I'm so so happy that you're still making these videos because I LOVE player homes but I tend to be kinda picky. Through your videos, I get an in-depth look at so many and I actually found a couple of my favourite player homes from watching you (Raven Castle is one of them). You give such a cozy vibe and it's honestly very heartwarming to see such wholesome content. And for that, I thank you, truly ❤
I think this modder did a remarkable job! Of all the truly wonderful, huge castles & grounds that have been created by various modders, this one hits home for me. The only deterent I have to loading it - and this is a personal thing I feel strongly about - is the lack of staff, guards, merchants, and more animals. A mod this big just feels like a tomb to me without the ambient life of the people who would keep a residence of this magnitude running. I'll have to keep an eye on the Nexus page for this mod to see if/when any updates are made. Thank you so much Feb for introducing us to this marvelous place!
There is a big vault area with piles of gold and what not as well. You walked past it in the display haul. Classrooms in the nursery wing. All kinds of bits. I love the mod and appreciate the work gone into it but, there beess to be a crafting area. The only room that has alchemy and enchanting is the court wizards room. You saw the smithing area. I feel there needs to be a good area that has all three with labeled storage. Lots and lots of wondering around. It'd difficult to navigate.

The author made great use of Blue Palace, Castle Dour, Temple of the Divines and other vanilla Solitude architecture to allow more time to work on all the fab deco and less time on bricks and mortar. I'm all for that method as it makes for tidy, performance friendly files along with a less maddening effort for the author. Huzzah! I like that the displays that require unique items aren't right in my face, just tucked away for those who enjoy them with plenty of places to display the custom mod items that I forge myself. There are a few elements that are not quite my taste but that is to be expected in a castle home of this epic scale. I like that those elements are hidden away to be discovered by those who may appreciate them and easily avoided by those who do not. I was adopted as an infant so I am an avid adopter of crumb crunching rug rats in my game. At first I was doubtful that I would want the kids here but after seeing the children's wing... well, I hope this does get a multi-adoption friendly add on at some point. Love the play and class rooms! I also look forward to having some guards and npc merchants about as long as they are available and not constantly underfoot. It would also be nice if children were banned from adult areas like the bar areas and other places where my character and followers are likely to be drinking, flirting and um... "courting" each other... Nothing worse that having the kids butt in on adult activities! "Get lost kid! I'm kissing Lydia!" (hoping to get lucky tonight!) hahaha🥰 Same thing with the staff npc's. If I need them, I can go find them. Otherwise, they can naff off! hahaha🤣 Overall, this is a fine mod that I gladly endorsed even prior to testing it myself due to your fine tour, sweet Feb!🥰 You have a knack for showing off the best in homes! I like OWNING these epic castles and estates but I enjoy LIVING in smaller more manageable homes. This is one I would own despite having to hum the Benny Hill theme in my head every time I try to learn my way around. Worth it though. The NPCs included will certainly add something - well...NPCs for one, but I mean add to the liveability. I can't be out adventuring all day and then come home and be expected to dust and clean that massive place can I?! The mod author has created an entire settlement scale showpiece and that makes me wish we had the Fallout mechanic of being able to attract settlers and then send them to our settlements. The settlement beacon would need to be a signal fire atop a suitable tower but that would be fun. The place could come with its own set of quests critical to your very existence. Like the "Find the Loo Quest" or "Midnight Sandwich Run Kitchen Discovery Quest". Both essential and time sensitive for sure.
Mod author here! Fantastic job, and thanks for making this awesome video. I didn't even notice the weird inner windows during testing, I'll have to fix that up in an update :P I love your textures, which ones are you using? You're not the only one who's gotten stuck with the false panel. There is a switch that activates it somewhere nearby. Unfortunately I don't have the know-how to remove the text from the false panel, but each hidden door has switches on both sides so that you can get through no matter which way you approach the door. Love your commentary as always and appreciate your artistry!
