I never liked asymmetric multiplayer. I really wish they made a single player campaign based on these game systems, graphics, etc. I’ll probably check this out when it comes to game pass though because I love evil dead.
There are solo missions, and you can play with other ppl against an ai demon, or with 3 ai teammates against an ai demon. Or all online with real ppl obv
Good to see a asymmetrical game that seems to know what it’s doing especially one under the evil dead name. Half the time I see a game like this it’s usually completely unbalanced for one side or the other so it’s nice to see my fears being put to rest. Can’t wait to play the game!
Personally I feel the balance favors the survivors a little bit more than the demons. From how the game plays you’d have to either get kinda lucky or really know what your doing to take down the survivors.
@Isaac Lopez really? So strange I’m usually lone wolfing it every game just trying to find the map while my whole team finds it lol but I do play against the bot demon so maybe that’s why?
Evil Dead + DBD + Friday the 13th the game = something incredibly addicting so far! I’m having a great time with this and highly recommend ! Personally MORE enjoyable than DBD imo (Never liked all the running and hiding and overall passiveness) ALSO I don’t wanna hear ppl complain about the objectiveS being “the same “ or needing “more” ; at least it’s somewhat randomized. Dbd on the other hand is legit the same exact thing every time lol no variation ever . Even when you have a killer with a gimmick ex jigsaw …. You can place the traps on ppl but at the end of the day they still just have to “gen rush “ , open a door, and leave….. evil dead is farrrrrr more engaging in so many different ways lol . I think you should try playing a few more matches with some real friends and watch how your opinion CHanges as you understand the upgrading and overall game more
They got so much right! From the layout of the cabin to the stacked roster of every major character spanning the 3 movies and tv show, quips and one liner Easter eggs to the fun/ addicting/ Arcady gameplay loop. I do wish there was another map at launch and multiple game modes/ end games to the main game mode. But given they announced a free update for another map shortly, don’t think it’s too big of a deal
There is two maps I think atm. Playing with my brother he pointed out the fact that we had switched maps a few times playing survivor together. For example we noticed that Dead End wasn't on the map because the map was different.
i agree with needing a good team, i play solo so i’m always with randoms and it’s so obvious if were going to do well or not by how the team interacts with each other. i’ve had so many matches where people just run off immediately or just leave the second demons start spawning like you guys we need to stick together for a reason. if they all decided to dip i try to stick with someone but sometimes you get the speed runners who ignore looting or not wanting to wait for anyone to level up. i think it’d be a lot more fun with friends than randoms or at least in a few weeks when everyone has a feel for how you’re supposed to play. also ran into some bugs where i suddenly can’t move and apparently some people are getting stuck in walls or in air lmao
I love playing demon, more specifically the necromancer. All of my games are different in result’s and points of winning. all the options to terrorize the victims are great. The play style is fun to switch up focuses on such as posesion or traps or summoning.
same here, i don't know how strong necromancer is but its so much fun to circle around survivors to place the flute skeleton in the most clever place possible and then just throwing everything you've got on them, it turns the whole place into a battlefield with the amount of skeletons that appear if they give you time to set up properly
@@lastor9148 people that are decent find it so quickly based of of sound that it becomes almost useless. I need to play with the range more to se what I can get away with
The Evil Dead films have been long time favourites, but I’m a bit on the fence about this game. I’m not that into online games, though I play them once in a while, but because this is Evil Dead I’m willing to give it a try. My main issue with this one is that you still need to be logged in to the server in order to access even the offline modes - which is a red flag because it means that the entire game has an expiry date, when it doesn’t need to have one. If they ever patch this then this would be an immediate purchase - but for now I’ll probably wait for a sale.
Yeah if you’re not into online games don’t get it. The single player is extremely bare bones and not worth buying for. Although if you want to play it the tiniest bit, go for it. It’s very fun and for $40 you’ll get your moneys worth
I literally hate that a lot of new games provide no single player depth to them. AND YOU STILL NEED TO BE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET! I just miss the 90s early 2000s vibe
I'm still making my way through Elden Ring but I hope to get to this soon. I watched the Evil Dead trilogy for the first time this year and now I LOVE the IP.
I really wish they would’ve made this game into a more narrative driven single player game with optional co-op. The game looks pretty interesting but it’s not my type.
