October 2023 We took advantage of having barely any water in our second dam and decided to take out the sediment and top soil. This would give us more capacity and have some nice soil for the gardens.
Good to see you both again and maintaining a positive outlook despite the hardship of lack of water and hungry critters, we're all just trying to survive the best we can, at least the cows seem to be thriving in the drought, cheers!!👍👍👍🙏
Brooke you w be diving a semi. Trailer soon you are so good in the little pick up I flat out driving a Suzuki😊❤you are both doing so mua great credit keep it up your videos are so good to watch
Not sure what you did with all the sediment, but that would have been good to add around the plants, or put as a vegi patch. it would be full of nutrients having been washed down from other areas.
It’s all coming along nicely guys. That critter looked to be a Burton’s legless lizard, cool little dudes, we’ve got em on our property, unfortunately I generally only see them after I’ve hit them with the mower 😢
If I can add some advice. Sooner you get some water in a dam if you put a heap of fish in a pond after it has been established and has a filter on it and some air stones to get oxygenation in the water for the fish the water from their is pretty much manifesting the greatest water for all your plant regeneration naturally hey. We use our aquarium water to water the gardens during our water changes and the plants and veg just grow stupid from it. Hope that helps you guys. I know trucking in heaps of water is costly but may help kick start things? So many natural nutrients for the fruit veg and plants you wanna grow. Saves buying it from the nursery in bulk all the time. Run a pump from the dam up to your irrigation so it's on tap for easier distribution too.
Looking OK for the amount of rain. Soil looks good.