I love the home! I just got it. I play on xbox and I have cuddle mods that wont work with the beds. Ooh maybe some updated bathroom with showers and an auto strip at the pool.
PLEASE READ! first off, this mod is undeniably one of the best home mods available on xbox right now- not only is it historically accurate in its building, layout and interior design, but it also is incredibly useful with all of its display features for unique items and armor, which makes collector questing feel especially fulfilling. THAT BEING SAID it lacks reflective customization from what I've seen- it would be super cool if things like the banners you display and the armor on your guards reflected your allegiance in the war, and if the carriage by the stables could be used for fast travel. And while i like the idea of the npcs you included, they don't say anything or serve any real purpose- talking to them doesn't even open a dialogue menu, leaving the spaces they occupy unsettlingly quiet. Also- with all that space that is so lovingly decorated for NPC use, I can't even assign followers to live there. What's the point? I feel like if you could take all the features implemented in heljarchen hall ( inviting and assigning npcs of your choice to serve in your home under different rolls with a immersive schedule, as well as a steward that allows you to toggle circumstancial decorations for events in your dining hall like feasts for holidays) and combine them with the absolute perfection of your castle and keep layout, you would litterally have the best frigging home mod ever. Also your master bathroom could do with a mirror/scrye that allows you to change your characters appearance.
I also thought on raven castle and on wveryrock. also a little on hogwarts, all big and confiusing but great. the dining room is epic. the view is great. I don't have much mods in this area.
Whenever I play Oblivion I sometimes like to watch the sunrise from the towers of Battlehorn Castle. It can be a nice time in-game, especially just before the sun breaks the mountains with Masser and Secunda in full view at the same time. The views here are giving me the same vibes.
I love when you went into the cavern. All the bunny needed was a waistcoat and a pocket watch to take us thru the looking glass.I too, prefer the smaller homes but who can resist a house where even the chickens have posh quarters. You wouldn’t happen to know if there’s a passageway in the cavern would you? I’ve been thinking there’s a false wall but I couldn’t find the switch. I just want to make sure I’m not wasting my time bc I swear I’m going crazy 😅
9:34 I was just thinking that. The castle itself is so massive it's *very* un-immersive for me. But the whole childrens section, and especially the play room immediately makes me think of all the orphans in the game who could have a better life. It's one of the first things I would do anyway if I were very wealthy irl. No one should ever be homeless, especially not children or the elderly.
If you want a house mod that takes care of orphans and feels immersive, then maybe check out the Dragons Keep mod which Feb reviewed (almost exactly) 3 years ago. It's a boarding school for up to 12 orphans: "Overall, there is room for 36 adult followers, 12 child student followers, a spouse, & six adopted children. And, to make things more realistic, there are plenty of added NPC's who are training, attending classes, working, playing, relaxing, or otherwise involved in many other endeavors one would expect to see going on at a fully functional boarding school."
Found several secret passages One is the false panel in wardrobe : turn the light which is just on left of it Another one is when you enter Revelhost Meeting Hall : go to the stairs in the right corner and go to lower level where you'll see an enchanting table THEN turn left to the bookshelve AND after on right to see a bedroll , look the lantern and the wall just before being at the bedroll ( not the ones beside the bookshelve )

It still amazes me how we can build such architecture and beautiful landscaping in the virtual worlds of games. As graphics improved exponentially over the years so did the building mechanics. So we not only have the base game or task but the creative embellishment of design and art form integrated in the game making the whole experience much more immersive.

I am on a PS4, but still love watching these videos,,, and actually, sometimes the pc mods eventually make it to our consoles.. I have been collecting mostly small homes to scatter across Skyrim to help me when I play on survival mode….the only large home I added is called Rkung-Zel. It is so cool, and I like that it has at least 8 people wandering around, taking care of the place..it is a nice place to wander around when I don’t feel like doing a quest…..love all of your videos, Febrith! ☺️🥰🌈🎮