This game is a lot of fun but I do have to warn you all that there are a ton of toxic people playing as the survivors. I’ve had people follow me around hitting me with cars and shooting me in the face the entire match because I picked up something they wanted. I have had team mates advise everyone to not pick me up if I go down because of some perceived slight against them and the team will actually go along with it. I had a dude screaming at me for picking up ammo at one point… Great game, bad community. I recommend playing with friends exclusively or at least being ready to mute people. I get first place 90% of the time but end up winning only about 20% of the time because of toxic people trying to sabotage the game because they’re upset about something stupid.
The missions are challenging and I do believe they need something like a halfway checkpoint. But I’ll give it props, whenever I do beat a mission I feel really good. Died twice to the King Arthur mission, gonna finish it tomorrow. But other than that they are really fun for how simple they are!
@@chris329_ I enjoyed them. It took a few tries on a couple but overall the maps were beautiful and the mini stories were a great way to introduce me to the survivors. I didn't play co-op multiplayer until I beat them all. It felt like an achievement
Coming from a 3 years DBD players, do yourself a favor and try out Evil Dead, its just better in so many aspects, I play mainly survivors in ED and here are the few things I can say 1. Objectives such as collecting maps, dagger, page, necronomicon across the huge map and also exploration plus the looting are way more fun rather than just repairing generators. 2. You actually can fight back rather than just running around juking the killers in DBD, which you also can do in Evil Dead. (With stamina build its even better) 3. Survivors actually have roles and their own individuality (Leader who provides aura, Supports who gives utility heals, Warriors who deals bonkers melee damage, Hunters for range), unlike in DBD survivors are just skin and share all the perks. Well they are few bugs and clunkiness at release but I believe (hope) they will fix them up for a better QOL experience.
I really hope this game does well and hangs around for a few years. DBD is one of my favorite games and I'm really stoked for this, but I'm broke so I'll have to wait a few months.
I have a bit of experience with DBD and F13th. I do have a good amount of time put into Resident Evil Resistance however and now Evil Dead: The Game. I am 100% addicted. If you have played Resident Evil Resistance, that is the best example of its flow I know of for MANYv1 games like this. I loved RE Resistance, so an Evil Dead version of that with some differences is fucking great.
I just wish the single player campaign was longer, I was looking forward to this game because I’m a big Evil Dead fan, I just wish it didn’t have to be an online only game. My favorite movies are Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness. I also enjoyed the tv series of Ash vs. Evil Dead. I own the old Evil Dead games on PS1 / PS2, Hail To The King, Fistful of Boomstick and Regeneration.
Honestly this game is trash. Dont buy it and stay away from it. I sadly say this as a HUGE evil dead fan. How Bruce Campbell put his stamp of approval on this is beyond me
@@rickyhyppa7960 bro it’s your opinion just cause you don’t like it doesn’t mean others won’t cause I’ve seen so many people say that there into the game so I’m not gonna take you’re advice I’ll just see for myself when I buy it
I feel like this game would have been more enjoyable if it was a single player survival horror experience where Ash fights the Evil Dead, imagine Resident Evil or Evil Within style type games. I personally would have enjoyed a more story rich experience.
The best way I can sum this game up : it’s different. It’s a much better a symmetrical game than dead by day light and Friday the 13th. I like both of those games but this game is much better. It’s very fun, challenging and pretty polished. There is a lot to do.
Im really liking the game so far. This game can be entertaining for a long time as long as they add fresh content like new missions, game modes, objectives, costumes, characters and maps.
Multiplayer is fun if not a bit buggy, mission mode is good but neeeds some more leniency. But overall, I am in love with this game and I hope to see it live for a looong time!
Really love it so far. It's like left4dead, DBD and Friday the 13th all thrown together. I just feel it needs a few more maps/modes to let this be enjoyable for several years.
@@StealthyZombie co-op game with boss monsters who all have a attack you need a teammate to free you from. Staying together is also strongly encouraged. Yet it's nothing like it lol
No, Left 4 Dead is very open to changing anything you want in the game, if you want to make your own campaign or change zombies into unicorns firing rainbows from their asses you can. Until this game can do the same, it is definitely not Left 4 Dead. Not even Back 4 Blood that is supposed to be a new Left 4 Dead is not Left 4 Dead.
This is a really cool concept for a game we've seen Resident Evil Friday the 13th and and a couple other handfuls try this. I really think Evil Dead is the series to knock it out of the park.
I personally at this point find it lazy having online pvp, i think this should have been firstly a co op pve type of game with a story maybe etc, pvp should be an add on not the focus, at least imo.
@PLTLZR Dead by Daylight came out in 2016 and people still play it. I bet It makes a lot of money. If people keep spending money on them it's not surprising they are still being made imo.
