughter an ipad with headphones plugged in, and she just watched that the whole thing. I loved it.
That's incorrect behavior on Broadway. She's just lucky that Broadway legend Patti LuPone wasn't in this. Otherwise, best case scenario: she'd get yelled at.

Maybe this is just me but I notice that Anne's whole personality changes with the broadway version. In the original cast/album she's portrayed more and sly, deliberate and sassy; stereotypical highschool girl stuff. Here though she leans more into a ditzy, clutz and easily tempted personality. And while that inturpretation isn't bad it reframes a lot of the dynamics between herself and the other characters. Like Catherine of Aragon; in the OG cast the immaturity vs contolled stuff seems more natural, but in the Broadway cast that contrast completely changes to seem more like a stepmom being mad at her undisciplined stepkid, which comes off as a lot more exaderated. None of this is bad mind you but to me it makes in fighting seem more cartoon-y than anything.
I think the change was important. There is a stong immage of the punk rocker, rebellious young woman that resonates with a British audience that could come off as unsympathetic to a North American audience. I think the way Andrea plays her is much more of a GenX/Z young woman who has bought into the YOLO mentality of "I'm just trying to live my life". I don't think she's ditzy or a clutz, she's just living her own life and doing what makes her happy. She's not out to hurt anyone, but if Henry doesn't want Aragon anymore why SHOULDN'T Anne be happy with him? They just want to live their best lives. I think her fight with Aragon was more that Anne believed their marriage was obviously over but Aragon tried to hold onto Henry and stubbornly stood in the way of their happiness, while Aragon saw Anne as a homewrecker who made her life miserable. That's my take on it, at least. I wasn't so keen on the UK version of Anne (though they are all extremely talented) but Andrea became my favorite queen really quickly.
Copyright works like only the person and whoever that person gives permission to can sell/post/record whatever it is that they’re doing. This one is the official live cast recording done by the operators themselves. Normal people who do not have permission to film/post the musical (live or like this) will get taken down. And those people who do post them, are being little rebels and doing that without permission, and therefore after SIX finds out, the video gets taken down due to copyright infringement. Hope this helps!

You probably won’t answer this, but I heard your not allowed to record until mega six,how do people get videos then?
im pretty sure that it's someone that is paid to record the songs
Copyright works like only the person and whoever that person gives permission to can sell/post/record whatever it is that they’re doing. … Tried to elope
But the pope said nope
Our only hope was Henry
He got a promotion
Caused a commotion
Set in motion the C of E
… The rules were so outdated
Us two wanted to get x-rated
Soon, ex-communicated
Everybody chill, its totes God's will
… Henry's out every night on the town
Just sleeping around, like what the hell?
If that's how it's gonna be
Maybe I'll flirt with a guy or three
Just to make him jell
… Henry finds out and he goes mental
He screams and shouts
Like so judgemental
You damn that witch
Mate, just shut up
I wouldn't be such a b-
If you could get it up
… Here we go
(Is that what you said?)
And now he's going 'round like off with her head
(No)
… Yeah, I'm pretty sure he means it
(Seems it)
What was I meant to do?
(What was she meant to do?)
Like what was I meant to do?
(What was she meant to do?)
No, but what was I meant to do?
… Sorry, not sorry 'bout what I said
I'm just tryna have some fun
Don't worry, don't worry, don't lose your head
I didn't mean to hurt anyone
LOL, say oh well
Or go to hell (she's going to hell)
Sorry, not sorry 'bout what I said
Sorry, not sorry 'bout what she said
Sorry, not sorry 'bout what I said
Don't lose your head
… Haha sorry
