Nice analysis of Raikou, she was my mosy fav character of fgo and I find the lore surrounding her and the other heian period servents so amazing. While a very tragic character, Raikou did aleast raise a son who would become a great hero of his own right and defended the peace of heian kyo during her lifetime. I'm looking forward to what kind of answer she will find for herself and what would her saber counterpart would bring to her character.
This was a great analysis of one of my favorite characters in Fate/Grand Order. I especially loved the clips used to convey the messages told throughout the vocal narrative. The one at 1:01 was a personal favorite of mine, it really carried the message of how even after going one step further, she still had some mistakes to make in the past and future, this is shown in the skirt flipping in the video clip, which is a great attention to detail. The later talk about being ashamed even adds onto this, with the shame of Nadekos skirt flip and the context of the real Monogatari episode, along with all the blushing snakes. The later talk about trivial reasons is then represented by the weak, or we could say trivial, punches Nadeko rapidly fires at the chained up older man. Honestly this little moment in the video just fully captures my attention, mesmerizes me.
and then, now, we have her Oni side realized, as Inversion Impulse takes hold: Rider Ushi Gozen. such sorrow, such pain, now remembered in this new manifestation, this raging god crying out in agony. before meeting her future son, it is clear to see, how tragic she truly is.
Mate I'm not sure how I stumbled into your channel but I'm so glad I did regardless. This was absolutely phenomenal and probably the best FGO character analysis I've ever seen. It shall remain close to my heart as you've helped me put my own sentiments about Raiko into words. Raiko is one of those characters that I was initially repelled by given how sexualized she is and how she was purposefully designed in this manner (because let's be honest, she was) and I also didn't start playing until three years ago so I missed Onigashima and other events she may have played a vital role in, but having recently gotten Kintoki and Tsuna I decided to look into her more, and I'm actually astonished by how much depth there is to her and her story. There are some tiny details about her lore that are a bit iffy- like for example, her being a supposed reincarnation of Indra through Gozu Tenno (two deities that have absolutely NOTHING to do with each other), whereas I feel that a much easier explanation for it would be that she prayed to Shakra (Bhuddist Indra) in rejection of her own lightning wielding father, and Indra being benevolent as he is took pity on her and gifted her one of his vajras, but hey it ain't Nasu or Sakurai if they don't overcomplicate stuff (see: Tsuna's backstory). Regardless I managed to get Lancer Raiko and would happily welcome Berserker in a GSSR or roll for her should my quartz funds permit it. I love you mom 🥺 Keep up the good work man, you've earned yourself a sub and I hope your channel keeps growing as it deserves~