@@Zekegedd true for dbd in fact they perfected the formula they were the first that came out with a very simple mechanic and evolved it, but the other asymmetrical games are kind of dead, no one cares much about them they get played for a couple of months and that's it. that's why i think that starting from that kind of game concept is wrong.
This game has hooked me and I’m absolutely in love. It’s the first asymmetrical game I’ve played where I actually enjoy playing as the survivors. I’m just making prayers to the dark ones that it sticks around a while.
All 3 movies are my favs, this game is great! Hope they keep adding onto it w those supposed new movies/shows! This could be the start of something great!
Do you think the developers might add more content in the future, Maps/Levels/characters and add cutscene’s which will contribute to making a better single player campaign mode
This game is so fun with friends, solo & also with random players...Enjoying the game a lot...hope it gets new content soon & frequently...and the community stick together with it for a long time... 🥺
Not really, they appeal to completely different player bases. If I want to play a competitive game, I’d play DbD, if I want to just have casual fun with friends I’ll load this up
Honestly, this game is good, the mechanics are really funny and full.of slashing and that's addictive. But I think, just like the Days Gone this game will be away from the limelight due to some mainstream platforms and reviewers. This is the genuine review.
this game is wonderful! especially as an evil dead fan, AND an aysmmetrical pvp game fan it's super fun to play either side, there's no fundamental flaw with the thing either - every issue everyone has is just a simple patch away they've already announced more maps and characters, and this is by far THE most polished asym game on the market it's damn pretty to look at too -- something tells me they're going to add more GAME MODES in general, outside of this objective based one you can tell the developers really cared about this game, that's something you kinda don't get anymore. for 40 bucks this is a pretty solid buy, i'd recommend it to anyone who likes this kinda game - it's pretty challenging too, not gonna lie. a lot of people are saying one thing or the other is OP but the game's only been out for a few days, and it's just super punishing if you aren't doing your job correctly as a survivor
I really enjoy the game. Love the movies as well so it's a matchmade for ED fans as well. Fan project it feels like. Also I feel that the sbmm can use a small adjustment, I am starting to notice that I am going against really good demon players (which I do not mind!) But the problem is the game two games straight gave me all level one players. And it was not a fun experience. The game can atleast give another competent player, especially if the demon player is really good. Which in My games they've been. It's like half and half you will win. But when the game gives me all lower players the demon player always goes after me and tries taking me out first. Other then these small complaints, I have been playing none stop. And I want this game to thrive and often thick sbmm can deter players and games die. Which I really hope this is not the case I truly enjoy this game
I win most of the time as a demon, but maybe cus im facing ppl who are just strangers. On occasion ill get my asss kicked tho by a bunch of speedy gonzales players
I'm actually having more wins as a demon then survivors. The key is to set as many traps the second you spawn to build up threat level. Not only is setting traps helpful for building treat but you'll be surprised how often the survivors activate the traps 15-20 minutes later in the game.
Already got it haha. Huge Evil Dead fan. Do love the references and the nostalgia is off the wall. Hope they do more maps and single player missions tbh. Love to see a map on Castle Kandar though or S-Mart. I have to say there is room for improvements
How has a Power Ranger version of this game not been made?! Imagine being Rita or Z trying to stop the rangers while they fight Putties and such. Last phase being a megazord fight.
Put it this way, dead by daylight has same objectives but been around for long. I think the foundation is strong. And if your into asymmetrical games, this is right up your alley.

Playing as all the ashes is fun .you fav character to play is pablo but I've shown my friends the game while I was playing it, and they want to play and buy the game. So glad the devs get what evil dead is about and so happy to see this game actually be good.
I’m loving it so far and I’m hoping they add some more single player content alongside the multiplayer
Already says coming soon on the 6th mission!
Couch co op?
They need more stuff to do with pvp first tho, for longevity.
@@Stagrt I don't think that will happen but I would love that
@@Stagrt I don't think that will happen but I would love that
I never liked asymmetric multiplayer. I really wish they made a single player campaign based on these game systems, graphics, etc. I’ll probably check this out when it comes to game pass though because I love evil dead.
There is solo missions
There are single player missions and you can also play the multiplayer mode but just with AI as the survivors and demons
There are solo missions, and you can play with other ppl against an ai demon, or with 3 ai teammates against an ai demon. Or all online with real ppl obv
Definitely don’t buy if you are just interested in solo play.
How many asymmetrical multiplayer games have you sunk time into?
Good to see a asymmetrical game that seems to know what it’s doing especially one under the evil dead name.