That secret door that you tried to unlock. You have to to the right candle. It will take you to vampire halls under the castle and there is a vampire with his gargoyle. That gargoyle may need a special weapon to kill it as the weapons I have will not kill it. It will also attack you. You will also find a secondary dungeon and other vampire stuff down there as well.
Nice to see a Penitus Oculatus armor in this " Castle Dour " but sadly not an enchanted one. During all your reviews of player homes did you find an enchanted version of it (( except in the mod which add a BIG Penitus Oculatus Outpost just other side of the bridge when arriving from Dragon Bridge ( player home after destroying Dark Brotherhood ) like Fort Dawnguard become )) ?
My game crashes whenever I try to even walk near the castle. Any ideas on how to fix this? Im not sure what's making it crash. I have it near the top of the load order btw
I know I already commented on this video but I just wanted to say I downloaded this with the NPCs and while it's and awesome build and if feels like a proper castle I think it just way to big for me I got lost for literally two hours until I finally just quit lol 😅 and unlike Feb I'm normally good with directions lol love you Feb🤗 but yeah a bit much for me also it feels weird having a bigger place the than the Queen or even jarl's but that's just my thoughts...but I will say I do love the gardens and that spot has amazing views I would live here in real life but not in the game weird but there it is lol 😅 I think I'll just stick to living in the Lc's citidel its sthe perfect size castle for me...but boy the views 😳🏔️💚
I looked at this castle in the chance it would replace Shadowstar castle and it did not as I did not like the fact I got lost inside it. The only thing that I like about this castle is its outer design. though this could change after npcs are added and maybe with a spriggan follower.
Mod author here! :) Each hidden door has a switch somewhere. Febrith's not the only one who was puzzled by the false panel not opening when you try to activate it directly. The switch is somewhere nearby ;P

The mod pages says you can and this comment is from the Posts tab of the mod page:- Alright, in the latest version (1.4b) I optimized the Hearthfire-related content. For some reason, the spouse wanted to craft in the deep cavern. Now, your spouse and children should be mostly in the throne room, nursery, private chambers, and outdoor garden. It might take a few in-game days for them to adjust. I know it works perfectly if you havent moved your family in yet, but if you already have, some of the interior cells had their name changed, so it might be a bit wonky. It will either correct itself after a bit, or you might need to move them to another home and then move them back, or reset your bless home mod. Let me know if you still have problems! I'll be continuing to test this with my endgame character. If you cast "Bless Home" you will see the message that "6.0 beds" are registered in the top left of your screen, you need to cast the spell in either the Private Chambers, Nursery, or Throne Room. The option to move your family in will be a generic line when you tell your spouse you want to move the option will be "our new home" or something like that.
@@FebrithDarkstar i found a way to suppress the npcs ( not the ones that are sellers of course ) I uploaded the mods Instant Death Spells and Arkay's Rites - Simple Clean Up that i used to kill the boring ones ( with Instant Death Spells ) BEFORE loot them totally ( just to sell ) BEFORE acting a burial rite which give a reward of 10 septims by body " purified " ( with the mod Arkay's Rites ) + the gold sent by the jarl when friends / followers dead.
i like the video but the mod not so much, i hate huge castle mods that have no npc's at all it just seems dead all that big empty space even if you have followers, nope hard but polite pass from me.
Author did an update and now there are NPC’s there’s a bunch of them, guards, maids, a groundskeeper, a cook, even a lady to watch your kids. It’s pretty awesome, definitely needed them

I am on a PS4, but still love watching these videos,,, and actually, sometimes the pc mods eventually make it to our consoles.. I have been collecting mostly small homes to scatter across Skyrim to help me when I play on survival mode….the only large home I added is called Rkung-Zel. It is so cool, and I like that it has at least 8 people wandering around, taking care of the place..it is a nice place to wander around when I don’t feel like doing a quest…..love all of your videos, Febrith! ☺️🥰🌈🎮

I like it & also very impressed that you were successful in NOT getting lost (you edited it , didn't you 🤔) . Yes I could happily wonder & craft here during the day , then venture out in darkness to find some victim's 🤣🤣. Would be good if you had a choice of evil or good grounds keeper . The good would do your bidding keeping the grounds looking good. Then the evil could be a Master Alchemist/Trainer who can advise on the most horrid poisons & their applications & yes his name would be ....Igor or female Lucricia 🤣🤣. That secret door that you tried to unlock. You have to to the right candle. It will take you to vampire halls under the castle and there is a vampire with his gargoyle. That gargoyle may need a special weapon to kill it as the weapons I have will not kill it. It will also attack you. You will also find a secondary dungeon and other vampire stuff down there as well.

