For me the greatest benefit boxing has given me is the understanding that no matter how good your conditioning is, you're going to get tired in a fight. How you train while tired is how you're going to fight while tired. It's a constant work in progress but I feel like I'm getting better at working while I'm gassed.

When I first started kickboxing, I avoided sparring because I was afraid of getting hit + my defence needed a lot of work. Now after 3 months, I got the hang of it, and actually enjoy sparring because I learned to defend and eat up the combos, not run away.
This is all mental. You got this!!

Sparring is scary at first, that’s why you should always try light sparring when it’s your first time. Or talk to your sparring partner and work something out so you can get used to being hit.

Way too underrated for such a good video, your way of talking and bringing up points was really clear and I loved it. At first I thought I was watching someone famous until I checked the views and it really surprised me, I believe in this channel and in you cause you seem to be going the right path. Great work brother!

Yea I had the misconception of boxing as well, did Muay Thai for a little bit but switched to boxing due to the gym have a more regular weekly sparring schedule, I went into my first boxing sparring thinking I was going to do good since I've spared in Muay Thai, never felt more helpless in my life against a jab lmao, as I kept doing boxing I realized that all the small things they do add on to a more complex game then it seems on surface level, pivoting, pull counters, small slips, catch and shoot, seem so simple on their own but could make a day and night diffrence in your game, the saying the game of inches is an understatement for sure, I'm 1 year in and I'm still learning.

just a healthy advice from someone who graduated from college a long time ago - Keep doing boxing, but don't let it overweigh your studies, cause that's gonna pay your bills, not boxing, unless you're planning to turn pro.
I am a strong advocate of martial arts myself.
martial arts can be quite addicting, but you gotta control yourself. It is a handy tool and a great medicine for brain and body, but you must not let it overtake your studies.

thx man. this really motivated me since its my second month at boxing. i have been lifting weights for 15 years. i m 39 y.o. this is the first time i attempt to a combat sport.
first thing i realise is it s so much conditionaly demanding. i was considering my self fit for anything but nah. this is something else. second i realise that how slow i m lol. i feel like lightning while practising, then when i watch my self in a video its an embrasement like an old lady throwing her purse at someone 😂 i see zero progress on my self but i m willing to continue for next 2 years atleast. also cant wait for getting punched in the face. never fought before due to my intimidating size also birth scars in my face is unbearable to look 🥲much love and respect. subbed.

your body adapts to what its trained for. you were fit for weight lifting. let a well conditioned pro boxer try your weight routine and they won't be able to move for days.

I started a little under 3 months ago, I post pretty much everyday, usually post atleast twice a day. I make combat sports content (boxing, mma, wrestling, etc) and I'm at 1.3k followers, all of my success came from a single video I made that was like 2 mins long. First week of it being posted it got like 3k views which was really good for me at the time. Then the week leading up to Christmas it gained nearly 3 million views, got a bunch of comments and likes and I was super happy. Since then I haven't been able to even come close to that type of engagement, my highest viewed video is at 3mil, 2nd highest is at 16k, 3rd highest is at like 7k. Defo gonna try and make some adjustments to the type of videos I make and try and take elements from my video that blew up and try and put those elements into a similar style of video with a different story or meaning to it though

I used to be 327 pounds in the 6th grade. Blah blah, bullying, blah blah, everything else. Now... the meat and potatoes of my comment, here. I skipped school one day (9th grade, i believe. 10th, at best) i was smoking with a couple of old friends, one of which, was an mma fanatic. The other, had a weight bag. The first friend taught me to spar. The other, simply having that weight bag, gave me the opportunity to practice. He even gave me his own mma gloves. Later in life, i met others who were as infatuated with the sport, as i was. The art of fighting was something I held near, and dear to my heart."

I trained in boxing as a child and also judo as a child. But now I’m coming back again FOR ME. I was abused as a child by my sperm donor and my first ex girlfriend and I’m gonna relearn martial arts again FOR ME. Boxing for me is like chess. It’s the game of life for me. Everything is always about timing in boxing and timing is key. Boxing isn’t a sport. Boxing is LIFE.

Shadow box for perfection & muscles & conditioning, pads are useless in the beginning.
I'm trying like 5-7 days of only shadow box (+ light running / job) to see the muscle building effect.