Half the time I see a game like this it’s usually completely unbalanced for one side or the other so it’s nice to see my fears being put to rest.
Can’t wait to play the game!
Itl be dead in a week and then we wont ever get another evil dead game.
@@jonathansoko1085 Your negativity won’t change shit tho, so stfu don’t ruin it for others.
Personally I feel the balance favors the survivors a little bit more than the demons. From how the game plays you’d have to either get kinda lucky or really know what your doing to take down the survivors.
@Isaac Lopez when I use Ash (Army of darkness) I always travel around alone he’s lvl 20 so I got good perks but I only travel in car.
Personally MORE enjoyable than DBD imo
(Never liked all the running and hiding and overall passiveness)
ALSO I don’t wanna hear ppl complain about the objectiveS being “the same “ or needing “more” ; at least it’s somewhat randomized.
I think you should try playing a few more matches with some real friends and watch how your opinion CHanges as you understand the upgrading and overall game more
Not dbd but left 4 dead
Dbd still enjoyable btw i like looping killer
I'm not going to have any fun if I pick up the game and lose every match because my enemy has more permanent upgrades than I do.
Game has nothing to do with dbd , its way more symilar to re resistance
@@Scroolewse but In dead by daylight they have permanent upgrades too? Or perks
This is my first asymmetrical game I've played since Evolve... and I'm loving it.
Yeah, I think once the castle map shows up the game will be taken to another level.
I need to play with the range more to se what I can get away with
Evil ash is great to play as, makes you feel powerful
I wish I still had friends that played games like this..
Dude Fistful of Boomstick was one of my *favorite* games when I was younger!
THAT'S the kinda Evil Dead game we need!
7.09M SUBS!!!!! I love watching the number go up every couple of videos. Makes me super happy lol
The movies are classic af! Watching the movies will make this game even more enjoyable 😎
Or just watch the movies regardless of the game
@@johnwrath3612 ummm, I know....
For me this game has done what I wanted from Friday the 13th. I’m really loving it so far
Ash vs Evil dead is my favorite thing from Evil Dead franchise
Despite the glitches and toxic players, I really enjoyed Friday the 13th and played it for ages. Guess I'll like this then?
The game is rather fun. I enjoy it for what it is. Although, I really do wish they'd put more time into the PC port. The lack of options is pathetic.
Been playing for a few days now and I've been loving it, highly recommended to asymmetrical horror game fans and especially for evil dead fans
I hope it will be as popular as DbD. I don't want to see this game die.
I literally hate that a lot of new games provide no single player depth to them. AND YOU STILL NEED TO BE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET! I just miss the 90s early 2000s vibe
These franchises you mentioned jake, friday the 13th, predator, evil dead. Would all be an amazing singleplayer game
It'd be nice if they added checkpoints in the single player missions and let you earn XP while playing Solo
Since Ash could not brandish his Boom stick and Chainsaw in Dead by Daylight I'm really enjoying the chance to finally fight back.
The Missions are awesome you really aren't doing them any justice. I love this game and I love the Missions!! I respect if others don't but I do!!
okay!!!!!!
They are a bit scarce on health
The missions are annoying and repetitive… Not in a good way.
Coming from a 3 years DBD players, do yourself a favor and try out Evil Dead, its just better in so many aspects, I play mainly survivors in ED and here are the few things I can say
1. Objectives such as collecting maps, dagger, page, necronomicon across the huge map and also exploration plus the looting are way more fun rather than just repairing generators.
2. You actually can fight back rather than just running around juking the killers in DBD, which you also can do in Evil Dead. (With stamina build its even better)
Dope! I didn’t know this game even existed. Ready the boom stick! Nice to see a single player mode, however limited.
It just came out yesterday
My number 1 go to when a new game drops over the past few years. Just subbed sorry guys!
This game needs a lot of balance and tweaks. Right now it’s been more frustrating than fun.
I really hope this game does well and hangs around for a few years. DBD is one of my favorite games and I'm really stoked for this, but I'm broke so I'll have to wait a few months.
It’s not messy at all it’s amazing
Man I wished they made it a single player focused game. Games looks great
This
Same, but I hear they are adding more single player content at a later date.
Already bought it and its really fun.
As a die hard evil dead fan.... Please just give me a solid single player... With the "option" for multiplayer.
Honestly this game is trash. Dont buy it and stay away from it. I sadly say this as a HUGE evil dead fan. How Bruce Campbell put his stamp of approval on this is beyond me
@@rickyhyppa7960 bro it’s your opinion just cause you don’t like it doesn’t mean others won’t cause I’ve seen so many people say that there into the game so I’m not gonna take you’re advice I’ll just see for myself when I buy it
@@kanehowe8081 I hope you enjoy it. Its just my opinion, and I hope everyone else who plays it loves it. Cheers.