I killed the vampire and that Gargoyle ends up being your companion.
There is a bookshelf in the basement or the meeting hall, but I can't find the lever for it anywhere

During all your reviews of player homes did you find an enchanted version of it (( except in the mod which add a BIG Penitus Oculatus Outpost just other side of the bridge when arriving from Dragon Bridge ( player home after destroying Dark Brotherhood ) like Fort Dawnguard become )) ?

In the dungeon, that is not a torcher chamber. It is a "corrective action" chamber. The mod is multiple-adoption-friendly, after all...😈

My game crashes whenever I try to even walk near the castle. Any ideas on how to fix this? Im not sure what's making it crash. I have it near the top of the load order btw
All I can suggest is moving it down or failing that, contact the mod author via the mod page?

I know I already commented on this video but I just wanted to say I downloaded this with the NPCs and while it's and awesome build and if feels like a proper castle I think it just way to big for me I got lost for literally two hours until I finally just quit lol 😅 and unlike Feb I'm normally good with directions lol love you Feb🤗 but yeah a bit much for me also it feels weird having a bigger place the than the Queen or even jarl's but that's just my thoughts...but I will say I do love the gardens and that spot has amazing views I would live here in real life but not in the game weird but there it is lol 😅 I think I'll just stick to living in the Lc's citidel its sthe perfect size castle for me...but boy the views 😳🏔️💚

I looked at this castle in the chance it would replace Shadowstar castle and it did not as I did not like the fact I got lost inside it. The only thing that I like about this castle is its outer design.
though this could change after npcs are added and maybe with a spriggan follower.

@@FebrithDarkstar Shadowstar Castle has one in its grotto/grove area. Revelhost has a cavern with nothing in it and I think one would be cool there

Mod author here! :) Each hidden door has a switch somewhere. Febrith's not the only one who was puzzled by the false panel not opening when you try to activate it directly. The switch is somewhere nearby ;P

The mod pages says you can and this comment is from the Posts tab of the mod page:- Alright, in the latest version (1.4b) I optimized the Hearthfire-related content. For some reason, the spouse wanted to craft in the deep cavern. Now, your spouse and children should be mostly in the throne room, nursery, private chambers, and outdoor garden. It might take a few in-game days for them to adjust. I know it works perfectly if you havent moved your family in yet, but if you already have, some of the interior cells had their name changed, so it might be a bit wonky. It will either correct itself after a bit, or you might need to move them to another home and then move them back, or reset your bless home mod. Let me know if you still have problems! I'll be continuing to test this with my endgame character.
If you cast "Bless Home" you will see the message that "6.0 beds" are registered in the top left of your screen, you need to cast the spell in either the Private Chambers, Nursery, or Throne Room. The option to move your family in will be a generic line when you tell your spouse you want to move the option will be "our new home" or something like that.
Ok so how do I find it and own the castle !? Don’t gatekeep

@@FebrithDarkstar i found a way to suppress the npcs ( not the ones that are sellers of course )
I uploaded the mods Instant Death Spells and Arkay's Rites - Simple Clean Up that i used to kill the boring ones ( with Instant Death Spells ) BEFORE loot them totally ( just to sell ) BEFORE acting a burial rite which give a reward of 10 septims by body " purified " ( with the mod Arkay's Rites ) + the gold sent by the jarl when friends / followers dead.
Very lonely.

i like the video but the mod not so much, i hate huge castle mods that have no npc's at all it just seems dead all that big empty space even if you have followers, nope hard but polite pass from me.

Author did an update and now there are NPC’s there’s a bunch of them, guards, maids, a groundskeeper, a cook, even a lady to watch your kids. It’s pretty awesome, definitely needed them
