I was never mad at her for putting out Bow Down. As a matter of fact, it made me respect her and admire her more because for so long, she was guarded to keep her music and image first. So for the first time, she wasnt so cookie cutter the way Matthew wanted her; she was as expressive as an artist, wife, mother and icon should be.

Self titled and Lemonade were AUTHENTICALLY Beyonce. Her previous albums were amazing, but they didn’t showcase Beyonce as a person like these two albums. Just Beyonce the star. They were both perfect albums to have her musical era come to a close with and really shows her personal evolution, strength, and power through her career and life. The fact it had so many people feeling a way because she was finally unapologetically being herself is crazy. Self titled really inspired my confidence as a woman when it came out. Seeing her be unapologetic for being who she is made me want to do the same. So the women who felt some type of a way about definitely have projection issues if they listened to that album and felt “disrespected”.

Like FR if “ Becky with the good hair” wasn’t in it ( Curiosity killed the cat ) I don’t think it wouldn’t have sold much at all….naughty daddy stealing from ur daughter……She’s worked hard and if she has a rest who gives a quokka ?? Her music will always be around….she does have a art picture of our mother of Jesus but it’s her face with her kids with the holy hail like her, just like the old style Catholic Church art work. I didn’t like that but we weren’t spose to see it FR …I bow down for God. Bey you don’t need ppl to Bow to you. We already love you.

I was never mad at Bey for putting out this track, sometimes you got to say something to let people know who the hell you are. If people in the industry felt offended it’s because they may have had insecurities of their own and felt there is an element of truth in Beys message.. she really and truly is a queen. It’s not just about her music, it’s her aura and how she carries herself, how she cancels out any noise and puts her energy into music gracefully.. her shift from the usual commercial sound was also a shock to me as well, but looking back at it now, I completely understand and agree with how she became more edgy. When you hit mainstream/commercial success and become at your peak in that lane.. then what’s next? She wanted more, and I don’t blame her! Her craft is meant to be something she loves and something to have fun with. This woman is well and truly a boss!

I feel like Bey didn't write it about a specific person but a collective of people. People love to discredit Bey, they love to play down her success and her being a legend. I think she was reminding people that she's Queen Beyoncè, she's been in the industry for so long and still has kept her irrelevance. Her impact is insane and undeniable, till this day. I'm glad she released the song, I feel like If she didn't release Bow Down or Self titled, we wouldn't have gotten Lemonade.

There were literally no other black female artists who were able to make it as mainstream as beyonce back then and there was reason for that. The moment there finally is diversity with more black female artists making it big she puts out Bow down? Why is it wrong for there to be more black female artists at the same time as Beyonce?

Lol. When Beyoncé said "bow down, bitches", what made people think she was talking to just women or trying to pull other women down? I don't understand people thinking that because a woman is all for women empowerment, they can't go toe to toe with other women or they have to hold hands and sing kumbaya with other women for the rest of their life. Beesh, I said women empowerment and liberation, not women infantilism. Beyoncé can hype herself up and ask B's to bow down and give her her flowers without her being a 'hypocrite'.

Beyoncé was smart to include "Bow Down" on "Flawless". Self-Titled was a self-empowerment album yet vulnerable in some areas. Beyoncé stopped with the "we" and "all the women" or "Ladies" in her songs and started saying "I". That's why Self-Titled worked. This album was more personal, more experimentative, more about Beyoncé. People connected to how she was feeling on this album and that feeling of being connected to her continued with Lemonade. Her wanting to make music out of her norm is the best thing she's probably ever done. She can do whatever and we'll eat it up. She has us in the palm of her hands.

I never realized how much ‘4’ got so much hate in the media, and I’m glad that I was oblivious to that. I ,along with the people around me, enjoyed the album for the art and good times that it was. Yea, sellin numbers earns accolades and other benefits in the industry, but honestly, with career longevity like Beyoncé’s- who gives af about charts and numbers? It’s about the music, the art, the emotion. I’m glad she broke away from the pressures of being commercially successful. It’s about enjoying the art.

So she released 4 & i fukin love tht album she had so many hits & people need to understand tht hits does NOT always have to be a number 1 it’s a song or songs tht the general public knows because it’s played sm on the radio it’s not her fault she wanted to make real music instead of picking up songs thts catchy & tht fits the style of music around tht time..none of those artists wrote their “hit” songs majority were bought or just given to them but yea anyway i loved tht album & i love tht women named beyoncé !
