Ryobi PRC01CN 18V One+ Cordless Ratchet Review [UNIQUE FEATURE]

  • The 18V Ryobi PRC01 cordless ratchet with a pivoting head performs very well and it includes a feature not seen on other cordless ratchets.
    homedepot.sjv....
Since Ryobi had to deal with their large 18V battery at the base of the ratchet, they decided to add a rotating head, so the head of the ratchet can be moved to the optimum position for the job. You can choose 4 different positions, every 90-degrees.
This Ryobi 18v ratchet bridges the gap well between the professional mechanic and the DIY car enthusiast. Even with the brushed motor, this ratchet delivers plenty of power to run off nuts and bolts. You can purchase the Ryobi PRC01CN for just $79 as a bare tool, and you get a 3-year warranty.

I used th-cam.com/users/postUgkx4ynqaujg7rZKFapA8s29kTpRszJGa3-K this for the first time today to replace the front wheel bearing on my rwd 98 dodge dakota. This had absolutely no issue removing or reinstalling the lug nuts and it took off the axle nut without any struggle. Sounds like it's got some muscle to it. Time will tell

i have the 3\8 ratchet. My fiance got it for me for my birthday last year because we already have a bunch of one plus tools. I love it. i have used it all day then let it set for a month then used it all day again on the same battery pack, and it still wasn't dead. I will probably pick this one up and the new long neck one as well.

One big thing about Ryobi is their tools last a minimum of 5 years of heavy use. I've never had less life, usually longer life than 5 years, even heavy use.
I've never had a battery problem either, with Ryobi lithium batteries. All my Ryobi batteries are still working 5 years later.
Can you say that about any other brands?

I have had mine for a couple weeks and so far I like it. The rpm is much faster than my 16 volt Matco. I use it to work on Transit Buses and it works great for taking off clamps and small fasteners. Plus you can't beat the price for 79 bucks and a 3 year warranty. As for longevity will see. I tend to beat the crap out of my tools so we will find out soon, lol.

Definetly appretiate it being a affordable option for a electric ratchet. If they had those slim handle batteries like the milwaki m12 I think Ryobi might be the most popular on the market with its pricepoint

They really could build a compact battery with smaller cells that still has the tower and still charges in the charger and still works in other tools if they really wanted to make things like this ratchet work better. Anything past the battery latch could be removed. Yes it would be a special battery just for these tools, but at least these different batteries could be used in a drill if you needed it. I've passed on these ratchets due to the battery issue, and I have about 15 18+ volt tools going back to the old blue tools for some things.

So power and reliability is there only thing is neon always have a little more bulk and not designed as good but the 4 position anvil makes this great for value and not a bad design.

On my old ryobi drill there is a magnet in the place of where this has that extension holster and i do use it all the time to hold screws that im working with . I have some Ryobi tools that are almost 20 years old. They can use all the new batteries. That is a huge savings for me. Why replace an old tool that still works.
I currently have about 15 Ryobi tools of different ages as well as a number of batteries and the same batteries work for all them.

I don't get how they used a 18v power source and still make the same ft/lb rating as a 12v. I was gonna get it since Im already invested into the Ryobi ecosystem, but I went with the husky cordless ratchet cause it's slimmer, just as powerful, I'm pretty good at keeping my stuff charged so I don't worry about not having a replaceable battery.

@@Shoptoolreviews Their angle grinder used to rotate the battery and I believe they had another tool that did too but I can't remember which one right now.
