    In February 2021, I sold the house I had lived in for over 9 years. I got my 2005 Ford F250 Super Duty ready for this journey and purchased a slide in truck camper Sadly, while on the road, my truck failed so I had to get a different truck, but all is good and I’m hitting the trails! I now live full time in my camper with my three dogs. Prior to this lifestyle, I shared some of the hikes I did through day hiking and overnight backpacking. Occasionally, I shared a kayaking video here and there. Now that I am living full time on the road, I will be sharing the good, the bad, the ugly, and the pretty with you all, in hopes that it will encourage you to do what makes you happy. My goal is to be as real and informational as I can be. TH-cam helped me overcome my various concerns, so I hope that these videos pay it forward and help others.

      @@NatMoran the gorge was beautiful. Went to Hanson’s Point, Double Arch, Courthouse Rock. I was on the trail to Gray’s Arch but they closed it due to a rock slide.

      I'll be back in KY soon so I think I'll make a trip to the gorge while I'm out there. Beautiful spot to explore..bummer about the trail to Gray's Arch. That's a pretty neat spot to go to.

    You need to get some more solar and some lithium batteries along with a dc to dc hookup for your truck to charge the system when it is running.

      Rangers said they were shutting it down last year. When I head up to Glacier I'll see if it's still open! It's a really cool spot.

  • @truckcampinglife
    @truckcampinglife 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not sure how much solar you have. I have 200 watts and it does me fine. I have never run out of power. However I do have an isolator also so when I drive I am charging my batteries. I also carry a small generator from Harbor Freight with me but have never had the need to run it. Maybe you should think about increasing your battery capacity. Just a thought. Really enjoying your videos.

    • @NatMoran
      @NatMoran  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have two 100w portable solar chargers and I think it's a 170w solar charger for the camper (lights and such). It usually is enough but I went for a few days with no sun and my two laptops (personal and work) use a lot of energy to power, so I couldn't seem to keep the jackery power banks charged. I've thought about getting another battery for my camper and an inverter, but I'm still in the researching phase.

    The dogs, are they shelter dogs or did u get them from breeders? If they are off leash, will they bolt or stay near you? How did you heat ur truck camper?

    • @NatMoran
      @NatMoran  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a mixture of rescue and breeder picks. The shepherds will usually stay close unless distracted and the spaniel will bolt (follow nose). I used a heater buddy and rarely used the camper heater.

    People need to understand that if you trash these campsites at some point they will be closed permanently! I strongly suggest if this is how you live? Plze stay home and trash your own house and yard ! But as usual, a few bad apples ruin everything for all !

    Nat, Thanks for your inspiring videos. I am curious; Why your dogs are on leash most of the time? Not being critical, just wondering. I travel with 2 dogs and find it stressful for me and the dogs to be on leash to much. Park rules excepted.

    • @NatMoran
      @NatMoran  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My sheps aren't good with other dogs, nor do they have the best recall, so it's safer for everyone if they are leashed. Plus, being in grizzly country, I didn't wanna take chances. I had 3 dogs for 10+ years, so I have kinda learned to manage it, but it gets stressful at times. I'm down to two dogs now (my little Brittany passed last year), and it's easier. The big shep does well off leash, but when he's free, he makes the other jealous lol).

    • @NatMoran

      If I trusted them to come back, I would lol. The two sheps do occasional go off leash but the moment there's a distraction...they're gone. I take them to off leash dog parks a lot to get their free roam in. 😀