Been grinding all day just hit level 25 with my lord Arthur he’s one for the best survivors for sure
I've never been into these asymmetrical mp games. They always just seem so shallow. I'd love a story driven single player Evil Dead game.
They tried that. It didn't work either time 😂
Although I think it definitely could be done well if the right devs picked it up.
I am not into horror games but this definitely looks fun! Might buy.
Im really liking the game so far. This game can be entertaining for a long time as long as they add fresh content like new missions, game modes, objectives, costumes, characters and maps.
I actually found this super fun. The survivor part is ok but the gameplay as the demon is fun as hell and different than what most games do.
Multiplayer is fun if not a bit buggy, mission mode is good but neeeds some more leniency. But overall, I am in love with this game and I hope to see it live for a looong time!
I love this game. Cant wait to see what they do in the future.
Really love it so far. It's like left4dead, DBD and Friday the 13th all thrown together. I just feel it needs a few more maps/modes to let this be enjoyable for several years.
This is nothing like L4D.
@@StealthyZombie co-op game with boss monsters who all have a attack you need a teammate to free you from. Staying together is also strongly encouraged. Yet it's nothing like it lol
And a few more weapons can’t wait to see what other characters/ skins and maps they add
Maybe some side objectives so the survivors don't just rush for the end. Make it a journey not a destination
This game is actually good. Me&my friends r having a blast. Im surprised. Its not gonna win every1 over though.
I'm noormally not that into these games but because its evil dead and it seems the devs put love into this, I've been enjoying it!
Do you seriously play them all? Getting all the info and footage, dude. Best Gaming Source
Great game worth buying and getting lost in the Evil Dead world!
Gonna buy this at summer 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Loving the game so far, unlike any other game of its kind, it’s not boring to play without friends
The game is cool and all but can we get Ash vs Evil Dead back on air. I love that series.
That's not the point of asymmetrical games though
At least it is a pretty innovative take on the asymetrical horror pvp genre.
@PLTLZR there. Were 3 now there's 4
Thanks to crossplay, the game will not die within the first 2 months.
Yeah, crossplay should be a thing in every multiplayer game.

There's something really satisfying about the ........ the what ???
All 3 movies are my favs, this game is great! Hope they keep adding onto it w those supposed new movies/shows! This could be the start of something great!
Excited for this game!!
Before it’s free on PlayStation
Do you think the developers might add more content in the future, Maps/Levels/characters and add cutscene’s which will contribute to making a better single player campaign mode

Imagine a single playing story evil dead game 😭
That was a thing yay bout 15 years ago :-)
Honestly, this game is good, the mechanics are really funny and full.of slashing and that's addictive. But I think, just like the Days Gone this game will be away from the limelight due to some mainstream platforms and reviewers. This is the genuine review.
this game is wonderful! especially as an evil dead fan, AND an aysmmetrical pvp game fan
it's super fun to play either side, there's no fundamental flaw with the thing either - every issue everyone has is just a simple patch away
they've already announced more maps and characters, and this is by far THE most polished asym game on the market
it's damn pretty to look at too -- something tells me they're going to add more GAME MODES in general, outside of this objective based one
you can tell the developers really cared about this game, that's something you kinda don't get anymore. for 40 bucks this is a pretty solid buy, i'd recommend it to anyone who likes this kinda game - it's pretty challenging too, not gonna lie. a lot of people are saying one thing or the other is OP but the game's only been out for a few days, and it's just super punishing if you aren't doing your job correctly as a survivor
The game just came out so maybe in a couple weeks sbmm will improve little by little
Been waiting for this for ages there are some great features and am enjoying it so far. However playing as the demon is hard 😅😅
Playing the survivor is hard ngl. I started as demon so it’s all ik
Nothing anyone can say will talk me out of playing this game.
Already got it haha. Huge Evil Dead fan.
Do love the references and the nostalgia is off the wall.
Hope they do more maps and single player missions tbh.
Love to see a map on Castle Kandar though or S-Mart.
I have to say there is room for improvements
They are planning on releasing a Castle Kandar map, they have concept art so you can check it out

The combat is not bad either. Like anything once you've played for an hour it's easy
Like anything? I can think of loads of games that take longer than that to learn
Who takes an hour to learn the combat in this game. There’s only 2 attacks and a sidestep. It’s basic as basic gets
